- White lions are rare. Yet sometimes these snowy cubs are born into tawny prides. Their existence is a constant struggle, as they’re unable to camouflage themselves in the savanna. From rival prides to stampeding buffalo, danger is everywhere. Join us in Kruger National Park as we follow a pair of white lion cubs through their early months. When a group of nomadic males catches their scent, will their mother be able to protect them?

Did you know that ‘white lions’ are not albinos?
Actually they are not truly white, they do have some pigmentation of very light brown and they also have dark eyes. They are leucistic animals, produced by the mating of two tawny lions that both carry a recessive gene for white coat color. Want to get more fascinating insights into the natural world? if we ever get an ice age again, these leucistic coats would likely proliferate.
always appreciate the dramatic narratives! glued to the story from start to finish... can't we get longer videos? would be nice to see a map of where they travelled, context really expands the storytelling. perhaps some flavour stats about how common these white lions are, and some estimates of their chances of survival?
Thanks for the feedback and for watching our videos! :)
Are these current recordings or older ones? And are the white lion cubs still alive or did they have the chance to grow up despite their striking fur color?
I love your videos so much ❤
The lion cubs did make it to adulthood, and spoiler alert, you'll see them in one of our next videos. 😉
Thank you for watching our videos ❤️
@@terramater Thanks. I'm looking forward to the video. You're doing great work.
❤️
@@terramaterwhat are you talking about? I saw these clips in a documentary a couple of years ago. They said the brother died but the sister made it to adulthood
This looks like Xakubasa (sc) and his sister Snow of the Birminghams. ♡
I always love watching lions! The white cubs are gorgeous and it was fascinating to see the bravery and intelligence of the lionesses in keeping them safe. Amazing nurturers and still ferocious! Ive always loved that duality in them
They're really gorgeous! What was your fav part of the video? 🦁
@@terramater definitely, and probably when the lionesses taught them to hunt the buffalo!
I enjoyed the lionesses standing up to the nomads to protect their cubs. It doesn't always work out in their favor, but wish it did.
❤️
Absolutely amazing! Great job👍
Thank you and thanks for watching it!
Incredible
Right?! 🤩
Well done, what a great video.
Thanks, Steve! 🙌
Lovelies.
They're the best!
@@terramater They certainly try, families are paramour.
Love this!! ♡
Nice Lions!
They're the best!
Please make longer videos they are really entertaining and well made
We're working on it, stay tuned! ;)
The question is, does the white coat make them less likely to catch prey? Will they make it on their own once they are adults?
It's usually because they can be seen, thus the prey can react more quickly to escape. Cats are ambush predators and stalk their prey. If you can't hide yourself well enough so you can catch fast moving prey, then you don't get to eat.
Hi @UmbreonLuv1! exact!

Awesome story
Thanks for watching it!
Praying for this cubs safety and their mothers ❤❤❤🙏🙏❤️
❤️
Inspiring lessons for me
That's amazing! Thanks for watching it!
Do white tigers naturally exit in snowy wilderness. Also could you do a video on king cheetahs
Thanks for the suggestion!
No, they don't. All white tigers are a genetic variant of bengal tigers, which are native to the jungles of India.
When was this and what's their names
Their names are Nkani, which stands for Little Fighter. Her sisters name is Shinga, which means Little Hunter. ❤️
Hi
Hi there, @hi______hi_____! :)
Wait, wait! So what was the eventual outcome?
I see now from other comments that both the lions did make it, and that Terramater has more of them in store..!
