      If they will not hunt the population of giraffes will rise and then they will eat more food and there will be less food for other herbivores animals and so you see how beautifully the cycle of nature is designed that no one can starve to death

      @@MrDingo-lo7zs But the population is not able to rise dangerously high. Food is scarce in most places. But yes lions need to hunt giraffes since they are their last real predators, not only for giraffes but all big fauna living in Africa. So lions can't go extinct.

      Clearly it was several lionesses that took it down not 2. I doubt those 2 could have succeeded without some luck of the others joining in the hunt.

    This was amazing! Never seen only two lions take down a giraffe before, very impressive footage. Of course, it is sad to see the beautiful giraffe go but that is nature after all and the beautiful lionesses need to eat as well. Outstanding work guys!

    Those lions are lithe and beautiful. Really lean and mean! You can see they probably don't eat often because they aren't plump or anything, but they're well-fed enough to stay strong, and they're crazy muscular!

      @@micaharchive hyena packs can have up to 80 plus often predators don't eat other carnivores. Hyena's bite force is too strong though and the rotting flesh will cause a nasty infection

      Lions don't feed on hyenas. They only kill them to reduce their competition for food.

      There are 20000 lions and 97000 giraffe left on earth. Both considered vulnerable. Less than 4000 tigers. Tigers are endangered.
      It will be easier to accept wild giraffes living near towns. By that I mean it will be easier to save Giraffes from extinction compare to lions and tigers.

    Came here from ZeFrank. I've recently dove into learning about lions and their world. So, I used this video as a means to impress me.

    Lions always use their advantage and their strongest features. Unfortunately for the Giraffe, it didn't use it's legs fully right from the beginning. It kept on running unstrategically coz of fear.

    It’s still the whole pride that brought the giraffe down in the end… Left just 2 lionesses dangling on the giraffe legs for a while longer and the result could be the opposite.

      I saw this on a documentary about two lion prides fighting against each other. If I'm not wrong, the other pride comes in and steals the giraffe kill from this lionesses and their cubs.

    Oh, you did not see the ending. The lionesses had their kill buuut it's the male lions who patrol the territory get to eat first. And after they're done they may have unwelcome visitors in the form of hyenas. Remember, that is nature and it does not always end well for the pride.

    Most herbivores are born to be eaten by carnivores and some of them had died in the slowest painful death by lions, hyenas, or wild dogs. They are born with very poor eyesight and can hardly see at night whereas their predators can see quite well night or day.
