Stranger Things: the awesome mystery/Spielberg homage tv show that straddles the line between 80s nostalgia and 80s period piece. Either way, it’s rad as hell. What’s both crazy and cool about Stranger Things is that each season builds a bigger world in and around Hawkins, Indiana -- so the number of interesting characters continues to grow. Are you KIDDING ME? He almost single-handedly deciphered the map that Will drew, and in the face of being devoured, he was able to turn on the sprinkler system to distract the demodog and escape. What I’m basically trying to say is that Bob is very smart when he needs to be.

I don’t like how people defend how Mike treated Max in season 2. I know he lost Eleven but just because Lucas and Dustin wanna befriend someone else and have them be part of the group doesn’t mean they are trying to replace el. Just because you lose someone doesn’t give you the right to keep your friends from making ones themselves.
guillermo acosta yeah. The same people who defend Mike hate Lucas for how he was suspicious of El in season one. Lucas actually apologized to El, Mike never apologized to Max, and Lucas was worried about Will being Missing.

Honestly, I forgot that mike even did that, and that's because considering his age and all the stuff that's happened to him and his friends, I think that he is justified to be a little defensive.
Being a little defensive is one thing, treating someone who is new in town like crap is still wrong
In season 2 Lucas is a hypocrite,
In the first season he criticizes Mike for seemingly caring more about El then the safety of Will.....
In season 2 however while everything is going down Lucas’s main focus is on Max..... while Will has trouble with the shadow monster Mike wheeler joins Joyce Byers to help save him,
While Dustin’s flesh eating demodog is running around Dustin teams up with Steve to stop it from doing harm to others....
And where is Lucas’s focus on while everything is going on?

Even going so for as to PUT HER LIFE IN DANGER just to make her like him again.
I believe that Benny is also somewhere on the list of good.
I’d say he’d be above Hopper considering he played the same father figure role for Eleven but wasn’t as aggressive
I’d switch Jonathan and Nancy’s Place on the list. Jonathan was a more caring older sibling to Will than Nancy was to Mike. Also, Nancy pressured Barb to go to the party then ditched her. She also caused Jonathan to lose his job and never apologized for that. Jonathan wasn’t wrong when he said that Nancy wanted things handed to her. It’s true, she’s lived a privileged life and can’t handle struggle. Also, Karen doesn’t have to work yet has no idea where her kids are.

I get that Hopper is a heroic, brave, and caring guy, but I really didn't expect him to be so high on the list...
Edit: And Mike. The two of them are both good people, without a doubt, but how they treat certain people cannot be ignored.
EXACTLY! i feel bad for hopper and adore him but it shouldn’t excuse him. i understand why el was so frustrated at the fact she had to be sheltered, and his own fiasco with mike.
as for mike himself, he was such an ASS to will. i get it, puberty yet it’s still pretty rude. he was extremely rude towards max, he was worried she would replace el. BUT HE STILL IS RUDE TO HER EVEN AFTER EL AND MAX BECOME CLOSE- he was also the only one being a douche to her. el gets frustrated with mike and hopper specifically because as someone who was sheltered for 12 years, she doesn’t understand emotions completely. it confuses her

It will obviously be a long list since there are so many Harry Potter characters. Considering the books having more information than the films, the actions and roles of the characters mentioned in the video should be based off the books to give more detail about the characters. For example: the books give more information of how Snape mistreated students than in the films. One instance is when he threatens poor Neville to poison his pet toad Trevor if he doesn't get the potion right and after Hermione helps Neville with the potion, Trevor manages to survive and Snape takes away points from Gryffindor because Hermione helped Neville.

I know she’s a minor character thus far, but you forgot Eleven ‘s “sister” who also had psychic powers. She would have been in the grey area morally if you ask me. I mean I feel her actions are understandable and even justifiable but she also commits a lot of crimes against otherwise innocent people.

Mike is quite a realistically written character, in that puberty and getting a steady girlfriend made him turn into a bit of a douche. I still love him, but he's fallen a little for that.

hopper had some asswhole moments but i wouldn’t call him an abusive father. he crossed the line sometimes but its been quite some time before he was a parent, since sara. i mean come ON, compared to brenner who kidnapped el, tortured her and kept her as his experiment and treated her like a lab rat for 12 YEARS, hopper seems like an angel. but i agree with that last statement- without bob, no one else would make it out alive.
If this was made after season 4, Erica probably would've been in the good area.
A lot of characters were forgotten like season 2’s suicide squad, the new Hawkins lab manager, Benny (if you forgot who Benny was he was the guy in season 1 who fed 11)

I feel like Mike is at a point where he could go one of two ways: he could become a Joyce or a Hopper. Both are good, of course, because I don’t think Mike could ever really go against the main cast considering his loyalty. However Hopper and Joyce are good in different ways. He could go down the Joyce path by embracing his empathy and his determination to care for those around him, of he could embrace what he has picked up throughout the seasons and become more of a Hopper and becoming more of a questionable (but no doubt good) set of morals. I say this because he has some small parallels towards them both. Not much, but he does say and do stuff similar to what Hopper and Joyce have said and done (one that I always reference is Hopper’s ‘Joyce! Drive!’ And Mike’s ‘Drive. Drive!’ Which are both similar but Mike’s is much more centred around protecting El than himself. A little bit of Joyce, a little bit of Hopper.)

Dude, how is Dustin below Mike? For much of season 1 Mike is more focused on 11 because he likes her than finding Will. Dustin seemed much more intent on bringing his friend home.

Would've considered Neil to be worse than Lonnie. Lonnie was just a greedy deadbeat who was only emotionally abusive while Neil was also physically such. Guess we'll have to wait for Season 4 to decide.

Very unpopular opinion: Barb was incredibly annoying and tried too hard to control Nancy and get her away from Steve, even though he had done nothing wrong at that point.
Also, Hopper was one of my favourite characters but he should be way lower on the list because of some of the questionable things that he does, like knocking another police officer unconscious to get into the evidence room

I honestly would've put Will closer to the bottom in the grey area and Dustin more towards the top considering while he was possessed in season 2 he helped the Mind Flayer/Demogorgan on several occasions track the main group of people trying to save the town almost killing everyone if it wasn't for Eleven getting to them first in that scene where they are all in the house and Will is tied up. Not only was he also originally written to kill Bob as well, but there was also that scene in the hospital where he led all of those soilders into that trap to get brutally demolished. Even though during this time all of these were out of his control since he was taken over by the Mind Flayer, I still would have put him farther down the list then Dustin and some of the other kids since they have never been involved in any evil forces like Will has and are there to help and move things along.
I think Will helping the Mind Flayer should definitely not be taken into account, I mean, it's like someone used the Imperius curse on you (a spell from Harry Potter), this boy had no control over his actions, he was possesed. And the point of the video is to break down the character's morality, analyze them and get to know their true nature - it's not fun nor true when we include things this character would never do willingly.
Like, Will didn't ask to be possesed (yup, I know, you probably realize that and just have a different opinion about how morality rankings should be made) and any kid would probably cause as many problems in his place so it wouldn't be fair for Will, he was just unlucky.
Real life example, if someone pushes you and you fall at someone else, you don't feel guilty about it and you know it doesn't tell anything about your personality.
Also, if we'd take his actions in 2nd season into account, we should also act like Eleven was quite a bad person for opening the portal despite her not wanting to, it would complicate everything. The only thing that should matter are character's actions and views (Will's in season 2 are Mind Flayer's actions, so...).
