Old school Italians still do that $hit to this day. My mutter, my aunt…both in their mid/late 80s. Your balls better not be hot and sticky cuz their furniture is all covered in plastic.
My elderly relatives had the same back in the early 90s, my brother and I were always like, "WTF???"

I remember reading that Paulie's apartment was actually based on Tony Sirico's actual residence, right down to simple no frills layout and fastidious adherence to cleanliness.

Great scene when he’s looking at the painting in the trash and the camera moves back and forth between his actual face and the artists rendering. You can see how the same person can be “two different people”, so to speak. The confidence and charisma of a strong leader vs the insecure angry current version of himself. Similar to how we can be the sacred or the propane, each day we decide will we be the best version of ourselves or will we succumb to the darker sides. Very allegorical

I appreciate the "two years later" in the corner for that extra bit of context. Very allegorical.
During the whole series we never really get to see inside Paulies house. I liked this episode and getting to see how much of an interior decorator he is.
I grew up idolizing this show and it's characters, now they are all old or passed away sadly.. some of them though are my personal Facebook friends though. Like Christopher, AJ, Richie, Janice, etc.. Never thought in a million years
