I may be controversial at times, outspoken, etc., but one thing I'm not is a liar, cheat, deceptive, etc. I may even be honest to a fault.l I know it can be hard to separate the real me because I do a LOT of acting on this channel. But this is as real as it gets/I can be.

Mental health is a very real and valid struggle. Just as our food, water, and air have become unhealthy, our mental environment is experiencing the same deterioration. I wish it were possible to just live without the constant stress. Creativity is a big outlet for me, but I barely have the time anymore

As for Anime recommendations,
-i've always been a big bleach fan (where even 95% of the filler it has is actual storylines still and is worked into the anime. Heck 2 of the 'fillers' was made canon by the writer himself after he liked it so much xD),
-Fieren beyond Journey's end is also good, subverts a lot of the usual tropes and explores what I love as a concept "What lays beyond the adventure's end"
-Then there's Mushishi with really good episodic narratives of different yokai and japanese folklore, down to earth but has its terrifying momemts. And not always happy ends!
-And finally Shiki, which is a refreshing take on vampires and a somewhat unique artstyle - after episode 6-7 it really kicks off.
Even your favorite musical artists have albums and phases of different artistic direction. And so can you! Do what you enjoy, man.

Were all here for you! Youre hust going back to your roots, way back in 2011 when we frist started watching, when it was called whispering, because no one knew how to categorize asmr... back then you were outdoors quite often, with the flute and stuff ❤
Yeah I started to get back into it during the Spring/early summer of 2022, but towards mid-Summer through ALL of 2023 I was back indoors didn't want to go out at all. Now it's the opposite. So i'm just embracing it and seeing where this all goes.

Been following you on and off for years (since that trip to the hershey's factory in pennsylvania) and I'm an anomally in that I always enjoyed your IRL content more than the roleplays. I just like hearing Paul talk for a while and I imagine that there are many viewers that feel the same.

This entire video feels like a conversation with that one neighbor who’s not bad, actually kinda fun, just, eccentric, in a good way, but eccentric all the same, it’s great
Personally, this feels like a long time coming.
I've been watching ER for 7-8 years at this point. I used to love how off the cuff, unscripted, and random his videos were, particularly in regards to the SOUND. He used to talk a lot about aural minutiae, the fine, varied details of sound that were so integral to his old videos, which was why I think I loved them so much. Over time though, ER's voice has gotten more and more controlled, and the videos have been more and more edited and "perfected", until basically all the soft, random background noises were fazed out. Honestly, I haven't really watched an ER video in the last 5 years that I preferred to his old beer reviews or gameplay videos of Minecraft or whatever. It kinda seems like he might prefer them too, evidenced by his return to outdoor videos.
My own wishes aside, I just hope he continues making whatever he feels like. Paul, you're one of the most genuine, creative, and talented youtubers, in my opinion, and I wish you nothing but the best no mater which direction your channel heads.
appreciate it. And you're right about everything you said in that first paragraph. I'm a perfectionist. I like the sound you hear in well-crafted movies for example. That's what I've always aimed for.
But for now, yes, it's getting away from all that and trying to be more... genuine and authentic and not trying to control everything.
Being a control freak (exaggerating a bit) has been a problem for me. Fortunately I don't control my wife/son, well except when it comes to making sure we all eat well/get our exercise. But they are free to be themselves. Maybe that's a topic to make a video about.
