  • We visited this small yet wonderful region of Iceland and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip there. The western part of this country will amaze you with its stunning coasts, sea cliffs, soaring mountains, and picturesque waterfalls.
    Places we visited in West Iceland are:
    -Kirkjufell, one of the most famous sights in Iceland, with its impossibly perfect cone-shaped peak and pretty Kirkjufellfoss waterfall next to it
    -Londrangar, a beautiful coastal area with amazing rock formations and tall sea cliffs where thousands of birds nest
    -Hellnar and Arnastapi, two coastal area connected with a short pleasant trail through a rocky coastline
    -Deildartunguhver, an area with natural boiling hot spring water which is used to heat homes in the surrounding area
    -Hraunfossar, this so called lava waterfalls originate from the lava field, forming dozens if not hundreds of small waterfalls into the blue river below
    -Glymur, the hike to the tallest waterfall in Iceland will reward you with super amazing view of this dizzyingly tall waterfall and the surrounding valley and mountains, one of our favorites in the entire country
    Hopefully this could inspire you to visit West Iceland during your travel to this beautiful country, especially given its proximity to the Reykjavík capital area. For more detailed and complete report (incl. tips) of our journey, visit our travel blog 😀 (onebackpackeach.com)

      Glymur is also one of our most favourite hike. The hike was OK (difficulties wise), but the view was feally stunning. Especially when we saw the rainbow in front of the waterfall and when the birds just flew around the rainbow. It was stunning 😍😍

    • @Onebackpackeach
      @Onebackpackeach  Před 3 lety

      It was 4 days for north, 3 days for east, and 5 for south.. and we'd love to spend more days in the east, but the weather at that time was terrible so we cut it short... :)
