@@davidolundell I agree completely, Ive built 2 of the blanket chests from Jon Peters and a large size pirate chest for my grand daughters, but this blows them away. I might have a grandson on the way soon and this would be perfect!

My feelings toward this channel is a mix of "I'll take your whole stock" And "shut up and take my money"

If i had the money, i'd ask him to make me a writing desk with whatever secret compartments he desired. i am a tall man and most desks sit on or in my knees if i sit in a chair built for my proper size. i also do alot of reading and would love to shelve such a desk with some of my favorite books to keep me going and reminding me of those that inspire me. lastly I'd love for it to have a nice lamp built into the underside of said book nook, to shine the way for me to continue onwards with my hobby.
I'd have been so tempted to put some kind of compartment in the lid.

I am a musician and deal with a lot of ideas to make music, but you have brought such a beautiful art to wood work. What can I do to learn this art? You have so many ideas and I don’t feel like you ever come to a blank state. I am also in the construction business would love to try to attempt making one of your chests or tables. It’s part of the deal. I tell them flat out ima film it and show everyone. But the guy still hasn’t picked them up so they are sitting in my front room. Maybe I should start charging him rent.

How heavy is the lid as I have made a chest of my own and want to be able to close it safely without fingers being cought and wanna know how much weight it is compared to mine for the piston closer things

Must be like a hope chest for vikings. They keep their hope horns in it for when they get married.
Do you make your own key to the main lock?
I did! they are a combination of a big washers and two different size nails brazed together. I wanted them to look old.

I don’t have anything available at the moment. I should have some builds in the next couple weeks. I’ll post videos with links when I finish projects.
I understand these all require custom quotes, but I would love to know a rough range of what this specific type of chest would cost?
Also, do you need a remote apprentice?
At the time a year ago... ish I sold those chests for twenty five hundred each plus shipping. As I get better at building and depending on the cost of wood that price has gone up a little. My biggest problem is not being fast enough at building them. A remote apprentice? That’s not a bad idea. I am starting to put out better how to videos.

You should be charging 5 times the price you are for those chests, don't cheat yourself just because your doing it on your own time. Time is a valuable commodity

They are ‘safety’ locks. look in any hardware store under baby locks.
