Some interesting new information has come to light as a result of Bleach EX, detailing some insights into the expanded scenes from the TYBW anime.
The first scene we're looking at is, of course, the conversation between Aizen and Yhwach in Muken - thanks to this new info, we have a better idea of Yhwach's goal and thoughts when confronting the fallen Captain, and how Aizen's newfound power and skill over his fused zanpakuto helped him confound the Quincy King.
It's always a lot of fun taking a look at these two villains - especially together. Enjoy!

Yamaji was able to tell he was fighting aizen when aizen peirced him. SK Yhwach was not able to tell he was fighting aizen even though his arm was inserted into aizen.

Yhwach sees Aizen without the eyepatch nor the mouth seal, a strong hint that he's already under the Aizen's influence.
Aizen's Bankai is called "Total Narration" where he literally takes control of Tite Kubos' body.
I always assumed that the reason Aizen didn't know which illusion Yhwach saw was because Yhwach can pick and choose which future to exist in and alter to his benefit, but there is no future where Aizen isn't spamming illusions. Only Yhwach knows which future he picked, so Aizen has no way of knowing which illusion is in play. I think it is unlikely that he would be using the same one in all futures, so it makes sense that he was unsure what Yhwach saw.
Another possible way to interpret that is Aizen being at least partially impressed by his own illusions even working on The Almighty, so him saying "I see, so you see me as Ichigo Kurosaki," with some translations even trailing off for a second saying "fascinating..." could be him reveling at the fact his hypnosis even works on Yhwach.
OR it could be your idea that the illusions seen were technically picked by Yhwach.
OR it could be the idea that, with the idea of him using hypnosis without manifesting his sword is like using a kido with no chant, maybe the weaker hypnosis is something he doesn't fully control.
There are a lot of possibilities, but I've always felt the idea that he just doesn't control his own hypnosis anymore to be really odd. So I'll take any interpretation that isn't that.
@@XFG_Official Yeah, I agree. Even if it was a situation where the Complete (sometimes called Perfect) Hypnosis ability (or the hypnosis ritual) was "weaker"...how do you weaken COMPLETE hypnosis?
Going further, this would mean even a weaker version of the ability is enough to affect The Almighty.
It makes the most sense to me that Ywhach is using his ability and Aizen is using his ability, but Aizen cannot see what Yhwach sees through The Almighty and Yhwach can see everything INCLUDING all the illusions that Aizen is spamming in all futures, he just has no way to tell what is illusion and what is not.
I wonder if Kubo will ever flesh this out a bit, maybe answer the question in the anime by expanding the fight to include the explanation.
To add to the discussion. A 3rd possibility is that when he uses the illusion this way he cannot control what you see. It is supposed to be weaker afterall.
Another consideration is you have to remember this Aizen first time using his evolved kyoka suigetsu fully.... by the things he said, it felt like he was experimenting what it can do now.
I alway thought it was just him being a troll because yhwach maybe the comment that ks didn’t work on him so aizen was just being a smartass about it

Yhwach's mistake was going to Aizen at all. Aizen never plays second fiddle to anyone or anything no matter who they are, or how powerful they may be. His god tier ego can't allow it. Aizen's mocking was certainly about Yhwach wanting to change the worlds just as the Shinigami ancestors did so with their ambitions. A meeting of titans ends with one continuing his path, the other still biding his time.
Indeed. It also adds to the symbolism of them both, with the Son of God seeking out help from the Devil, and in doing so ensures his own downfall.

Aizen wanted to expand upon that to Soul Society in the aftermath when he tried to communicate the truth to Ichigo, Shunsui and Urahara stopped that by having his mouth sealed and then taken away immediately. In the end as mentioned Aizen only needs to wait, Soul Society's own secrets and corruption will be their end. It's all but stated their reforms are just cosmetic while the rot remains.
Aizen was not a mistake Yhwach paid for at all since no matter how you look at it Aizen didn't really add up to his downfall because Aizen went down before the conditions for Yhwach's defeat were ready
i would argue that his actual mistake was empowering Ishida *that's what got him killed*
talking to Aizen was a minor one
if anything meeting Ichibei 1000+ years ago was an even bigger one than meeting Aizen because that made him temporarily lose Almighty wich ended up with him being defeated by Yamajii
It wasn't a mistake in the end since his Kyouka Suigetsu didn't do anything to beat him at all. He just gave a job offer and was declined. Simple as that
Aizen put Yhwach under Kyoka Suigetsu. He saved Ichigo during the first invasion
I love the whole “Bad guy from past arc helps fight bigger baddie” trope.
It was damn-near perfection when Frieza helped Goku finish Jiren(he wasn’t really a villain but still), and seeing Aizen stand with Ichigo against Yhwach was just as good.
Heres a fun one: Ichigo has two baddies from earlier arcs whose powers radically alter the past (Tsukishima) and the present (Aizen) help him defeat an enemy who can control the future.
I love that scene in super, it was just so damn good all the way through. Both in English dub and Japanese sub

Aizen helping defeat Ywach was great for sure... by Freeza coming back to help beat Jiren was TRASH 🗑️🚮. If you are a die hard DBZ/DB fan you'd know that Freeza represents pure evil.
The WHOLE point of showing Vegeta before Freeza was more than just a power scaling thing...Toriyama had DBZ made to end at the Namek Saga...The reason Toriyama introduces Vegeta first was to add perspective on who was truly evil ...I'm not going to dissect Vegeta completely bc you should know his character but in a quick summary Vegeta was bad bc of his upbringing..
Vegeta conquering other planets was a job/duty bc Freeza had the Saiyans in his control, Vegeta did love fighting but also didn't show any mercy bc he had nothing left after Freeza destroyed planet Vegeta... Freeza killed just to kill...and at the end of the Namek Saga you had Goku (pure of heart) Vs Freeza (wicked)..if you change ANYTHING about Freeza you in turn shit on DBZ.. literally DBZs best arc and one of animes best villains turns to shit.
What I love about Aizen is you don’t really know what he is.
What is he thinking?
What’s his Bankai?
What does he truly want to achieve?
What’s the Hogyoku?
What was his origin story?
Less is more and Kubo perfected it.
Naw the lack of information is just grating after a while, it makes it seem as though that a character is doing something just because which is pretty lazy unless his character is all about that. But we know Aizen isn't, he has a set goal, he's a beautiful painting with no color.
Personally, I think Aizen is a perfect fit for a Soul King candidate.

@@maylabrown4584 Kubo knows that well used mystery is a positive. Great mangakas like the late kentaro Miura (Rip) also knew this. Its why aizen is so interesting.
Keep it as mysterious as possible will be good. Better than backstories
The use of colour and overall aesthetic of Muken during this scene was SO good. And seeing Yhwach and Aizen’s meeting was a great way to set up their inevitable clash at the end of the arc.
It looks a whole lot like Evangelion and where Lilith is kept.

I must say, it was so refreshing to see Aizen talk down to another villain on his level. Usually we only ever see him demean the Shinigami or his Arrancars, but his interactions with Yhwach display just how all encompassing his ego is. There is no being superior to Aizen, and the mere suggestion of such a thing means you're liable to get flamed with some biblical insults. GOAT villain.
What i really want is to hear the word "Bankai" from Aizen in the Anime, altough i really cant find a fitting one for him, his shikai is allready so damn strong lol
There's no way Aizen's Kanzen Saimin is weaker without his blade. It was still powerful enough to temporarily counter the Almighty. The reason Aizen was wondering what Yhwach was seeing is probably because he didn't know how it would affect a being that powerful.
Yep... but he did manifest the sword when fighting Juha which then strengthened the illusions. The fact that it was the only power to even stand up to the Almighty directly is one of the greatest feats in Bleach.
@@Ephideltrance Not really since Yhwach believed Ichigo's had a chance to break him *I say believed but he mostly likely saw a future where he was killed by it so just decided to bring forth a future where he didn't get killed by the attack and destroyed his bankai essentially it's like a glitch in a game where you die to a boss numerous times and you win in twelve instances of you facing that boss but instead of facing it in this one particular round you just bring out the save file and overwrite the previous one you break the game and the mechanics by simply making it look like you already faced the enemy and won. Even with his Almighty that's why he destroyed his Bankai before he released it as, for aizen he just didn't give a shit since as we see soon enough he negated Kyoka Suigetsu easily after a single moment even after he was affected by it which just shows that whether he was attacked by it or not he could adapt and use the almighty to just bypass it completely it was a flex in of itself and he didn't need to break it. He even mocks him thinking that Aizen thinks it would actually work since Yhwach didn't take precautions against it which is already a big insult. The only way they caught him off guard was Still Silver being involved.
@@yamatonoryuujin4871Ywach actually does 'break' KS. It's in the fight chapter. You see KS cracking and Aizen reacting shocked. Now, it was probably a misdirection by Aizen since he probably used his hypnosis to Manifest the blade and make Ywach think he was fighting with his zanpaktout the while time. But Ywach does in fact think he broke KS. KS is what gave Ichigo a direct opening unchallenged or unseen. It's why it's a significant feat in itself. There were only two powers that were worthy to stand against the Almighty. Kyoka Suigetsu and Book of the End. Those are facts. KS affected the Almighty by altering what Ywach 'sees' in the future. Aizen creates what Ywach sees, so Aizen in that moment controls the Almighty. Bppk of the End can alter the past, hence restoring Ichigoa zanpaktou after it was broken, an ability the Almighty couldn't see coming or change. Neither were capable of killing him, but both posed a threat equally.
It’s gonna be so exciting to see how they adapt the fight between these two. I think there will definitely be some cool additions to this fight!
Get ready for a special anime adaptation of this fight because the original was far too short. It’s going to be god like.
They will most likely add stuff, even explain how kyoka suigetsu has evolved, and fully demonstrate what that level 99 kido can do. Maybe this time Aizen does it with the full chant.
The fact that Aizen can put you under Kyōka Suigetsu with just his spiritual pressure, as well as doing it to someone like Yhwach, is a MINDBOGGLING upgrade for someone who's only been in Muken for a year. As it's been said before and will be said many more times in the future, meeting Aizen was one of the biggest mistakes of Yhwach's whole damn life.
But at that moment , yhwach was a bit weak , in fact, he was weaker than when he faced ichibei.
Also, Ks is not that perfect huh, jugram / ichigo can sense it , for ichigo , he said it was because he had already sensed it before but for jugram, i guess it was maybe because he's smart enough to notice ; if yhwach had done the same it'd have been good as f..

@@KingRoot-ie9qh Sensing it and resisting it are two different things. That ichigo is not under the effects is simply because Aizen chose not to place him. He said it himself in the final battle.
Say you sensed KS. You now have to win the reiatsu battle to resist its effects. How many people have more alot more reiatsu than Aizen? Remember he doesnt have to beat you in the reiatsu battle. He simply has to be relative for it to work (see like how Yama was affected when he was at the time clearly higher than Aizen?)

the fact that aizen can put someone under a slightly weaker kyoka suigetsu with just his reiatsu is actually insane, the hogyoku is genuinely so insane. imagine a character like ichigo merging with the hogyoku instead
2:50 Mugetsu did vaporize Aizen. Actually, more than vaporize, it existence erased him since 1.) He has transcendent power compared to Aizen, which was shown to existence erase people and 2.) His Quincy powers from Quincy Zangetsu were unknowingly being used, and Quincy erase souls
Aizen being still alive after it's used means he wasn't vaporized. Quincy only erase hollows as numeroes shinigami still keep their bodies and reiatsu after getting killed by the Stern Ritter

Interesting you took Aiden fusion with his Zanpakuto as a downgrade
I considered it a massive upgrade as it now has the ability to see one’s soul true fears/desires/etc
Which is why when Aizen said interesting you see me as Ichigo as aizen himself doesn’t know the depths of what is cast with the upgrade. As before he would tell the person this is what you will see.
This is much more powerful as it is specialized to the person and is unique only to them. At the cost that Aizen is unable to see what is that persons soul reflects
I suspect that when Aizen released his ability he wanted Yhwach to fight his most feared opponent. Aizen didn’t know that Yhwach thought it was Ichigo instead of himself. Again this Aizen stunned comment to Yhwach that he saw Ichigo.
Upgrades ability to me. And can probably still do the original version.

I agree, the only thing beyond a Bankai is called "Transcendence" wich is further bonding with your Zanpakto so that you become one with it and reach that new threshold of power. If anyone else was paying attention Aizen made it pretty damn clear
The fact that Yhwach even offered Aizen a place in his army shows how arrogant he is.
Aizen would never serve anyone. Yhwach should’ve known as much.

It's crazy how some people still think that Aizen's comment, "So you see me as Kurosaki Ichigo?", was suggesting that he didn't know what illusion Yhwach was seeing. By this point everyone should've realized that everything Aizen says to someone is either mockery or gaslighting. Like how the hell would fusing with your zanpakuto suddenly make you weaker? Or make your control lesser for that matter? Sh*t doesn't make one bit of sense, honestly speaking.
Aizen's comment was just his way of mocking Yhwach because prior to that moment, Yhwach boasted that he already broke Aizen's sword, so the reveal at the end made it humiliating for him. Also, Aizen was fascinated at the fact that he was able to interfere with the Almighty. This was proven yet again when after the real Ichigo showed up and attacked Yhwach, Aizen talked to him about how he was able to deduce that his powers can affect the Almighty and he used that to distract Yhwach so that Ichigo can attack him.
There was nothing to suggest that Aizen doesn't know what illusion he gave Yhwach or that he doesn't have control over his powers at all. That was just Aizen being Aizen, plain simple.
This is accurate. Even with ywach future abilities, once someone is under KS it's clipped and aizen activate it instantly at any moment as showed w momo and toshiro and a countless slew of other captains.
If anything it would simply make sense ywach can't see it because it's an illusion.

Aizen must have used Complete Hypnosis to prevent Yhwach from sensing his reiatsu.
If I'm not mistaken, his hypnosis only works on phisical senses, it does not affect things like sense of reiatsu, that's why in Fake Karakura when Aizen stabs Yamamoto, Yamamoto is sure that Aizen is actually in front of him, because he can sense reiatsu of his blade inside of himself.
Bleach was my favorite anime growing up, always felt like a comfort show for me to watch, but after watching the first 2 parts of tybw my mind was blown. The anime went from arguably my favorite bc of nostalgia to my favorite bc of how badass the final act (so far) was

I just realized how Aizen can pass time without going insane being in that chair all alone, he can create illusions on himself to be in some sort of virtual reality kind of state. Holy crap, he could be doing anything from just having fun to creating scenarios in his head to predict outcomes in case scenarios.

I was just speaking about this on twitter about Kyouka Suigetsu's parameters and caveats. Aizen's powerful reiatsu mitigated his swords weaknesses the stronger he became.
I wouldnt say it's out of question that the influence and control of his illusions might wane/dilute if aomeone of equal or greater power is the target. Perhaps this is simply territory Aizen isnt too familiar with?
Considering Aizen's was glad he hadn't ever hypnotized Ichigo prior to the confrontation with Yhwach, it seems that there are some element of control Aizen lacks over his illusions. You would think he could just free someone from his spell/influence them at will. But again, Ichigo isn't your average (captain level) soul.
***I also heard Kenpachi Zaraki's swelling power has supposedly broken him free of KS's hold in the novel. If so, Kenpachi can either "cut"/destroy all things and phenomenon, Aizen's power comes with caveats like every other zanpakuto, or reiatsu scaling is at play. Maybe more...

In my opinion …aizen pulled the greatest troll in anime history when he revealed that it was him ywach was attacking and not ichigo
I've heard that line talked about like he couldn't see what Yhwach was seeing, but personally I don't think that's the case given the grander context. I think he was just mocking Yhwach and playing with the shock the "all seeing" God got tricked with a mirror flower.
its a parallel to what YWACH did against Yamamoto. Both ended up tricked by someone who at the moment looked exactly like the opponent they were after, only for the real one to come from behind when the truth of the deception is revealed.

Considering most of these guys powers comes from the Soul King, it really puts into perspective how strong Reio was when he was whole.

Aizen commenting on viewing him as Ichigo wasn't an admission he didn't know what Yuha was seeing, he was just flexing his Lol face with his normal arrogance to belittle Yuha.
A large part of Sosuke merging with his zanpaktou is that he doesn't need to show the sword release, Ywach being close and Aizen releasing his shikai wordlessly with no sword present is enough to cause Ywach to be forever locked in. After that Aizen just needs to exert full effort on the only person nearby to alter his perception of time. Aizen was surprised that Ywach was still influenced by his Kyoka because large spiritual pressures can nullify effects of smaller spiritual pressures. Aizen was surprised a new soul king was tricked by his spiritual powers.
The interaction was much needed. In the manga, it left one wondering how that convo went but i could only have imagined Aizen talking down to him. Kubo delivered in the anime. Aizen basically talked down to him the whole time and foreshadowed his eventual downfall with the last comments about ensuring the remove one that is considered a threat, basicay telling Ywach subtly that he considers him a threat that he'd have to deal with if he got free. I doubt, at that point in the story, Ywach had the power to kill or even restrain Aizen. If he had freed Aizen his military force would have dwindled within a short span because Aizen would have killed a chunk of the Stern Ritter himself and then set his sights on the Quincy king right after. Ywach was smart to leave him in Muken. As Mayuri stated later, muken is for prisoners who cant be killed for some reason or another. I doubt that is just a shinigami being unable to stop their heart. Ywach at that point was powerful enough to challenge Aizen but not capable of killing him and no one under him could have posed a threat to Aizen.
Weird question, but I've been thinking about the Hokyoku for a while now.... Just what could Kisuke stitch together with his bankai if he was fused with a hokyoku? Dimensions possibly?
Anyone know or guess when we can expect cour 3 trailer(like march or april)? Cause kubo said he is gonna add more aizen and ukitake scenes in cour 3. And really want taguchi to focus more on bleach than other anime as he focused on other anime than cour 2.
The most likely release is July at the earliest and October at the latest. I doubt it'll be in april,because if it was,we'd already have gotten the release date in the trailers,since we're almost only 2 months away from that.
@@brazu9864I think we can expect a trailer in march as there is an event called anime japan on 23-24 march+ several anime making there announcements so I think we can expect bleach too.

I always took the “so I appear to you as Ichigo Kurosaki” as Aizen taunting Ywhach
I feel like this also sheds some light on the odd interaction between Aizen and Kyoraku later where it appears that Aizen is free from his bonds. He may have been using his hypnosis to satisfy his own ego as he probably didn’t like being seen as helplessly bound up. Just my thoughts on it, anyway.

I love the Aizen/Kyoraku interactions, Aizen is smarter but Kyoraku is still able to talk to Aizen in a way that works for him, and convince him to help. I do wonder why he didn't use that same trick when Kyoraku went down though.

If he was so low on the ladder then he wouldn't have been involved in the final battle. It's not over rating him, he was able to solo the entire Gotei 13 and then got stronger after being locked in Muken, if you think he wouldn't stand a chance against all of them then you're genuinely tripping.

I have a feeling that ywhach couldn’t sense Aizen’s reiatsu in the same way that rukia couldn’t sense the hollow attacking ichigo’s family ALL the way at the start. If he flooded the entire area from BEFORE Yuha got there, then Yuha would only think that was what Muken itself felt like (especially if Aizen compounds the effects using KS).

My understanding of Ywach going to speak with Aizen was to sell the fake to Yama. Ywach couldn't be anywhere Yama might detect or find him and end up not exhausting himself, so he took a hail mary with recruiting Aizen. A mistake for sure, but the purpose of going to muken seems to me to be hiding the real Ywach until Yama can be killed.

Wouldn't Aizen have been the better replacement for the soul king, fully truly redeeming him. If his shikai is single hypnosis, thereby make reality shift for one, his bankai could then shift reality for everyone, creating worlds on his own and keeping them stabilized. It fits also with the workings of the hogyaku and his immortality.

The problem is Yamamoto could not kill Aizen. Yamamoto flames are his Reiatsu, its being so strong and condensed to the point of being visible as flames and being able to vaporize things, there is many actual proves that its reiatsu, first what Hashwalt said when Yamamoto stated heat is 15 milion degrees is true, flames of that temperature wouldnt be in that form, and it is his reiatsu, another prove is Ichigo after finishing talk with barely alive Byakuya starts vaporizing rain with his reiatsu.
Aizen on the other hand have reiatsu so strong that it is even above yamamoto, and what did Bleach first teach you ? when 2 reiatsu collide stronger one always win, aizen even nullified Soi Fon shikai with his overpowered reiatsu...
I am not saying that Aizen is nullifying Yamamoto completelly, Yama could still cut him and do stuff but his reiatsu(his flames) are not on Aizen level for them to be able to vaporize him. He could burn his clothes and give him some little burnmarks like he did with Hado 96 and thats all...

Yhwach was directly related to Soul King and then absorbed the Soul King. Which means he embodys the everything the Soul King is.
Aizen wanted to destory the Soul King and stand at the top of everything. Aizen let Yhwach go and achieve his goal which by killing and absorbing the Soul King, and Yhwach took down the Zero division which was also a great threat to Aizen, once that was done Aizen joined the fight and helped directly take down Yhwach. Which means Aizen was able to essentially complete his goal by destroying the Soul King. Now all his main threats are dealt with and only one person truly remains thats capable of threatening him now is Ichigo.
