  • As a critical cardiologist, Dr. Michael Sabom first thought near-death experiences were "hogwash." After designing and implementing the first scientific study of NDE's in the 1970s, he was stunned at what he found. In this interview, Dr. Sabom discloses his surprising findings and discusses how the professional field of NDEs has radically changed since its inception in the 1970s.

I had an NDE when I was 12 yrs old, in 1973. I explained it to my older sister, who rescued me after I drowned. She said, "Your life flashed before your eyes!" I thought that was what it was called until about 1976. I was in a Salvation Army store when a paperback book caught my eye. I saw the words,"near death experience. I had shared my experience with my sister & my mother by then, but I felt very blessed because I thought I alone had this knowledge of a Living, loving God. I still feel so very blessed to have been in His presence, to have been in a place where time did not exist, & to have seen colors that human minds are incapable of seeing or experiencing. I've had 2 additional miracles since then. God is so real & I would give almost anything to be able to give that knowledge to others!

My friend had an out of body experience when he dived into shallow water and broke his neck. We didn't realise how serious it was at the time and didn't immediately jump in and pull him out, thinking he was mucking around. He told me about it a year later after he had recovered.
He was floating above the scene thinking that if this was death it wasn't so bad. He saw us jump in beside him and when I touched him, he was back in his body. For a while he blamed me for bringing him back to life. I told him that I didn't have that sort of power and that he wasn't dead anyway.

Your story is so amazing 🙏❤️ I didn't die but I saw God's hand. I was in a really bad place. I was suicidal and had been a drug addict for 26 years. The only reason I had quit drinking is because I spent 3 months in the hospital. One day I totally fell apart. I begged God to take me and just make me His. I saw His hand wipe oil on my forehead. It was incredible. It was every color but not colored, it sparkled but it didn't, I know that doesn't make sense but that's the only way I can describe His hand. My addiction was gone in an instant. It's been a crazy and amazing journey ever since. But I can be around people doing drugs, take care of people on pain meds.... no desire at all to get high for 7 years. I don't usually tell people I saw God's hand because it's a lot 😉 I guess the internet knows now. God bless and keep you!

Not a nde but came in one night and a preteen that I had been taking care of for a few years in the kids cancer unit, called me into her room and told me there were two angels come in and out of her room through a door that she knew I couldn’t see. They visited her all night about half through the night she called in and said there was 3 now and one was Jesus. She died about 9 the next morning. So that child had the best escorts to heaven she could have ever had. What a joy that brought to my heart

Nothing happened. He drove home. Fast forward to 2am that next morning he was sleeping when he said his bedroom flooded with a warm love. He said he knew Jesus was there in the light, Jesus is the light. The light was coming at him in waves of liquid love in heartbeat waves!!!! I know when my father was passing away from cancer, he kept saying “look at all the beautiful colors.” Shortly after, he was gone. My mother on the other hand was laughing and I asked her what she was laughing about and she just said she liked watching them play. I have no clue whom or what she was talking about but she was happy and then she passed. They passed within 6 yrs of each other and were both believers in Jesus and born again.

She could have been seeing children playing, or even adults or both. I know when my dad was dying of brain cancer he mentioned not only those amazing colors but he saud tons of babies, children/kids of all ages with like different colored flags or handkerchiefs that they were twirling, he was in complete joy witnessing that, he also mentioned a huge river that flowed as far as the eye could see & said the color was indescribably beautiful, he tried to describe is like a combo of crystal clear sparkling glittery water with a combo of the most beautiful unknown hues of blue, teal, green yet clear & sparkling ✨️ at the same time. He also mentioned many more things and I would ask any time I noticed him seeing or hearing anything and I wrote everything down. He saw a few ppl as well that he fully described. It was so bitter sweet as my dad was/is my real life hero! A great husband, father and soul in general who would help any1 he could & was a TRUE believer. He passed 2weeks before my birthday, so he saw me into this world in the month of January and I saw him out in the same month of January. This was in 2020 and there's not1day I don't think of him. And my love 💓 keeps growing for him as I can sense him with me many times, I know he's watching out for me. 1more thing I wanted to mention was the day he mentioned seeing all those babies & children of different ages happened to be the day commemorated for the Mascre of the innocents by King Herod (something I found out afterwards). A few pics were taken of me kissing him shortly after he passed and I noticed there was an amazing beautiful mix of a bright bright intense white with teal light coming out in like a streak exactly from him (to be exact his mouth) to me. Since it was a few pics you can see the same streak like circling me and then shooting to my mom and then higher up as if exiting. This only came out at the pics taken immediately after he passed. That has no explanation as it's only in all those particular pics.

When Gram passed, I had my head on her chest and I heard her last heartbeat. I immediately felt a sense of peace, and I knew she went straight to heaven. I walked out of the room, and that elderly woman said to me, "hey you come here. Did you see them?" I said, "see who?" My mother had a NDE the day I was born on Nov 3 1964 while the hospital staff were watching the election results and she bled to death. She told me about the first time when I was about 10. Then we talked about it a lot over the years. She said she floated out of her body and hovered over the room and saw her body and the Dr coming in and finding her like that and he was cursing at the nurses and throwing stuff around. It’s quite lengthy but the short version. She met Jesus and He asked her to decide if she wanted to come back and she said she didn’t want to because it was so loving and perfect there but then she thought of me and thought yes I’m her mind and was instantly slammed into her body and was cold and in pain and the contrast was horrific. To this day she says we have each other earthly life that day. Kind of fascinating. She swears she can’t wait to get out of here and she talks about death like she is going to a special event and can’t wait.

I was 17 when I had a NDE. I floated above my body saw how sickly it was due to anorexia ( I'm 5' 11" and was 98 lbs.) and didn't want to go back in. I was above the rooftop of my father's house. I could hear my stepmother and friends in the guest house talking about me and wondering why I had been gone so long. I could feel my father's thoughts in his mechanic shop trying to work on a car, swet home Alabama was on the radio. I shot straight up from there. It was pure dark I had no sense of who I was or what Earth was anymore. I felt every right or wrong thing I had ever done and had to feel it 50x more and how it affected others. I saw a glorious love filled light ahead and felt the acceptance id been searching for my whole life. I was home! A dimmer light came from my right side. I had to choose. The dimmer light told me I could come back to Earth and live a longer life and it would only be a blink of an eye in time. I figured what did I have to lise I was reassured ill get to come back when it's my time. I agreed and shot right back into my body. I woke up to my friend stunned standing above me. I limped to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I looked like a corpse. I asked the light before I came back what message I should bring " how you treat others while your here is what matters the most" I was completely cured of my anorexia and had a new view on life. It was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I have severe heart damage but 30 years of borrowed time on thus planet❤😊

Your decision today will determine where you spend eternity after physical death.
Soon it will be too late to make a decision to accept Jesus Christ and be saved.
No matter how far you may have gone in sin, God already did something to help you.
He gave Jesus Christ who knew no sin to die for your sins so you can be forgiven and treated as though you never sinned.
It is now your personal choice to either accept or reject Jesus Christ and all He has done to save you.
Please accept Him now before it becomes too late.
      Say this simple prayer
'Oh God, I come to you in simple repentance. I agree I have sinned and deserve judgement but I am glad Jesus died for my sins. Today I accept this payment and confess and acknowledge Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I declare by faith I am saved, forgiven and declared righteous.

She said she had to go and I needed to wake up and start my day that day. She told me when I wake up to look underneath the bathroom sink because there’s something of hers in that box. I woke up and went underneath the sink and found this small little cardboard box. What was in it was a blue bandana that my grandma would always wear. It had her scent on it. @michaelknapp8961 I believe you and had the same reactions from my family when I had similar experiences with relatives and loved ones. It wasn’t u til those family that ignored me before had their own NDEs that they agreed and believed me, but I think it also makes them sad that they didn’t get visited, so it’s hard for them to hear the message. What they still struggle with is different people have different gifts. Some are manifesters, some are intuits, some are conduits. Everyone has their own special powers, they just have to be open, unfearful, and willing and able to learn and seek guidance…. It’s like the same thing as saying everyone has their strengths and weaknesses… just with broader more encompassing wording… anyways, I digress. I have been visited by all my dead relatives in my dreams a few hours or a few minutes before thier passings and been given messages to pass by each one. I’ve also been visited in my dreams by other family friends. I used to be afraid of my gifts and was taught they weren’t real or “what an imagination” and because I had no one to guide me or teach me how to properly protect myself and use my gifts safely, I shut them down and shut them out for many years. This o ly made me vulnerable to it without any control over it. Luckily, I’m older and wiser now and have healthy life teachers and guidance through the Bible and people of light and other writings and teachings now, so I just let it be was it is when it is and let it go and go with the flow. The cosmic consciousness or God or gods or Holy Spirit or gut feelings or intuition or affirmations or Allah or all of it and/or none of it… words are meaningless if you have the knowing… it is all to be respected and held in humble loving regard and echoing through each of us in our own ways… I went on a rant. Point is. I believe you. You know it to be true. Believe in yourself cz the universe does too. Be well. Blessings on your earthly journey

Jesus was from the Middle East and had Brown Eyes as described in their NT. However, the picture that Christians see is believed to be a portrait done of Cesare Borgia, the lover of DeVinci. Other portraits depict a blond Jesus, which was produced to attract Rich northern White people who purchased paintings.

It's not hogwash; I broke my leg in 3 places and crushed my heel & ankle, bleeding to death, I remembered everything; including the two doctors working on me, what all was said, done what they had on, I was floating above them watching, I was gone for 7 minutes, it seemed more like three weeks. I didn't want to come back, but was told that I had to; that I had too much left to do. I told the Dr. That preformed manual cpr and used the paddles on me, I told him everything that happened that I remembered, He turned white as a sheet, he cracked my breast plate, I was thankful to him, and wanted to thank him, the next time I saw him was about 6 months after this. When I told him and the doctor that was the surgeon working on me everything, including things that I was told while I was gone that were going to happen, and those things did happen. I was told things that were going to happen in the future, that Im not supposed to say anything about. Some of the things that I was told I could tell. The doctors and the nurses were shocked and in awe. They told me that I was gone for seven minutes; and that I had lost so much blood that they were close to calling it; I saw things going on like the bone saw. I have metal rods in my legs, I have a bolt across my ankle, two metal plates on top of my foot, & around my heel and they replaced my heel and ankle bones. There are more things I could tell you, but it's too much. But Thankyou for doing what you do, I wouldn't be here if weren't for people like you.

I lite it & noticed it was sparking, my little sister standing next to me. I got scared so I turned on the water to put out the sparks but it wouldn't turn off thats when I knew it wasn't a candle. I switched the candle fast to my other hand & push my little sister hard under the kitchen table & it blew up. It hit the newly remodeled kitchen ceiling & bounce back & hit me in my chest. Thats when I felt myself get up than saw my own body bleeding from my chest & hand. Than all off a sudden I was going super fast thru the ceiling. I than returned back as my grandma was doing CPR on me than flatlined again. Got to the hospital grandma carrying her suppply of blood to give me. In the local hospital I flatlined I believe 2 times more I was out of my body looking at the emergency room Dr & nurses working to save me. Than I flatlined again saw myself pale white on the table my mom in the er waiting room than I was going full speed up thru a very brighly lite tunnel straight up. I than stood in front of a golden gate that had the biggest beautiful white shining mansion & an old man at gate, he was starting to open the door when I told him I need to go back to my mom & I was sent back to my body. But on the was to another hospital i flatlined multiply times in the ambulance including demons, dead people and people that said were here to protect you. A few days later I had woken up thats when I was told I had flatlined a few times. Than I told them I know I saw the whole thing. Years later I flatlined during a simple operation again I could see everything the ER staff was doing and saying & I could also see other things as well we like dark shadows following certain people.
God never left me. The hardest part during that ordel was speaking but no one could hear me accept the man with a golden crown he said its not your time yet & sent me back. People still wonder how I'm still alive with all the stuff ive gone thru.

Don't blame them. How can you even communicate something like that?
Well someone took a shot at it. 2500 years ago in ancient Greece. Take a wild guess who it was. Here's a clue. "All of the western tradition is just footnotes to [ ]."
Worked with Aristotle, Euclid, and Socrates.
      Plato
Final half of book X of the Republic. Plato concludes his work with a near death experience. Written 2,500 years ago. And? It. .. Checks out. "Er" finds the light and has a life review. But is not permitted to pass. Because he's still alive back on earth.
And that's Plato. The most important philosopher of education that ever lived. Plato literally invented elementary, high school and college.
Talking about an NDE whose narrative structure matches up with what people report on CZcams 2500 years later.
      Plato.
That's how serious this shit is. I don't blame ppl for thier hesitantation. Because you literally have to invent "philosophy" out of whole cloth. To explain it. That's not easy at all. Indeed.

As I walked, the ground under my feet felt non existent, I’m assuming that out of my body I remained highly ungrounded for some time, I then had a fright & began running, grounding & all came back into synch…
another NDE at hospital aged 33 yrs, an internal haemorrhage, as I took my last breath, purely a miracle I was saved….
I’ve many testimonies, things happen all the while, the Lord came into my life at a very young age, not as a God but as a person, a friend & remained so evermore into my old age….Hes still my friend…
In all I’m very blessed, feel grateful…I believe there’s much more to this journey then can be spoken about or assumed & feel to take nothing for granted

I’m a retired nurse and have cared for many dying patients and many of them that were still alert would lay there looking all around the ceiling reaching out to what I thought were there loved ones some would call out to specific family members who had passed. Most of them always called out for mama. They were all very calm and seemed ready to go. Then there were many I cared for that may had dementia and they swore they couldn’t sleep bc of the kids playing all night climbing the curtains etc. so I know there’s something there bc it wasn’t just one patient saying something about the children playing. One night I went into a room bc a patient was calling out she was cold when I went into her room her blanket was laying in the middle of her room and she wasn’t able to move her arms or legs so I knew she hadn’t thrown it off and I asked her what happened and she said it was those children playing and hanging on the curtains all night!!

I never Met the guy before but he told me he was a medium. No One knew that my dad was dead that Morning apart from my aunt, his older sister and my mom Who lived with me. That guy (I still Remember his name) called me at 9 am and told me "Sorry tò Brother you but your father asked me tò tell you he's fine and never been more happy, stay happy too, I'm here besides you". The next two days he called me reporting things happened when we were together when I was Little that only my dad knew, not even my mom. My mind still was puzzled... At the third day he described a bracelet he gave me once when we were on vacation In 1968... At that point I understood that he was my dad speaking through that guy. There are millions of reports like mine around the world but in our materialistic society our mind Is closed tò the spiritual side of Life. My dad was a spiritual man but also very rational. He was a real mentor for me and I know I Will meet home again because we Will all merge together on the other side. Hello Mr McDowell and Dr Sabom. You were saying that you might have had more people in your personal group who had an experience then perhaps others outside of your group. Perhaps it was because you were a better doctor and you were able to save their lives and bring them back so they could tell their story. Well I had a near-death experience as well. When I was 5 years old I was living in Richland washington, and my brother and I both had tonsillitis. Mine was very severe, I had a bad infection and high fever even going into surgery. My brother was not so bad. That night after the surgery we stayed at my grandparents house. I slept at a side bedroom on a small twin bed and my brother was in the other room. Now I'm going to tell you about what happened, but first I want to tell you that God did not allow me to remember the event after it happened, but instead brought it back to me in a vivid Vision when I was 55 years old. In fact this is one of the reasons why I accepted christ. Anyway, I was sleeping in that bedroom and then all the sudden I found myself looking down at a bed with a small boy on it, needless to say I was confused . The boy was laying on his left side curled up in a fetal position, and to this day that is still the way I sleep, on my left side with my knees pulled up. And I wasn't standing in front of the bed looking down but I was floating above it. It seemed to me like the room was slowly revolving, but I believe it was my spirit was what was revolving and the room appeared to be revolving to my vision. As the room revolved I slowly floated upwards to the ceiling. As soon as I reached the ceiling I understood that the boy on the bed that I was seeing was actually me. He had the same corduroy brown pants and the same brown t-shirt on that I was wearing earlier. At that point I said hey that's me. As soon as I said that I felt a force like a giant hand push me back down into my body. I could feel the pressure on my back as I was being pushed back down . As soon as I was in my body I apparently went back to sleep or blacked out. The next thing I knew it was morning, and being a 5-year-old, I didn't realize that I was supposed to be deathly ill so I got up out of bed and went to the kitchen. My parents had told me years later that they thought I was going to die because I was so sick with fever and infection after the surgery. When I got into the kitchen I told my grandmother who was in there that I was hungry. She looked at me surprised that I was up and full of energy and hungry. She made me scrambled eggs with bacon bits in it, and I ate it with no problem, I felt no pain in my throat. The guardian angel that God had put to watch me during this life, had most likely put me back in to my body when he noticed my spirit had left my physical form. And not only had me put me back into my body but through the power of God he was able to give me my life back, heal the fever and the infection and even the surgical incisions from the tonsillitis were healed. One thing I recall is that I was able to see when I was in my spiritual body, I was able to hear, and I was able to feel the force of the push that put me back into my body. So apparently we have our senses. I was up and around and doing the things a 5-year-old does immediately after that. My brother took 3 weeks before he could even eat solid food, and he had been in better condition than me the night before. That let me know that we are Eternal beings, our time on this Earth is a learning time and it's time for us to choose God or satan. We are only here for a short time in this physical world, it is not as important as the Eternal time where we will be with the Lord or elsewhere. I live in Gainesville Georgia now, not far from covington. Lol. God bless you for your work not only as a doctor but as a researcher and as a christian. P. S. I was 55 when God brought the vision back to me, I'm 66 years old now.

My sister, her two children and I were with my mom when she passed away, however before she passed away she had quit breathing 18 times to the point that each time it happened, we thought she had died.., but then she'd start breathing again. The weird thing is, when she actually passed away, we all knew it because we could feel that her spirit had left her body this time. My sister and her two children weren't saved but they could feel the difference when mom actually passed away. I said it was a weird thing because even though we knew that she was no longer there because we could feel that her spirit had left her body, none of us could exactly explain how it is that we "felt it" happen, but we did.

God’s purpose for humanity today is to sit back and simply offer us the free gift of eternal life made possible by the sacrifice of his Son at Calvary. You’ll find the “link” to that gift in Ephesians 2:8&9 KJV. God is “not a respecter of persons” that he would grant any selected people extra-biblical revelation about the afterlife today; his Book is complete and sufficient to throughly furnish believers with the knowledge he wants us to have. Gee, who was the one that offered our first parents forbidden knowledge and started the whole problem? Bottom line: only those without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit by faith in Christ can even have a paranormal experience - because if they had the Holy Spirit, he would protect them from it.

@@racerx4152The problem with the scriptures you cite is that none of them apply to us believers today. We are living in the dispensation of the mystery, the revelation that Paul received after Acts ended and not before, Ephesians 3:9 KJV. (The mystery in Romans 16:25 is a different mystery, that the Gentile Greeks were added to the Jewish Acts churches. That was hidden in Israel’s prophecy but it had been there, Deuteronomy 32:21 KJV). The mystery Paul received after the Jews were let go in Acts 28:28-31 KJV was that the (regular unprophesied pagan Gentiles - you and me and everyone today) would now be eligible to be saved and become “fellow heirs” with Christ, Ephesians 3:6 KJV. We and all other believers today are that and the mystery is still the operating system today and until Christ appears, Colossians 3:4 KJV, receives his kingdom, Colossians 1:13 KJV, and makes of twain the saints of time past (Prophecy) and us, “the faithful in Christ Jesus,” Ephesians 1:1 KJV, to form the “one new man” of Ephesians 2:15 KJV.
The Mystery takes us right to and through the appearing and the kingdom so Prophecy is not going to return; it was canceled with the bill of divorcement that God gave Judah in Acts 28:28-31 KJV; he had already divorced Israel in Hosea so now both divorces are final, Jeremiah 3:8 KJV.
The Acts period to which the verses you cite belong was according to Prophecy - prophecy about the signs - like dreams and visions - that would accompany and identify the prophesied Messiah to the chosen people so that they would recognize and accept him. But do you see a kingdom around here anywhere? No? Then Prophecy is not just over; it’s cancelled. But consider this, if it hadn’t been forfeited by the first century Jews, you and I would not be here having this exchange!

My grandmother had a near death experience during surgery. She described it as floating in the air above her body and seeing her body, and that she didn't come back to her body until she heard her husband saying, her name and "come
Back to me" over and over as he held her hand. Next moment she was back in her body.

I was awake, not under any type of mind altering condition and clearly heard my grandmother say Goodbye and reference me by name.

My Mom and Our Lady by her side appeared to me 4 days after my Mom was buried. I know why she came back to me specifically was on the morning of her funeral, I got a phone call telling me I had 70% cancer result from a biopsy that I had.
It was covid time so this information was being discussed with doctors and patients by phone. They wanted to operate 2 days later. I had cared for my mother as dull time carer for 2 years before she passed and my mother was always the kind of woman that she showed appreciation to those that helped her and I know that's why she came back to me to return the favour and show support when I needed it. But I was blown away by it totally. Why Our Lady (Jesus's mother) was with my Mom was bcos she had been telling us all that for 6 months b4 she died Our Lady had been appearing to her. There's more about those appearances that verify the fact that she was telling the truth.. but we all laughed anyway and put it down to the ramblings of an elderly woman. That was provably another reason my Mom brought Our Lady back with her to prove that she was NOT hallucinating when she had been telling us Our Lady had been appearing to her for months before she died. I'll leave it at that .. there's more but I'm tired. God bless.

When I was 7, in 1958, I had a rare case of 'red measles' that appeared only in my mouth and in my body, and nothing outside of my body.
I was not in a hospital, but at home where I reached temperatures of 104ºF and started to hallucinate many times and my mother had to bath my body three times a day to keep my temperature down. She had been instructed by the doctor.
But during that time my hallucinations involved seeing the walls collapsing in my bedroom, where my oldest brother, 4 years older, was banging on the walls crying out stating 'Brian, I am keeping up the walls'. To this date he only remembers this about my sickness.
However, some of the hallucinations included, seeing a repairman coming to fix put the walls to put them back-up...also giant snakes, tarantulas, beetles, etc. crawling all over the floor and my bed...also my mother's arms cut off and she is bleeding profusely, she crying to calm me down saying, 'Brian, I am bathing you so they are not cut off'...also the drapes at the window of my bedroom turning into a narrow hallway where I saw Santa taking out toys to put into his bag, and coming to my bed to give me a Christmas gift which turned into bubbles and went into the air when I reached out to grab it...also even when I was getting better and sitting in the living room, and had my hand on the couch where I saw a tarantula under my hand. There was more to it my mother I had reminded me of, when I told the story.
My mother had passed away in 2003, so I cannot ask her what other things I went through.
But during all of this I had a NDE only rising above my bed and looking at myself on my bed two times during this sickness. This is the only thing I remembered about the NDE since I had never talked about that in those days.
Since coming to faith in the Lord Jesus in 1978, I only talked about this sickness after my faith in Jesus, since I had been fearful what this all meant back then. Knowing I am secured in Jesus, makes me not fearful any more.

I had a NDE when I was 12 or 13 that was a hellish experience that took me a good 10 yrs to get over. My experience was horrifying as I woke up in total darkness to a realness that was beyond real and it seemed my life up to that point had just been a dream and I had awoke to what would be eternity of blackness and loneliness multiplied by 10000. I called out for Jesus to please help me and I came to. My bad habits changed for the better and I know there is another life after life..

There's near death experiences, after death communication, pre deathbed visions, life between life sessions, pre birth memories, outer body experiences, and more avenues of research. All of those avenues connect and coincide with one another. It is simply amazing! This stuff is real. The best part is the underlying message of LOVE. God is love afterall.

    • @robertpreisser3547
      @robertpreisser3547 Před 7 měsíci +4

I don’t accept pre-birth memories. I find most of those were implanted memories and not true, verifiable ones. Nor do I accept the reality of after death communication…at least not by the actual departed loved ones. There are most definitely demons pretending to be those loved ones (and pretending to be Jesus or Abraham or Muhammed or whoever they need to get the person to trust them). Outer body experiences are real… the occult does this all the time. But it is also prohibited in Scripture do to this, and for good reason: you are left infinitely vulnerable and can be killed easily, by cutting the silver cord. The reason I’m pointing these things out is that there can be a tendency for people to take these experiences as justification to investigate false teachings and the occult, opening themselves up to real, dangerous deception. All of this has to be aligned with Scripture, to be true and trustworthy.

@robertpreisser3547 you're living in way too much fear. Pre birth memories totally align with NDEs. After Death communications are simply ways a departed loved one let's you know they're alive and well. There is nothing deceptive about that at all. In fact, after death communication research and pre birth memory research lines up perfectly with NDEs. I used to be that Christian caught up in fear of everything outside the Bible being deceptive but never again. Years of research as well as my personal encounter with Jesus Christ taught me differently. Praise the Lord!

One almost undeniable implication (except via cognitive dissonance) is that consciousness is NOT an epiphenomenon of the brain. Further, it suggests that consciousness exists in an extracorporeal field with the brain likely acting as an interface between this extracorporeal field and the functioning person in the spacetime mass-energy universe.

( in short). ... but this is a game changer and I'm mind blown. I will definitely get my hands on Dr. Mike's book to get the details on his research. This, I was thinking about it the whole interview. I was also thinking when people go to cardiac arrest, someone in the room should do something: clap hands, jump, put hands up in the air. Because "I saw him holding a toothbrush" is not very convincing. The toothbrush was there all the time, he didn't take it out of his pocket. Something should happen that people don't see and don't expect until they flatline. 2 months of this is a critical operating room, and you either have a murder or white crows or black crows. And no further guessing games.

I would welcome a sceptic to explain how some that have a n.d.e. can see and hear what is going on in another room or another building if their consciousness is only integral to the brain itself. You have to at least hypothesize that the consciousness-or the mind- may not be only integral to the brain.

@ellenlewis3133 it is interesting . Nobody has come back after a day and told us what death is. However some people have had near death experience and seen people that they didn't even know had even died at that time. Others have seen accurately what is going on around them when they have no measurable brain function at all. Even blind people, who have been blind from birth are able to see accurately what is going on. Therefore a brain based explanation of consciousness is impossible

Is it possible that the brain is not the producer of conciousness but rather a mechanism that filters in a tiny fraction of consciousness and when we "die" we are liberated from the limiting factors of the brain and experience full consciousness? Seems like a bit of a paradox, but it seems to be the case with a lot of the NDEs.

My brother in law had an NDE. He came back to this life as a changed man. Had you interviewed him, the first thing he would tell you is put that Bible down. You don't need to read religion into the experience. Heaven is not divided into sections for Jewish, Catholic, Baptists, etc. It made Jesus so angry, He was throwing tables around at the temple, because people can ruin anything, and that includes the spiritual relationship people SHOULD innately know and have with their Creator. I don't care what dogma you are partial too, it's non existent in Heaven. The Creator is Love. That is it. That is all. I am spiritual and my belief in my Creator (God if you will) grew exponentially once I removed the constraints from Church doctrine. Most people that have had an NDE and were interviewed by others express the same sentiment. Anita Moorjani also says there is no hell, and she is a pretty well known NDE. When I say this to people, they lose their minds, all because people are committed to the idea that there is some big punishment waiting in the afterlife for those who hurt us. If that was the case, we'd all be in Hell after this life, because there's not one person on this planet who was liked by everyone.

In 1980, the night before my grandmother passed from cancer, I was sitting with her. She was receiving morphine to quell the excruciating pain. The morphine put her into a stupor, so that I could not have a conversation with her, but I felt sitting by her and massaging her frail frame would give her some comfort.
Then I noticed a strange looking shadow on the apartment building next door. At first I was trying to figure out what would be causing the shadow. No explanation I could find. As I stared at it, I thought it looks like a silhouette. In the next instant, I thought it looks like my grandpa, who had passed 7 years before. I said to my grandmother I think I see grandpa, to which she responded, yes you do. Which shocked me, because for weeks, she didn’t communicate anything except to cry out in pain when the morphine wore off. But she knew he was there.
The next morning, as she passed, she got the biggest smile on her face, and reached out with both of her arms as if ready to grasp someone in a hug. My family said she was happy to know she was going to be out of pain, that was their explanation for it, and thought I was hallucinating about seeing my grandpa the night before. The same reaction I get from most people when I tell them about it.
But I knew, that was no hallucination, and realized then, there is way more going on around us than we can even imagine.
I was glad I was able to find that there were a couple books out there about the phenomena which I had just experienced. Dr Raymond Moody’s “Life After Life” and Dr. Elizabeth Kubler Ross’s “On Death and Dying”.

I've always wondered whether NDEs could be hallucinations induced by an oxygen-starved brain when the heart stops. But now I know that's unlikely because EEG flatlines 10-20 seconds after heart stops. So hallucination theory is unlikely unless EEG doesn't pick up all brain activity (false negative).

    • @kristheobserver
      @kristheobserver Před 6 měsíci +1

Even if there was some brain activity that the EEG didn't pick it up it would be so low level it could not generate consciousness.
