    100% agree not rugged enough. I’m really tired of having to use these lens covers and have slight stitching issues. Nice clip! I really need that detachable lens cover to prevent the condensation issues when in direct sunlight.

    Haha, I was half expecting the X3! 😀 Great. You'll love it! 👍 (The other half of my mind was expecting a self-flying drone like the HoverAir X1, but such a thing isn't as versatile as a 360 cam - not yet.)
    Small tip: I got myself a Manfrotto selfiestick that's sturdier _and_ longer than Insta360's offering. Thanks to that extra length, I can keep my arm closer to my body, which looks more natural, without having to mess with the angle of view when reframing. I also love to place my Insta360 X2 on a small tripod and add camera movement in post.
    I agree with most of your cons - though I shoot everything in 50FPS on my X2, so I can always add a bit of slo-mo. The extra editing time is indeed quite off-putting when you have a lot of footage and barely any time. Another major con, for me, is that you can't use ND filters, so no longer exposure times without overexposing your footage. The lack of motion blur makes the footage look pretty ugly and unnatural on very bright days. (It's for those reasons that I recently got myself the DJI Osmo Action 4. 🙂)
    To end on a positive note: in three years of using the Insta360 X2, I've only broken two (cheap) lens guards. Those cost me 25 euros, which is 20 (!) times cheaper than having to replace both lenses.

      Thanks for the input! Do you shoot 60fps in 4k then? I may have to do that and see the quality loss. I 100% agree with the lack of ND and shutter control for correct motion blur but I didn't get into that here since it's an "action cam" and most people using or looking to use this wouldn't understand that tech speak. I kind of learned to accept the unnatural motion with my GoPro a long time ago. I am more worried about stitch lines and flares with this camera than motion degrading the image quality. Also which lens guards are you using?

      Can't stand the high-shutter-speed look either, even though I typically shoot at a slighty-faster-than-180-degree angle myself. I've thought about experimenting with adding motion blur in post but have shied away because it takes a lot of processing time/power.

      @TheRollingRaptor Před 6 měsíci

      @@aldolega Yeah, and the artificial motion blur in Insta360s app is rubbish. But! Shooting in the golden hour before sunset, does seem to give some very nice results. :-)

      @@TheRollingRaptor Doesn't surprise me, probably not a priority for Insta as most people nowadays don't notice jerky shutter anyways. I was going to try Resolve's first and then see if there is a trial for Reelsmart, which seems to be the most legit option.

    I think my favorite thing about the 360 camera is that it makes me want to take it out when everything else feels too much of a hassle. It's great at picking up a shot you'd never bother to get because the skating was too fun or too fast.

    I love that camera, been using it more during skate sessions and it’s nice to not be scared that you missed something due to bad camera angles. And your skating still looks awesome!

    Welcome back.The new camera seems to do the trick. Video is sharp and there's nothing wrong with the sounds.

  • @joshcarter-com
    @joshcarter-com Před 6 měsíci +1

    Wow, video is looking GOOD. There’s some places where one camera is getting sun glare and the other isn’t so there’s a weird seam in the image, but most of it looks amazing. Really smooth and fantastic edits. One day I’ll get an Insta360 myself, but honestly most of my skating would make for boring videos.

      @ThirtyandRollin  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Ya there are some image imperfections from the lens guards which are less than desirable but I'll take them to protect the camera.

    I use love my Insta360 One RS 1-Inch. What i realy hate is the filesize and it's much more work to find the right clips and to edit them.

      I am happy the transition between skate flow and talking still includes the black bars. It’s a nice touch.
      Also, what software did you use to edit this video? I found the Insta360 app to be great for fast edits. But curious what you are using.

    Are you using lenses guard? It looks like a lot of glare when the sunlight is behind you.
    You are a very skilled skater! How long have you been skating?
    I love the X3 too as I don’t have to worry about the prefect angle. We can cherry pick the best angles during reframe process.
    I subscribed ❤

    Be careful with the lenses on these as they really do scratch easy. The camera on the stock tripod is top heavy and can easily blow over in the wind. Don't ask me how I know. Also, if using the glass lens protectors, they reduce the image quality and still break on impact, which is a real bummer because you spend extra money and they end up not providing protection.

    Off topic, but I came from your Endless 90 review video: You said back then that they felt a tad short on the 4x90 setup - do you have any thoughts on the Endless 90 ES with it's 291mm length for 4x90?
    I have 259mm feet and your video really got me thinking whether or not I might end up enjoying the ES (extra stability) version more.
    I am a beginner btw - currently on a run of the mill 4x80 and they are way to unstable for the current me. Does the added length interfere with crossovers later on?

    Super Widescreen mode sucks! If I paid a million bucks for a TV, I want to use the entire screen, not see only part of it, while there are black bars at the top and bottom. Please don't do this again!
