I loved how progressive this show was, in having Blanche be an older woman who is proud of her looks, and never fails to attract any admirers. I also admired how she told Rose that AIDS wasn't a "Bad Persons Disease", after Rose questions why she was at risk of contracting AIDS, and not Blanche.
Me too!
True
Ohh, she's the Best either being funny or serious; I also love the aids quote, she delivered it with the force and importance it deserved.
Amazing Rue ⭐💛.. 💜🌿
Amen
O
the waiter over hearing Blanche's convo and drinking her wine will be the death of me xD
Dead every time I watch it...😂😂😂
Comedy gold 😂😂
the writing is just impeccable, one of the strongest comedy in the history of television, Susan Harris is a genius and head of her times.
Yup. She wrote part 1 of Maude’s Facelift!
Chiiiiile.....Sophia talking "Southern" had me sooo weak! "We was po" 😂😂😂😂😭😭
Yeah that was classic. I’m still laughing at that line. God I love these ladies 😊💖😂
What does that mean?
"Your Southern accent comes & goes"
Sophia: "Grits alright?"
@@ManushriAnand We was po' = We were poor
@@musicaltheatergeek79 thanks for clarifying
I love how even though she's a "bed hopping relic", she clearly has refined taste. She doesn't like deadbeat, broke, and unorganized men. She still has standards.
"We was po'." Has to be the hardest laugh i've had in a long time
Even Betty White admitted that although she had played Sue Ann Nivens before, Rue McClanahan had put Blanche into orbit that Betty herself would have never dared to go.
I know, until Sue Ann, and ever since, Betty White has always been America's Sweetheart. How I miss her! I want her double dimples.
And I wish she were still with us.
@@MsSavagechef
Jennifer Lopez and Justin Pullin
Luis Luciano and Danielle Pullin
Kelly Hammond and Ronnie marrero
latianaLuciano and brandlynpursley
I think also there is a big difference between Sue Ann and Blanche. Sue Ann is rotten and rude, Blanche isn't rotten, in the words of Rose she's a good person, she's just horny all the time.
Rue McClanahan did credit to her role as Blanche D., but so did Betty White except Sue Ann Nivens was different and was out for one special guy called Lou Grant -but realized Lou would not sleep with her unless he was completely drunk which he did become. A funny and hysterical episode for Betty White.
I was very young when this show came out, I never viewed them as old, just as women
IIronically I was in my 30’s when this show 1st aired. Now I’m the age these women were when it was filmed. I can truly relate now.
2023 and I STILL keep coming back to this series; HILARIOUSSSSSS!!
💀💀💀💀
I know I do each time for "a good laugh."
Blanche surely was a character who brought quite a spark to this show . She truly brought the essence and energy which made this show epic .
P
its the combination: the naive, the intellectual, the vamp and the funny old woman
"OHH HOW COULD YOU BEN, BOB, BILL!?!"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Reminds me of the episode where Blanche thought she could be pregnant. Sophia: "Well, if it's a boy, she can name him after his father--Bill Bob John Joe Dave." 😂
😂blanche was definitely the funniest golden girl
I just adored her costumes. No wonder she arranged to keep them. I would just love copies! And oh my. That was supposed to be a motel room? I want it in my house.
Costumes were always so well coordinated in different colors! I will want some of their wardrobes.
it was hysterical to see a swing and a mirror front of the bed.
Lover boy part gets me everytime 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the writers were great and the actresses phenomenal
Me too
how did the story turn out? I've never really watched Golden Girls, just the compilations on CZcams, so I'm curious
Oh whatawonderfulnightthatwas 💞😃‼️.. 💜🌿
@@carenneetienne4449 he lied and was a pharmacist never in the army. I know Blanche broke it off with him but can’t remember much else. Was a good episode tho
@@Blahblahblah94 He was a pharmacist as a civilian. He did not lie :) they agreed to be friends.
Sophia and "WE WAS PO'" 😂☠️
Came here to look for this comment🤣
"You want a glass of water to wash down your foot?" 😂😂😂
Blanche had that super high-energy which gives her personality
That waiter has always been my favorite lol
"Nervous? Me? Wheelchair!" 😂 😂 😂 😂
Ted: Thanks for everything.
Sophia: Why? You didn’t get everything😭😭
Ted: I dont want to put you out...
Blanche: But I like to put out!
😂😂
I laugh every single time, one of my fav Sophia lines 😂😂😂😂😂
Love those funny Golden Girls..may they all Rest in Paradise..🙏😇😇😇😇🙏
Gods not answering at the moment the Golden Girls have laughing 😂
I still can't believe that they're all gone. And I am not ashamed to admit that that fact hurts a lot. RIP Estelle Getty (July 25, 1923 - July 22, 2008), Bea Arthur (May 13, 1922 - April 25, 2009), Rue McClanahan (February 21, 1934 - June 3, 2010), and Betty White (January 17, 1922 - December 31, 2021). You will all be missed. A lot.
“Well mercy me, looks like my little magnolia done turned into a big ho” sent me 🤣🤣🤣
😆😆😆
Lol
Big Daddy was throwing cousins off right & left.
We was po.
I’m a h0 too oop
🤣🤣🤣🤣
You forgot Jason, the theater buff she was dating while using her granddaughter as her own daughter. She mentions how Jason wants to have a baby of their own, and Dorothy suggest Blanche wait a few more years and Medicare will pay for the baby 🤣😂
and sophia says, why wait have it now and the enquirer will pay 4 it!!!! it was the best 1, 2 puch in the series 😂😂😂😂
@@HallsofAsgard96when I tell you that line took me OUT!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
@@Mynameistyshawn
Whenever I think abt that scene it cracks me up. Bea Arthur could barely keep it together.
I remember that line and it was hysterical. Love those writers of this show.
In an alternate universe, Blanche is Samantha’s (from Sex in the City) mother! 😊
Yesssss lolol.
I guess that's the reason why I love them so so much 🤣
In that episode with Ken Howard (who is 6'6" tall), there is a really lovely scene where he explains to Blanche what he believes dating should be like for a man and a woman, and it clearly was something Blanche hadn't been very familiar with but deep down wanted to be .... treated like a lady.
I loved the two of them in the The Man in the Brown Suit.
@@AviationCommercials I had to look that up ... a tv movie from 1989. I didn't know they had worked together in a project. Cool.

“She has a bus pass” LMAOOO
There isn’t any actress in the world, ever who could portray Blanche Devereaux, the way, Rue McClanahan did. She was sweet she was sexy, she was feisty, and she she was hilarious. Rue had excellent comic timing and could create chemistry and awkwardness equally well and there will never be any one like her!
I miss this show especially Rue McClanahan as Blanche. It may not be anything like me but it's nice to know women of that age can behave in that way as men do at this age.
These ladies make my day, everyday! it's 2022 and they´re still HILARIOUS! 💙
*every day
I still watch the Golden Girls almost daily...
Agreed! They better not try to remake it!
They. Wouldn't. DARE.
I never get tired of watching this show,,Blanche was always so good no matter what the situation she was in she always could find her way out..and very good at it.🤣😃🌹🤣😃
Rue was the youngest Golden Girl, twelve years younger than Bea and Betty, and ten years younger than Estelle.
Rip Rue, gone too soon can't believe she'd be 88 now😢💕💐⭐
I can't count 🐑
I'm allergic to wool 😂😂
This why Blanche is my favourite. Omg she is so funny but have her emotional and serious moments. Love Blanche. ❤️
She was also a superb actress!!! Her role as Blanche was perfect!!!
The others were stronger comediennes, probably, but Rue was the best actress. I think that's why they gave her parts with more serious topics, and her character had such range. Yes, she was vain and selfish sometimes, but that's what worked... that she could sometimes learn from her flaws and be a better person. She was also a good balance between Rose's cluelessness and Dorothy and Sophia's wisdom and sarcastic natures.
The themes for the Golden girls videos are never ending, I love it!
I m 39 and I still watch it almost every day!
Golden man from Israel 🙏✌🌹❤🇮🇱🕎✡

21:13 - I've always LOVED Blanche's RED, BLUE, & GREEN bow dress.
It was amazingly chic !
That one is adorable, but I loved all her clothes!
"LOOK WHO I'M TALKING TO!"
Blanche was always putting Dorothy down. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
That music lover comment was hilarious
Jokes on them with the coveting of big butts to come hence BBLs.
I loved the accent how she said "Dorothy"....sooo Southern!!
"The One that Got Away" is hilarious 😂
The 80’s furniture and clothes style reminds me of my Grand-mom’s house, God rest her soul!!
You forgot to put the virgin priest on new year's Eve. That was so hilariouous!
Let me get this straight.. You've never...never ever 😊?.. 💜🌿
@@aleolidemu6169 Oh, God... this brings out the artist in me. 😂
Ive seen these scenes in one form or another at least a hundred times. And I will watch them another hundred and love them like its the first time seeing them.
That’s exactly how I feel, it never gets old and makes me laugh out loud like the first time I saw them
@@tallisinwonderland4724 very true

I've seen them all dozens of times as well, and I howl with laughter every time!!! They never grow old!!!
😂Which set of gifs is that? Will the sets of gif sessions be ending too soon leaving the rest of us with too much house and yardwork?
That very young man is the most gorgeous dumbbell I have ever seen. And wow, Blanche was quite a quite forceful character. I love Sophia too. Even late at night, in her bathrobe, she has a death grip on that purse.
Her purse thing is hilarious, the New York never left her.
😂😂😂 right
These ladies are sooo hilariously funny 🤣. I laugh at all of them all the time 😂😂😂😂😂...etc
WE WAS PO' .... ALWAYS GETS ME HAHAHAHA 18:05
🤣🤣
My favorite scene. 😆😅🤣🤣😅😆
We sho do!
I felt bad for Blanche when she really thought that Dirk would take her seriously.
"We was poah!"
"We showe do!"
🤣
It is not WAS, it is we WERE...
"Grits alright?"
I don't think there will ever be a show like this ever again. This was way before my time, but boy do I love it, I enjoy it very much. Sad that they are all gone 😢 if they only knew how amazing they were then and even more so now. My friends and I talk about this show and get good laughs, I'd rather binge watch this show than any other garbage show out there.
The actin in this wonderful comedy was sublime .I don't know if any sitcoms now that has me laughin my head of every second .rip ladies you were comic icons .
VERY poignant episode when Blanche dates John Quinn. The thing she had ALL OF HER LIFE were her looks, and when those looks were jeopardized by a man who couldn't see her, it scared her.
John Quinn was played by actor Edward Winter who played Colonel Flagg on the TV show, mash. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Funny tidbit (whether intentional or not) is that in Blanche's line “Oh, how could you, Ben, Bob, uh, Bill?” the names are the same as the names in the story about her losing her virginity. "That night under the dogwood trees, the air thick with perfume, and me with Billy... or Bobby? Yeah, Bobby. Yeah, it was Bobby... or was it Ben? Oh, who knows! Anyway, it started with a B!”
“I don’t know I never tried to turn it off”
“I like to put out”
“He’s gonna be standing up with his clothes on”
I've been binge watching this videos of The Golden Girls, I forgot how really funny this show was, each of the ladies brought something special to the show, making each a truly important part of the show, that couldn't be replaced!
I wish they put the episode where she relived her moment with her husband George
Blanche was dreaming about her dead husband, George. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
6:03 is when Ham thought decades ago when he slept with Blanche's sister Virginia that it was Blanche. Later on when he stopped by to Apologize to Blanche he found out that the awful lover back then was Virginia and immediately started chasing after Blanche who gladly turned him down over and over again.
wow, that last one in the end. considering it was the 80s, to depict healthy sexual relationships between friends was amazing
I love the "Blanche and the Younger Man" episode ❤
I do love a lot of her outfits, so chic 😁 love!
Oh my God. I love Blanche.
What a gem these golden girls are!!!
Omg first time I've seen this for many years ahhhh sweet memories absolutely hilarious forgot how funny it was the golden girls nothing on tv compares to this classic sitcom ❤❤❤❤
I wanna be like Blanche when I grow up
"waiter!...86 the watercress... I'll have the orange duck and a double jack daniels on the rocks.". not the jack...but that's the only thing that will make it right...
16:20 oohh that reaction!!!
Rue, you were the Best.
Love her ⭐💛.. 💜🌿
I feel truly sad, but Golden girls all have gone too soon 😢💔, she died year 2010, she is the youngest one on the show, and she is hilarious, I truly miss Golden girls, it was fantastic show ever I never miss, while I was working in Dubai, Channel 33, on the TV, my heart goes each of everyone 😢, RIP legends 😢❤♥
Jerry was always one of my favorites for Blanche. He was old fashioned, and treated her like a lady. But my absolute favorite is when she has a dream about her husband coming back...
He was mine too but it is sad that those kinds of men are not around anymore.
@@homegown1234 ~ This is true, unfortunately...
I can't believe this clip left out the best date of all, the caterer Jake who was going to propose to Blanche. How could he be left out lol
Classics like this will always be enjoyed by many! 🤗
This show really makes someone want a "pick me up a bit" moment which Blanche delivers 100%.
Blanche killed me. ⚰️🔥
LOL! I don't remember Stonewall on the Victory tour! That would have been a sight!
Been watching all the episodes of GG again (for the umpteenth time - I watched the original series). Loved it then and still love it now.

blanche's hair. it has the strength of steel! it's so weird you don't see many 'golden' girls wearing the same hairstyles as the girls did. i think that's what made them seem older than they were. their faces and skin were great! no puffyness. madonna is the same age as dorothy. we could have dorothy's face and maybe one of madonna's hairstyles.
Blanche and bill she’s such a sweet person trying not to hurt this man
1:47 he was not into her🤣🤣🤣🤣
Top 10 dates?! But she's a nymphomaniac. You can do top 100 in several parts, hey!
Blanche is my favorite
How could you Ben.....Bob... ...uh Bill 😂😂😂😂😂
This reel sounds more like Blanche's top ten "foot in mouth" incidents!!
" We was po " I love Sophia
I've watched this show since literally the first season. No one loves or know this show more than me 😉🤷♀️
I truly can't express how this show (the girls) have helped me through some extremely stressful, hard, depressing times. Every clip they're showing I know all the episode names. Fr. The date "Ham" the server with the champagne, I always crack up & sometimes I reeind it. I know this show line for line. Now on cable they cut out so many scenes, drives me crazy.🤦🏻♀️🥵🤬

I remember Designing Women had an episode where the "toast of the town", Delta Burke as Suzanne Sugarbaker dated a blind man. She was freaked out by, as her sister put it, "by not seeing her he could really SEE HER" and it frightened her. He was not fooled by the ruse, so he could see the real woman. Plus she made all the verbal "slip of the tongue" mistakes Blanche did.
by far my fave character in this show. love her accent too
Even today 12/2/2023 the GG will be the funniest sitcom ever
That Rose moment at 12:10 is so funny. 😂
I've had a stressful week. Rewatching these compilations is helping. The first Jerry was a s*lutshaming jerk.

The expressions on the waiters face just wonderful
I thought for sure the waiter was going to grab Blanche and kiss her - he was that turned on. No wonder the Queen's mother loved this show. It probably made her feel young at her age.
