  • Diagonal peyote stitch, and my attempt to explain it. Thank goodness for people like Melinda Barta, who really knows her stuff!
I used size 8/0 seed beads, 8lb Fireline and a size 12 beading needle.
Show me what you've made with this stitch!

My camera may be haunted. Crazy zooming and panning going on. I can't explain it.

Hi, always a pleasure to watch your videos. This stitch reminds me of the one used to bead Russian leaves.

I love this stitch too. I taught myself from a book, and made one of my favorite
necklaces with it--it has dangles hanging from the edge beads--the beads which
face down with spaces in between. If that makes any sense. I used Aiko hex beads
and glass drops. LOVE your videos and your sensibility. Thank you for your generosity!!

Thank you for the video. Am definitely going to try it. I have some lovely silver beads leftover from another project that I thought I could use as dangles for a pair of earrings! Thanks again:-))

Ali from Potomac Bead Co. posted a tutorial on making a bracelet using the diagonal peyote stitch with 3 colors of superduos and 1 color of 11/0, if you haven't watched it take a look it's a real pretty bracelet and you like to try new things. I hope you like it.

Dear Google, please stop marking posts from my friends as "spam," and for crying out loud, let me reply to comments you marked as "spam," after they've been approved by me. (I HATE these new comment features!) Also, since you've allowed links in comments, then freaking allow them and shut up about it. Not every post with a link is spam. Let me be the judge of that. Geesh!

Teresa, speaking of Melinda Barta...have you ever seen her video she did called "Stuff Beaders Say"? You have gotta see it, it's so funny. It kinda reminds me of your "bead hoarding" video. "Oh the shame of bead hoarding". I love that video. This is a really cool stitch, BTW. Hope Santa brings you Melinda's book.

So cool! I LOVE finding new ways to bead! Did you see that guy on here that does whole rows of beads after the first initial couple of rows? I think I shared it with you on Facebook. I guess he deleted the video because it's not on my list anymore. I will look to see if I can find the link again. ♥

use the stop bead as the first bead you sting instead of worrying about it. Seen it done by others on youtube works just fine.

I hate that I can't figure out how to always see the video comments. When I pull up a video, I don't see any comments, I see the following "Safety mode has hidden comments for this video. Show hidden comments" I can't find this so called safety mode....
