It will only last as long as the base plate this problem needs addressing I'm about to order a 60x12 wide beam and this is my only concern spoke to a great guy at Aintree boats who explained how it is welded and it's good but if anyone out there has a method to make it last longer speak up

Take it to Debdale wharf (on a truck because it will not fit down the canal 😂) and get it grit blasted and Zinc sprayed. Repeat the process every 20 years and it will last forever. Not sure if anyone else in the country offer this service but Debdale certainly.

Yes, she has been built using recycled or repurposed materials everywhere possible, and anything that had to be sourced new came from only a short distance away from the workshop. She was handcrafted, including all bespoke woodwork from sustainably sourced oak and walnut, without using heavy machinery (just the old school methods!). Linen has been used throughout the boat, created from fibres that naturally grow as part of the flax plant, which requires minimal water, energy or pesticides and on top of that is sustainable. There’s little waste in production, and the fabric is recyclable and naturally biodegradable. Any material left from this project has been gifted over to another project to avoid waste.
These are just a few examples of her sustainability. She is luxurious, yes, but built to last and with sustainability at the core of the project.
