    In my experience, you only ever see the problem inside a carb about half the time. The other half you look for trouble like you did, and not finding anything, you put it back together and it runs great. Great days to you and family !

    Thanks for the video. I was having same exact problem with mine until 5 minutes ago. Fix was actually to tighten up the 2 nuts which attach the hose conecting the carb to the air filter. I have 2 of these units doing same high and low idle and they both got fixed by this method.

    Getting ready for an upcoming storm, I fired mine up and had the same issue. I was going to order a new carb, but watching your videos, I realized I also did not clean the spark arrestor. I'll clean it this evening and hopefully that's all.

      @@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid I got too excited and did it on my lunch break. Sure enough, the cone screen looked mostly clean, but had some carbon build up. Sprayed it with carb cleaner and it purrs like a kitten. Sorry for you spending the extra money, but you sure saved me some. Definitely subscribing

    My Westinghouse WH2200iXLT has the same carburetor. It was always a PITA to start and eventually stopped running unless it was on full choke. Took the carb apart and cleaned it and still wouldn't run without full choke. So I replaced it with a cheap afermarket carb from Amazon and it started on the first pull of the cord. It NEVER started on the first pull before.
    I think the original carb was defective from the start. I just can't figure out what is wrong with it.

    The problem was in that pilot jet. When you ran the needle through it more than likely cleaned it out.

    Those little carbs are really easy to work on and usually just need a little cleaning.

    Never enjoyed messing with carnuretors, especialy with ethynol mixed in with our gasoline. Good luck with it.

    Where did you order the carb from? I'm looking for a spare

    The carb looks good, bet it was the spark arrester, it’s the number one offender for rough running inverters. Curious, we’re you running ethanol gas or ethanol free gas. If you ran ethanol I’m impressed the carb looks so good.

      87 octane regular 10% ethanal gas. I agree it was probably the spark arrestor. Still running great. Thanks for watching .

    What type fuel were you using? Did you use stablil or some trufuel? Was it non-ethanol gas?

    Did you clean out the jet that is on top of the carburetor? That is what was causing the surging of my gp2200i.

    • @marvinschwartz2803
      @marvinschwartz2803 Před rokem

      That is correct. That is the one that usually causes the surging.
