    Just Happened! SpaceX Flight 5 Starship Unleashed Big Fury. NASA Starliner Safety Warning...
    The recent successful static fire test on May 8 marks a significant milestone for SpaceX's Flight 5. After two previous attempts on May 7, recorded as cryogenic testing for the S30, the successful ignition has alleviated any concerns.
    Just Happened! SpaceX Flight 5 Starship Unleashed Big Fury. NASA Starliner Safety Warning...
    SpaceX's determination to conduct the static fire test remained steadfast, underscoring their commitment to ensuring the readiness of the S30. This successful test is a testament to their dedication to the mission's success.
    The preparations for the static fire test on May 8 were meticulous, with the fuel loading process commencing around 10:45 am. As expected, the frost lines appeared, indicating that the liquid oxygen tank was fully loaded, mirroring the second attempt on May 7.

    So is ValveTech the supplier to Boeing of the corroding valves that delayed Starliner for about a year? Do they provide any valves to ULA that are used on the Atlas V? How is an Atlas problem in any way caused by Starliner?

    Starship will be upgraded! Its "belly" will be flattened, should be similar to motorboats bottom, because arc belly is the reason why the last time Starship rotated during reentry. I don't know any boat with arc bottom, all are flattened, or equipped with wide skids. Imagine what would happen if we put a pipe, similar in size and diameter to Starship or starship booster, on the surface of the water. It would rotate spontaneously, when wind would blow, because all-round shape can't oppose rotational movement. Tires are round shaped for this reason. Put a floating pipe on water (remember "banana boats" in summer?) stand on it, and try to keep equilibrium. It's hard even if someone sits on it, yes? So why Starship should act differently in atmosphere, not as banana boat on see close to the beach? To starship atmosphere is like water, because its speed is 40000 km/h. If Starship had flat "belly" like a space shuttle, it would be easier to slide over the surface of atmosphere, starship wouldn't rotate, it would be easier to control it, in case of starship to put tiles on it. It would be controllable, what a beautiful word to Elon. Have you ever seen on see surface, close to the beach "banana boat" pulled by motorboat? The "banana boat" is jumping over and over above the water! Looks familiar? Starship did the same during the last reentry, yes? It will take 2-3 months I suppose, to make inevitable structural changes of the starship, so we should not expect that the next Starship launch will be in weeks or days. If yes, maybe for some other reasons, just to show that there is strong will to make progress, not improving its structure and performance. Lost money!

    I appreciate what Nasa has done, but it's riddiculous that we're spending 4 billion per launch with a SLS rocket, when we could just use Starship that cost 10 million a launch (less than 1% of that cost per launch). The starship will also be able to carry more and go faster/farther. And all that in taxpayer money.

    • @dougr550
      @dougr550 Před měsícem

      I feel like "fail fast" is how a consultant or casual observer watching a team doing iterative development would describe the process. It's definitely not the focus which could be better framed as Build > Test > Learn. Under certain conditions we may expect failure during testing in order to facilitate learning, but it's at most an artifact of an iterative development process.

    • @jamescobban857
      @jamescobban857 Před měsícem

      Starliner is on a fixed cost, not cost plus, contract. Boeing cannot renegotiate to cover increased costs because SpaceX is making billions of dollars of profit even though it was paid only half as much as Boeing. The current test, and the next six production missions, have *already bern paid for* . That means that Boing must carry them out with no further payments from NASA. SpaceX has already budgeted assuming that Boing will fly the 6 production missions to the ISS and Sierra DreamChaser will make cargo deliveries. Specifically SpaceX only has one more Dragon under construction, despite increased commercial demand from Axiom, Polaris, and the UK space agency, among others. A key point is that Boing Starliner, like the Orion capsule and the SLS booster, has only one possible customer, NASA, and that is only because Boing and its partners have BRIBED Congress to extort NASA to buy from Boing.

    • @jasonaiken2
      @jasonaiken2 Před měsícem

      @@jamescobban857 so what your telling me is boing is losing money. Come on !!

    • @jamescobban857
      @jamescobban857 Před měsícem

      @@jasonaiken2 I am explaining that Boing would lose even *more* money if it did *not* deliver the 7 flights it has *already* been paid for. Furthermore it is still hoping that BO will hire Boing for deliveries to the mythical Orbital Reef space station. If Boing *cancels* the 7 flights it would have to pay NASA over $2B so NASA can buy replacement flights from SpaceX and Sierra. Boing believes that will not cost Boing $2B to deliver those 7 flights. SpaceX has already planned on selling future Crew Dragon missions to other customers. It would actually be inconvenient to SpaceX if Starliner and DreamChaser did *not* succeed, because SpaceX would have to build more Dragons to meet demand.
