My house was built in 1963. I drilled a hole in the wall in one of my walls and there was no insulation in the wall. There was about about R-24 in the attic. I blew in insulation in the walls and went to R-60 in the attic. Very low energy bills these days.
Of all the careers you could've chosen, you decided to be a home wrecker. Nice job getting that place leveled. For the last few I've seen from your channel, every time you go into fast mode, it makes me think of an old B-horror movie like Godzilla, King Kong, or the many of the 60's -80's flare with its herky-jerky motion. my old house was originally built in 1917, and additions added in later years , so no insulation, the heat bills were through the roof until i started heating with wood
Amazing how fast you can demolish one of these houses. I've been operating for close to thirty years and have yet to bring down a house. Maybe one day I still shall. Thanks for sharing this awesome video friend.
I know its a wide-open question but approximately how much does it cost to have a house around that size torn down? My Dad left me two houses, i live in one. The other is in absolutely horrible condition.
I did my first demo back when I was 12 and all we ever use was a 983b and still have & use that old girl today now and then Ha.. and our daughter who is now 30 can run it like riding a bike.
Probably just to keep the homeless people from seeking shelter in it like every other abandoned building these days , people would rather rip down unused houses instead of turning them into a furnished space for the people who need a place to live and can't afford to get a place.
I've grown to like older small looking houses like this. My grandparents had a house like this during my childhood during the 80's and 90's but I didn't pay it no real attention back then. From the outside they look small but will have sometimes have a total of 5 bedrooms in it. Houses like this arent always healthy to live in.
With a basement, all that torn down material would go into the basement as he tracks forward. He would compact it, and then sit on it further into the home.
This is the problem with society these days tear down the older homes cause people want some new giant ugly looking house with no character an craftsmanship they rather live in a house that built With low quality wood an materal an make it so it so expensive
That’s not always true- our 1960’s home on the coast has flooded multiple times and the county won’t let us restore it- they’re forcing us to tear down and build up on pilings!
When demolishing with a digger your actually supposed to keep pushing away from you & not pull towards you, but no danger here as this is is timber & not a solid block or stone construction

There are no laborers. There's an excavator (with operator) and a truck (with driver). The excavator crushes it up and loads it onto a truck, which hauls it away and dumps it. They don't pick it up by hand.
@Home Wrecker I own a large Demolition company. I know how it works. Trust me there should be a laborer on the job especially after this method of demo.

It is interesting as to why it’s being demolished. Maybe the area was re-zoned commercial or something.
Agreed. That old lumber is probably still like new.

May I ask why do we spray water throughout the process ?
To reduce the amount of dust.
Is the water to reduce dust from spreading everywhere?
In theory, yes.
Any information on why it was torn down? Abandoned? Fire? Mold? Haunted?

nice demolition
That’s how to flat pack a house
The carpenter will have a lot to do before he restores all that.
Why was such a nice house demolished? Would be nice to know.
What was the purpose of spraying it with water? Was it because it contained asbestos?
No asbestos requires a much different demo.
All of the asbestos is removed prior to demolition, and the water is just to keep the dust down.
To keep the dust down.
