That was really really good explanation. I discovered one thing I was doing wrong. I was doing the Mach Tornado with double squares then jump then x4 squares instead of one square. Also I tried to do both Mach Tornado and Hobslide with circle (for the first slide) but I couldn’t for ages, I recommend doing it with R1, it would be much easier to do the spin jump after that then chainslide back with circle & square since R1 is much more inconsistent Tip: It would be also better if you recorded your controller along with the explanation (for some tricks) but it was helpful nonetheless 👏🏼
Using R1 is something that could help some people out I didn't think of that. when I first learnt to hobslide I tried with R1 and it wasn't as good for me so circle was my preference and I know a lot of other good players use circle too. I don't have a webcam or anything to record my controller i'm afraid so I tried my best with what I had :)

Yeah analog doesn't give you as much free control when on the side scrolling levels, diagonals are pretty much impossible with it. Good luck with the hobsliding I know you'll be a legend at it :)
They should've create analog features detailly same as the original CB2-3. i feel like it's still hard to walk slowly lol and thanks. mastering a hobslide still takes much time since i've heard about that for the first time X'D

I tried this on N sanity beach, Jungle rollers and all sorts and on those its slower. Maybe because Toxic Waste is a flat uphill ramp opposed to a bumpy uphill on N Sanity Beach? I'm actually playing crash bandicoot huge adventure on my game boy advance and I'm going crazy trying to figure out what I need to hold or push to make him go from one spot to another when there's a big gap between them and supposed to use the spin move to make him float longer in mid air , don't know what to push to do that any help would really be Appreciated , sorry for the long comment 👍✌😥

I keep a complete list of my records and how-to guides for each one of the 27 leves I've beaten the developer time, I couldn't post it on any Walkthrough site so I could never talk with anyone about this and it's been 12 years I'm trying to beat all 30 Developers Times which, formerly, I've beaten 25 on NTSC but then switched to PAL for some "privileges" and I've got 27 there.
Well i've just found out spin jumping is faster on Lights Out. its 2 frames faster at the 19 split so some testing might need to happen with other levels
You don't have to sprint for hobsliding but if you're looking for a way to have both then you can gate clip into warp room 4 to skip N Tropy. I said that because thats how I learnt it. It would be the easier way for someone to pick up how hobsliding works. It took me like 4 months or so til I was able to not mash lol

I think the analog stick, at full tilt, is just slightly faster than the D-Pad.

One I would like to learn is on N sanity beach when your jumping on the boxes on the stairway to the top. That spin jumpy thing.
There's really only small jumps and spins I don't know what to say lol its Crash 1 with simple movement tech xD

Spin jumping off boxes. Anyone can do on original trilogy with ease. NST requires flip jump and more timing. Well shit
Yep the spin jumping off boxes is annoying. The only thing I can really say is play around with the timing and it will sort of be muscle memory to you
