Η Συκαμινέα, Συκαμιά ή Σκαμνιά είναι ημιορεινό χωριό στη Λέσβο. Σύμφωνα με το πρόγραμμα Καποδίστριας ανήκε στον Δήμο Μηθύμνας, με το πρόγραμμα Καλλικράτης στον Δήμο Λέσβου, ενώ σήμερα σύμφωνα με το πρόγραμμα Κλεισθένης ανήκει στο Δήμο Δυτικής Λέσβου. Σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2011 έχει 169 κατοίκους. Βρίσκεται στο βορειοανατολικό άκρο του νησιού, σε υψόμετρο 300 μέτρα,[2] στις βορειοανατολικές πλαγιές του όρους Λεπέτυμνος, 49 χλμ. βορειοδυτικά της Μυτιλήνης.[3] Στη Συκιαμιά γεννήθηκε ο λογοτέχνης Στρατής Μυριβήλης.

Το χωριό έχει χαρακτηριστεί παραδοσιακός οικισμός. Τα σπίτια του χωριού είναι πετρόκτιστα. Ανάμεσα σε αυτά βρίσκεται η οικία του Μυριβήλη, η οποία όμως δεν είναι επισκέψιμη. Στο χωριό λειτουργεί λαογραφικό μουσείο το οποίο στεγάζεται στο πετρόκτιστο κτίριο του δημοτικού σχολείου. Στο μουσείο βρίσκεται και συλλογή με αντικείμενα του Μυριβήλη. Η εκκλησία του χωριού είναι η τρίκλιτη βασιλική της αγίας Φωτεινής. Το χωριό περιβάλλεται από ελαιώνες, πεύκα και πλατάνια. Επίνειο του χωριού είναι η Σκάλα Συκαμινιάς, όπου βρίσκεται η εκκλησία της Παναγίας της Γοργόνας και η λεγόμενη μουριά του Μυριβήλη.[4]
