I am a huge fan of hockey tape. It works wonders instead of medical tape and it is cheap and very durable/long-lasting as well as comfortable against the body. Hockey tape is available at most sporting goods stores for only a few bucks a roll and has some friction qualities so it keeps the holster and gun from moving around and shifting under your garments. It's also most usually available in black which matches the kydex nicely. I did exactly as you showed -wrapped the entire holster as well as let the foam go down and around the muzzle area to increase the keel effect and pad that area too for those times when I'm bent over double hard it does really help the poking. I get almost a year of daily carry before the tape needs to be touched up.
Pistol packing for 50+ years and learned something new ! Former lawmen get lazy about concealment because they have a "mastershield" to bail out of social errors of being detected, and civilian business types too, because its "assumed" that the clean cut dapper gunslinger is an offduty or plain clothes Officer. Have Gun Will Travel must be discreet.
Awesome. Love how instead of explaining how cheap holsters suck, and you need to buy an Enigma or Phlster Pro, this video is more about IF you have a cheap holster, here's what to do to make it work.
Thanks for not selling me anything....but i'm going to buy something anyway! :) I'm a huge fan of people putting out content to benefit others without hard selling every time.
Thank you! I think people are over the “hard sell,” in general. Everyone knows that not everything is the best, most game-changing, innovation in the world, and that those adjectives probably won’t have anything to do with their user experience, at the end of the day.
Thank you for all the work you do with your channel. You helped me understand lots about CC. Can you make video about carrying full size guns(G17, Echelon...)? Or it is all just the same principles? Thank you.
The concealment principles are the same, however, the gun may exceed your concealment sweet spot, which will require you to dress around the gun to a certain extent. We are working on a video that will go into a few more details on concealing a gun that is proportionally larger than the individuals concealment sweet spot. Keep an eye out for that in the next month or so!
I love conceal carry because it feels patriotic, safe, and cool at the same time; sort of like a secret agent protecting thyself and public. The only drawback, in my humble opinion, is the weight (full-size gun + spare mag) and ocasional discomfort (it’s a foreign object stuffed inside the jeans). Tradeoffs for an equalizing tool should crime ever present itself. 🤨🇺🇸
Interesting. I have an inexpensive Kydex IWB holster with one of those plastic clips that don't always hold on the belt well. So I am thinking about getting some Kydex sheets and make a 2" long "tunnel" loop. The clip attaches by two screws so I can drill it so that it makes an IWB cross draw that won't pull out with the gun.
Over the years, I have added a wedge, added a claw, added more wedge, made the claw higher, ...! Should I strip my holsters down to nothing added and start over?
I made the claw on my Vedder Light Tuck holster bigger and taller by using a piece of PEX plumbing pipe. I cut a slot in the pipe and slid it right over the claw. To keep the PEX extension in place I wrapped it with hockey tape which also added some soft friction to keep the rig from moving around under the beltline. The softness is easier on the fabric of the waistline than raw plastic which can rub a hole eventually in your garment at that point.
Constantly amazed at your companies presentations. Both you and your wife are always to the point and concise with your excellent advice.
Thank you! It’s the editing which keeps us concise 😂

You're selling people on knowledge and skill. Great company/people.
This should be in every permit class across the country.

you may be able o look into a difeent clip. i swapped my cheap plastic clip for a good metal one and its done wondrs for retention for me.
“DCC Monoblock” is a great replacement metal clip for this style of attachment.
