I've been producing basic Breakcore songs and I honestly loved this tutorial so much and how you went in depth. What I loved most about this is that you were prompting beginners to pick up a DAW and start making breakcore with no matter how many mistakes and errors you do until you get the one you like. I think Breakcore is a genre that can be explored.
it's a crime for this video to be this underrated, I felt like I was watching a shitposter that had 2milion+ subs, and I loved it all. Hope I can see more content like this.

@@Vergence yeah I really shouldn't have more subs than you from playing a $4 cube game. hopefully the algorithm gets its shit together sometime and you can break through :))
I know they were jokes, but Applecore and Earthcore are both real genres XD (also finally someone making a tutorial who understands the history of the genre, and that it’s not just ambient dnb!)
i'm going through a personal crisis and decided to continue drawing and take on making stupid breakcore music to cope. was kinda scared about trying to make breakcore music bc i literally don't have any experience playing instruments or making music whatsoever but this schizoid tutorial really made me feel more confident about trying. thx.
I don't completely agree with breakcore being an entry level genre, but that of course depends on how deep you want to go into slicing your breaks, sound design and complex time signatures + other rhythmic nonsense. Then again I personally love IDM, Glitch and more wankier Breakcore stuff like Ghost Of 3.13 and Laxenanchaos, so maybe I'm biased haha Anyway, great video! Definitely a great way to get into the genre and start going down the rabbithole
It definitely has more depth than most genres, I just think that depth can scare people away from making anything in the genre and learning tho so I say relatively entry level because you can theoretically slice an amen break before you could take sounds and make your own drums.
very nice video, but if you are unsure of the sample's tempo, if you click on the wave icon in the top left corner of the sample, you will have a "Detect tempo" option, where you select the "search range" (usually I just select 100-200 BPM as most of samples I've worked with were in this range). Also if you want to fit a sample to your own tempo, the "Fit to beat" option is handy as well.
Thank you :), I'm working on more similar content for my music channel probably going to do a phonk tutorial next czcams.com/channels/dJ0R3YFs-1IMwTpZuTnymA.html

Quick tip for everyone, if the bpm isn’t the same as it says, you can stretch the sample to fit the bpm that you want by activating the stretch button on the top left corner area, then choose the timing “non” so you can stretch it freely, I know it’s difficult to describe without a pic it videos but I’m sure if you search it you’ll find it, great tutorial btw
Thanks so much for your video i personally love breakcore i even bought fl studio pro which was $330 aud for me and ive started makeing some breakcore and haveing so much fun doing it made a couple tracks and am makeing something now that i think my be my best ❤❤❤
the last quote is probably the best thing anyone could have said to me, idk why no one told me sooner, there's no formula. Thank you, for now i truely know what i must do...
You know I kinda agree with Breakcore being an entry-level genre. Speaking from someone transitioning from Hip Hop to House and then Drum & Bass/Breakcore, the production methods are relatively similar. I think I was able to pick this genre up in four weeks and now I'm making full-on tracks. Then again, I mostly sample on my tracks. Great video, very fun to watch. Maybe a video dedicated to sampling next since it's like 50% of breakcore already.
sampling is definitely a huge part of this genre that I didn't get into in this. I'd want to dedicate myself deeper to learning the ins and outs of sampling before teaching it, my background is more in music than production but I definitely will cover that once I've become more comfortable with it 🙂.
@@yuxanne. I say Breakcore because at the moment it's being used interchangeably with Drum and Bass. Breakcore proper is definitely not an entry-level genre and is more so an extreme version of D&B. I haven't even touched breakcore because I say I'm not experienced enough in D&B.
@@hejai792 they're not interchangeable, people just try to normalize calling different things the same bc they find it easier to do so than to respect the genres with very long histories, and also you kinda do dip your toes into breakcore when you say things like it's an extreme version of dnb, if you said the same thing but said jungle instead of dnb, I'd be like, yeah that's a bit accurate ngl, but anyways, yellow isn't red, and so forth, and honestly the deeper you look into dnb the more confused you'll end up honestly speaking, dnb is arguably even more vast than breakcore is, especially when you get to the darker dnb genres, but dnb on the surface is very entry level, mostly the liquid and intelligent dnb stuff Good luck to you tho man, happy sailing and all that
@@hejai792 also production methods are largely the same in most genres, dnb at it's most basic is an easy formula so hip hop trap and house aren't so hard to come from, might wanna get used to using the midi slicer and using hotkeys to slice and dice tho if you wanna eventually make breakcore or dark dnb, or jungle too
i sadly wont be using funny mic as much anymore because my audience retention goes down the toilet when I do. I guess most people looking for a tutorial aren't looking for getting their ears blasted
