- Normally Spring break in Japan involves seeing Sakura and getting outside, but this spring has been very unnatural. Our family of 6 enjoys as much of Spring Break as we continue to get settled into our new house.

もちろん怪我はしない方がいいのですが、自らの体験をもって「これは危険なこと」と深く理解し、「じゃあどうするか」を真剣に考える
怪我をする前から「危ないから駄目」と言われても、なにがどう危ないのか本質を理解しないまま、好奇心だけを残して成長する可能性があって、そちらの方がよっぽど危ない
身体的な怪我にとどまらず色んな失敗をして、その都度対処法を自分の頭で学んでいくことが大事だと思っています
桜の季節に引っ越しや新学期、学校まで少し遠くなったみたいだけど、同じ学区で良かったです。

Cherry blossoms are blooming here in Germany right now. I love it since the district of my city I live in has a entire street full of just pink cherry trees. Before I moved into this city, I had no idea we even had pink cherry trees in Germany, but when googling, you will see that there are more places in the world who have pink cherry trees than you would've thought

Also - I agree, the tree stump makes the flower bed prettier! A suggestion for an activity with the kids, perhaps maybe carving out something in the stump? Like a fairy house or something Hobbit inspired? With miniature weather-proof figurines or lighting? It'd be cute! Greetings from Canada :D

Happy to see you have settled into your new home. You can see that there is more space now, even including a garden area! Love the energy the kids are radiating!
That park idea was actually an idea, I believe of a woman in England in the 60s, I think she did a study of safe parks versus parks with boards, hammers, nails and all sorts of junk. The kids went crazy, it sparked creative juices, and the kids actually gravitated to that area over the others. I grew up with very unsafe playgrounds, steel slides, car srings used on rides. No shredded rubber mats under everything for "safety." I truly believe that when we went safe and sane, we damaged our kids. They are now wussy adults....

According to Weather News, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom in April, two weeks later than last year, for the first time in seven years in the Kanto area.

3年前に皆さんが散歩していた桜や川沿いの小道の近所に住んでいたので懐かしい思いで見ていました。
（今は北海道での生活。各々違った良さがありますね）
We have our own Sakura in our yard. The sherry tree is completely white and the weekend is promising with temperatures up to 25°C (hottest temperatures in april since recording began). Seems I have to dig out the big protection net, or the birds will enjoy the cherry. Hope you can enjoy yours also.

植えられてる桜の種類によって、開花時期が異なるようです。桜の種類は何十種類もあるので、きっと少しでも長く咲いてる桜を楽しめるように植えられてるのだと思います😊

We have a cherry willow and our neighborhood has a bunch too. So pretty, they bloomed a little late as well . We also have a blooming cherry tree as I call it as there are no cherries..lol

今年の春は異常でしたね。私が住む街・福岡でも入学式までは、大雨にもかかわらず、どうにか桜は持ちました。
桜も花だけじゃなく、一緒に葉も茂っていましたね。逆に、既にツツジはあちこちで満開です。
温暖化で、いよいよ季節感が無くなって来たのでしょうか？
二か領用水の取水口から約1km川下に私の母校があります。以前「二か領せせらぎ館」に行った時に案内係と話していたらたまたま高校の後輩で、ボランティアで案内係をしているとの事でした。そしてそのまま二か領用水沿いを桜を見ながら自転車を押して宮内まで行きました。小杉の近辺では用水の河原にベンチがあってそこに座ってランチをしている人を見かけます。
とてもきれいな地域だ。

わたしの幼少期のアルバムには入学式（4月5~10日頃か）に満開の桜と母親と撮った写真が並んでいます。どうやらこの数十年間で桜の開花時期も早まって定着していたことに慣れてしまっていたように思います。これも地球温暖化の影響なのか。

The school year is April 5-March 26! So they get a little under 2 weeks between school years. In Japan 9th grade is still middle school. 6 years elementary, 3 years middle school, 3 years high school.

I see her crocheting on the videos and I'm glad my mom taught me the basic skills and how to read a pattern when I was young. I'm 67 and still learning😊. Give her some yarn, hook and she's ready to go. I will watch for her new ideas...thanks🙂
その辺りの土地は昔は『稲田』と呼ばれ稲を植える田んぼだらけで
田んぼに水を引くために用水路が作られその土手を固める為に桜が植えられたそうです
桜が咲けば多くの人が踏み固めるからだそうです。
昔の人も農作業の合間をぬって花見をしたんだろうね
多摩川沿いには縄文時代からの遺跡や古墳も出てるから人の営みは更に古くからあるんだろうね
桜を見ると見ず知らずの昔の人や植えた人と間接的に対話したような気分になるときがある(笑)

@@MrGeorge626 あなたの考えの方が日本人として恥ずかしいです。石に神が宿っているとかいう事ではなく、突然岩をたたくという乱暴な行為を見て私は違和感を覚えました。多分同じ気持ちを抱く方は少なからずいると思います。日本に住んで日本の文化風習に溶け込もうとしている外国の方が日本人に違和感を覚えられたらそれは半末転倒になってしまいます。今後も日本に末永く住んで頂くのに言いにくい事もちゃんと伝えて行く必要があると思います。
