3 million? HOW!? We never could have imagined this when we started in 2017. We set out to make the best quality piano arrangements and sheet music we could, uploading a video every single day. We are honoured that 3 million of you have liked our content enough to subscribe.
We've made special videos matching the number of notes to subscribers at every milestone since 1,000. We've worked harder on this one than any other.
We aimed to make not just a video with a huge number of notes, but a great piece of music with very deliberate visual design. This was only possible by using Embers and the variety of styles it allows us to design.

I just realized something: Andrew absolutely carried this song. I did some calculations, and within Andrew's first section, he contributed 224,208 notes to the song. Then Samuel's part came in, and he did some amazing work, bringing in 850,019 notes for his part. Then Andrew just decided to be an absolute beast with 1,925,773 notes at the end. Andrew wrote in a total of 2,149,801 notes to this amazing song, which was a whopping 77.66603% of the total notes in the song.

How can so many notes mashed together in a song sound this good
because they are not playing the notes lmao
i noticed that some notes are louder than others, that would explain the difference of colors
Because >95% of the "notes" are visual only, so I would call them "pixels". The actual music is mostly obscured behind the visual presentation.
Now, that hidden music is still a great composition, don't get me wrong. It's just nowhere near 3,000,000 notes. And there's no way they could do it in a reasonable amount of time. If the video were an hour long, and they played a 176-key keyboard (double the range of a piano), they would still need to hit each and every key more than 4 times per second for the full hour to get to 3 million notes. That's why there are blocks of this where they are "playing" every note on their expanded keyboard like 100 times per second, trying to get the note counter up.

They kinda did “spam notes and make cool designs because they had some quota to meet”. (Hearing 3 million unmuted notes would just be earrape) Nonetheless, it’s still very impressive, and the cool designs are impressive too.
@@KrisPBacon69 you can always hear every note and many times they take advantage of this. They just play them at varying volumes. But point is taken they definitely played a lot of almost mute notes. Still the song sounds great and you can really hear the effort. This was not lazy by any standard.

Putting 3 million notes in an actual song would take probably days to play out.
The whole SMB cast are not only artists, but also musicians. The music sheet itself is a whole other level of art, meanwhile all the songs of those same sheets are absolute BANGERS. I am so glad this popped up of my recommendations.

Ahaha, thank you for the kind and thoughtful words! This video definitely did take a while to make, but we enjoyed the process! It took a lot of energy and a lot of 9-10 hour days to create it, but it was definitely worth it. 3 million is just way too much to comprehend, and it does mean a lot!
