Hey guys! Got a bit nostalgic during lockdown about Warwick and my first year there, so I thought I'd put my recollections into a video to hopefully help you guys when picking accommodations for uni. Thinking back to when I started uni, I would have wanted an advice video reviewing the different halls of residency at Warwick, especially from a student perspective. I hope that you all find this guide useful, particularly those of you who are coming to Warwick in September.
Equally if you're a former Warwick/uni student I hope that this provides a mild source of entertainment, as you can probably relate to a lot of the events which I faced this year...

4:18 Our flat solved the milk dripping issue. We reserved the bottom part of the fridge for milk cartons (and other liquid containers). That way if something spilled, it would only spill the bottom of the fridge.
A simple solution which would have saved my time ... and wallet

10:10 UNTRUE!!!!! As a current student at Warwick, I must say Arthur Vick is extremely sociable. I stayed in Jack Martin, and it was very social, but I don't think there was much of a difference between the 2.

In your opinion what is the most diverse accommodation
How not sociable is bluebell? Cuz it’s my first option but I do wanna hang out and go out. Is it a good fit for students who like to hang out but want to have some peace and quiet to study too? What are the best accommodations for such semi-extrovert students? And what do you have to do to apply for accommodation? Just give three options or more? Sorry for all these questions haha but Warwick doesn’t give a lot of info about applying for accommodation.
You need to apply for three choices in accom, and I think you answer some questions about yourself. There's also rules like you can only apply to a max of three ensuite accoms and you can't apply to both Jack Martin and Arthur Vick.
None don’t go to Warwick it’s a horrible place
Tbh how "sociable" an accommodation is very much dependent on the kitchen you're in. I would describe myself as a "semi-extrovert" and I found Jack Martin and Arthur Vick a good balance between a sociable accom and somewhere for peace and quiet. From what I've heard about Bluebell, I can't say it's the same as JM, but obviously that's a personal opinion. To apply for accommodation, I believe that you apply through the Warwick Accommodation - you get 3 en-suite options, and 3 shared bathroom options, so 6 in total. Hope this helps!

How does the application work do I need 3 ensuit choises if i want a shared bathroom choice, also I am a very socialable person so what top 3 of both would you reccomend and in what order
i like being social but yet not so much into parties and stuff but yes sometimes.

Yes you can, Rootes is honestly fine just a bit more sociable than other accoms!

Hey, honestly I'm not too familiar with the postgraduate accoms, so would say your best bet is to research into it as much as you can on the Warwick Accommodations website. 👍🏾
Heyy, what was it like moving out during Easter?
Hey, hope you're good! It was a bit of a hassle ngl but me and my mates just ended up putting our stuff in other people's accoms with 40 week lets. Also they allow you to keep some stuff in a lockable space in your room. Hope this helps!👍🏾
How many showers/baths/toilets per shared bathroom?
It depends what shared accommodation. So I think Claycroft has one bathroom between two students, but for Rootes I think it may be one bathroom for approx. 6 students. 👍🏾

Can we stay on campus during the second year?
Yes you can, but I think the accommodation options are limited.
Which would you pick out of Claycroft and Tocil
From what I know, they seem like quite similar accommodations. My friend in Claycroft found it quite sociable from the onset, whereas another one of my friends said Tocil took sometime to liven up. Claycroft seemed like an accom where the residents mixed with other kitchens/flats in the accom, whereas for Tocil it felt that people tended to stay in their own flat. If forced to pick, I would probably go for Claycroft for a more sociable experience, but honestly would be a stab in the dark because I don't know as much about either accom...
As someone who just finished living in Tocil, I would highly recommend it!
Which accommodation would be the perfect pick for a Postgraduate student who is an extrovert ?
Honestly don't know the postgraduate accoms but I would say picking a central campus accom if you're an extrovert is always a safe bet😄
