Great video camera view spot on tremendous layout love the control you have over the train we've seen it in bits now we've seen all the bits put together look forward to more
excellent set of videos so far, can't wait for the next installment. Really stirs up my enthusiasm to start planning and building my own layout. Love the little cameo scene in the allotments. Top videos from a top guy.
Awesome mate, you've put so real thought into that, the correct cabs, the sound effects, and your scenery looks amazing from the cab. Will look epic once you've got the scenery done in the corner, thoroughly enjoyed the ride mate and great to see your layout from a different view :)
Great video mate. You get a real feeling of height at the top of the helix on the the outside rail. I think the whole video works really well. Thanks very much for sharing. Cheers, Chris
Great job - you're quite the inspiration. I've slowed down my modelling here in Minnesota until winter comes around again, you've provided a wealth of great information & ideas for me (I'll stock up on parts when I'm back home in Scotland on holiday) - thanks!
This video is amazing. I've seen others put cameras on cars, but I haven't seen someone put the train controls on screen like that before. Very well done and the layout looks wonderful.
Excellent! Did anyone else notice, after you fininsh in the Class 47 and move into the class 50,you drive past the 47 that has just arrived in the platform! Brill video.
hi i really enjoy watching your videos and even though i model in english n gauge i have picked up alot of tips and advice from your channel. you have also inspired me to try and make my next layout based in the late 80s and to hopefully have a youtube channel on it. thanks for the inspiration
I showed my son and he really liked going around as "the Driver" lol . . . I love CZcams . . . you come across so many talent people that put out great videos :)
Missed these cab ride videos first time through your channel. No idea how you got the cab and fantastic sound. Surprised these have not been copied as they are a brilliant way to show the layout from a valid perspective. Keep innovating.
Reminded me of the ghost train at the fair. Sharp curves and strings of spaghetti. Excellent on the scenic bits though. It would be interesting to see it repeated with recent/current scenics!
Yes, watching this was a surreal experience. I felt like I was riding in a real life-size train, and then seeing giant crates and fans the size of skyscrapers and a wood roof over the world just felt "wrong" somehow...
Great vid, your layout from this angle looks great! Would be able to do a 'cab-view' video of a loco moving from one TMD to the other, or doing some shunting or something along those lines (!). Thanks, keep up the good work.
You should do this again but with the carriage lights on (I know they werent installed then). But that would look good through the tunnels/underneath. Nice Vid
maybe that was a meant to be a joke but its his channel and its not really playing around its showing the progress and its excellent i loved it one of the best videos i think hes ever done
what a very good video richard.adding the cab interior has really made this video look very realistic.and its good to see your layout from another prospective as it shows all the little detail up close. can i ask where you got the mini cam from, im assuming it is a mini cam?
This is very impressive, I would've mistaken your layout for real life. If it wasn't for the brick wall and the fiddle yard and the wiring and the tools. I'm just kidding those don't detract from the overall quality of the video, and good luck with future videos as well.
Hi, Your Drivers eye view is fantastic! I cannot get my brain around the configuration of the layout? Can you please describe the size of the loft etc....... thank you. John Stubbington
Brilliant video, thanks for sharing. I've watched just about all of your uploads and they've given me the urge to start building another layout. I love the helixes. I used to have a decent layout in my loft in England but had to relocate to hot and humid Florida 12 years ago. Building one in the loft here would be impossible because of the high temps, but I have room in my garage where the conditions are bearable most of the year.. Do you think the high temps and humidity be a problem for the track, electrics etc? Thanks, Paul
quarryfield Your track should be ok. Leave a few mm gap in the rails at each joint to allow for expansion and you'll be fine. The electrics should be ok too. The only thing that will cause real issues is anything made from card as it will distort in the humidity over time.
You know what would be even more awesome than this? If they can fit a camera in a smartphone, they can put a camera in the driver's seat of a normal locomotive rather than a "camtruck." Then make a DCC controller with a color LCD screen on it. Then have the loco send video to the controller in real time via FM, Wi-Fi, or BlueTooth.
Yes! Exactly! I'm also into FPV quadcopters, and I'd love it if FPV became standard on locomotives (cameras in the locos) and on DCC controllers/cabs/throttles (phone-sized LCD screens on the controllers)!
I am planing to make a layout with will be DCC. I am layout I have decided to use Peco double Slip but i am not sure which once should I use electro frog or insulated frog also request you to pls give your review on peco double slip
I like a Driver's Eye View a lot more with a steam engine. The layout should be all on one level, in my opinion. And the outside tracks shouldn't be so close to the edge. But it's your choice.
We need an updated version of this at some point.
Fantastic - Did not want the video to stop - looking forward to your next one.
Great video camera view spot on tremendous layout love the control you have over the train we've seen it in bits now we've seen all the bits put together look forward to more
Very nice! Railworks class 47 cab & your layout through the windscreen! Awesome!
excellent set of videos so far, can't wait for the next installment. Really stirs up my enthusiasm to start planning and building my own layout.

I enjoyed the ride round your layout, thank you.
Great job - you're quite the inspiration. I've slowed down my modelling here in Minnesota until winter comes around again, you've provided a wealth of great information & ideas for me (I'll stock up on parts when I'm back home in Scotland on holiday) - thanks!
Brilliant video. Love what you have done. I also love the fact that the your loft is full of household stuff very similar to mine.....!
Nice ride. The sound effects were great.
This video is amazing. I've seen others put cameras on cars, but I haven't seen someone put the train controls on screen like that before. Very well done and the layout looks wonderful.
Thanks, I wasn't sure how well it would work, but the camera seems to be in the perfect position for a cab overlay.
Excellent clip, like the added frame of a train cab makes it very realistic ;)
Excellent! Did anyone else notice, after you fininsh in the Class 47 and move into the class 50,you drive past the 47 that has just arrived in the platform!
Brill video.
Brilliant video mate. Please do an updated version when you get the chance!
And for your next task... to make it playable! Brilliant again!
Awesome!!! Greetings from America!
hi

thanks for the inspiration
That is so cool! Thanks for posting!
Well done. I really enjoyed the night time shots. As well, the distressing of the rolling stock ad infrastructure certainty made it appear very real.
this video came up on my "recommended" list? So I clicked it and I must say it's a great video - really enjoyed watching
Tom (F4collector)
Thanks Tom

Fantastic, great vid.
Look's like the class 47 and 47 sounds from rail sim :) Great vid dude!
Plenty of other trains use the branch line. The bell is the sound of the automatic warning system used to inform train drivers of signals ahead.
WOW- A completely new perspective of your layout; or world if you will. I once wondered what it would look like from that view. As always well dome.
Spot on :-) Really gives it a new dimension :-)
That was amazing mate :D it was like i was playing railworks but in real life haha
Like the cab overlay, nice one :-)
ARGGGHHH!!! Look at the size of that LG TV box in front of us there, only a giant could watch that size of telly!!! WE'RE DOOMED!!!
fantastic vid
AWESOME VIDEO
Reminded me of the ghost train at the fair. Sharp curves and strings of spaghetti. Excellent on the scenic bits though. It would be interesting to see it repeated with recent/current scenics!
Great video.
That's some really nice footage there
Going round the helixes and under the layout was a strange and fascinating experience.
Yes, watching this was a surreal experience. I felt like I was riding in a real life-size train, and then seeing giant crates and fans the size of skyscrapers and a wood roof over the world just felt "wrong" somehow...
Excellent vid dude! Hope you do a night-time shot too! keep up the good work!
Amazing! Watched it twice!
Brilliant! Love it
Great vid, your layout from this angle looks great! Would be able to do a 'cab-view' video of a loco moving from one TMD to the other, or doing some shunting or something along those lines (!). Thanks, keep up the good work.
I think signals would be great on this detailed layout!!!
I was going to suggest video in the cab but you've already got it covered. :D Another suggestion was use only flex track, giving that free flow path.
frankfemenias he did that
Cool use of the train simulator class 47
11 out of 10,never seen this before
really good video i was hoping of a cab view when i see it it its early stage will you be doing any more videos including one with intercity 125 *****
You should do this again but with the carriage lights on (I know they werent installed then). But that would look good through the tunnels/underneath.
Nice Vid
Thanks, yes it called a 'Camtruck' made by a company called Branor Systems.
Great vid, loving the overlay. I notice you don't appear anywhere in the vid whilst operating your layout. Kinda secret huh!
Awesome!
Cool ride i love it
How do you do that, I'm jealous, lol, great video
maybe that was a meant to be a joke but its his channel and its not really playing around its showing the progress and its excellent i loved it one of the best videos i think hes ever done

*Perspective
great Idea
this is a amazing. i always wounded what is was like to sit in the driver set of a loco.
Fantastic video well done. Great sound effects. The layout looks fab in the cab view. How many trains can you run at once?
This is very impressive, I would've mistaken your layout for real life.
If it wasn't for the brick wall and the fiddle yard and the wiring and the tools. I'm just kidding those don't detract from the overall quality of the video, and good luck with future videos as well.
Fantastic layout. Nice work. Sore a glimpse of a Senna 1:18 there :) McLaren MP4/5 ?
why do your guys traind have funny sounding horns?
Great vid.
You should so another one of these with your updated layout. This one was cool but if you did another one it would be amazing
Yes! Would love to see this again on a fully sceniced layout!!!
Nice video, did I see a box with a senna helmet on
Awesome
We need to see this video done again with some Horn Banter
Wow! :-) ace Work :-D
Hi, Your Drivers eye view is fantastic! I cannot get my brain around the configuration of the layout? Can you please describe the size of the loft etc....... thank you. John Stubbington
yeh night time run would be wicked!

look at FPV (used for model airplane) is that the kind of thing you are looking for ??
will
Yes! Exactly! I'm also into FPV quadcopters, and I'd love it if FPV became standard on locomotives (cameras in the locos) and on DCC controllers/cabs/throttles (phone-sized LCD screens on the controllers)!
Great!
he can do what the hell he like because it's his channel!
How did you film this
wonderful!! All you need to do now is hide all the wiring that the camera now shows. Does it ever end?
I use a Lenz LH100 controller.
Have u thought of putting in signals at points in ur layout, it would be grate. And what did u use to film it??? Also, can we see the HST at speed?
I am planing to make a layout with will be DCC. I am layout I have decided to use Peco double Slip but i am not sure which once should I use electro frog or insulated frog also request you to pls give your review on peco double slip
Looks it. Would love to buy a replica helmet and suit.
How did you get the interior boarder
Yes
how did you fit the camera in the little cab?!?!
Wonder if you ever treat us to a bit of Class 37.
You get a completley differant view of the layout from the cab!
Can you show us how to do the drivers view
Taking corners faster than F1. Scary!
what software did u use to over lay the cab and to edit out the view of railworks?
This looks like hornby but train simulator aswell
Hi,
What remote are you using to control your trains
many thanks
Which train is the cam in?
thanks
Did you ever get a chance to do this before you ripped this layout up?
did you use mini dv cam
Wow
I like a Driver's Eye View a lot more with a steam engine. The layout should be all on one level, in my opinion. And the outside tracks shouldn't be so close to the edge. But it's your choice.
what camera did you use
send me the answer to this question as well please. Thanks!!!
What camera did you use?
Douglas Potter For this video I used the branor systems camtruck.
I'm gonna try to order one of these camtrucks... I hope they can ship to the US!
how do u get the controls
are they in the train
modeltrainteen95 no it's a cab overlay from train simulator
what software do you use for the cab overlay ?
It was taken from Train Simulator
It was a 47
