- What a visit we had at Madeira Airport! The Royal Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III visited Madeira Airport on a technical stop on a very windy day, providing such great action to the local spotters!

Indeed, for us is very rare to have this type of planes here in the Island!!

Madeira is my favourite place in the whole world. As an aviation enthusiast I would have been thrilled to see that Globemaster land there. I notice from the white tops on the waves that there was a strong wind.
The wind was very strong, on the first attempt the C-17 did a Go Around manouver because of the wind. Soon I will post that video too!

Pedro! Hi i was at the water park because in am in Madeira it was so cool then i went to the spot were you met sam Chui the winds today where amazing a lot of diverted planes

Brizze North I think should be Brize Norton. Other than that, beautifully filmed. Was that a planned or an unscheduled stop? It must be one of the largest planes to have landed there recently.
You got that right mate, saw now that the correction put the name "north", did not recognized Norton. Already fixed!
Awesome! We recently had 2 USAF c17s here in Tel-aviv due to bidens visit. And of course that the moment I get home after spotting for 3h they depart.
This is such a cool plane to watch, those engines are amazing!

was the wind within limits for this one ? not sure if it applies to military aircraft
At least on the ATC, when he was invited for the approach, the controller said Wind within limits, but i don't know if it applies.
Perhaps, with 40kts gusts, the plane did not moved anything :)

My plane had to divert to Faro we are doing Faro - Madeira today so I’m probably landing at 15:00-15:15
