  • Tom Bogdanowicz of London Cycling Campaign explains how we're making lorry designs safer for cyclists.
By changing the design of HGVs to give drivers the best possible vision out of the cab, we're reducing lorry blind spots. Data from Transport for London shows that the number of serious or fatal collisions in London due to lorry blind spots has been reduced.

The most dangerous is the cyclists own attitude.
Watch the videos on CZcams of the cyclists going up the inside of lorry’s as the lorry is turning.
Make it safer by addressing the riding of the cyclist

We are clear that people shouldn't cycle up the inside of lorries, and we have a whole article on this on our website. lcc.org.uk/advice/how-to-cycle-safely-around-lorries/ This isn't a fault thing: the new Highway Code road user hierarchy puts more responsibility on those driving vehicles that can cause the greatest harm
gov.uk/government/news/the-highway-code-8-changes-you-need-to-know-from-29-january-2022 - hence our focus on lorries.

@@LondonCycling you should continue to read the highway code fully.
"The hierarchy does not remove the need for everyone to behave responsibly."
there are rules that apply to the cyclists and they fail to follow them, but then try to blame the vehicles that did nothing wrong.
plenty of videos on youtube that show the errors of the cyclists.
this is an important video that cyclists should be made to watch
