I have been using the longbow you start with as samurai, I'm level 80, just beat Radahn and traded remembrance for his bow, and then I realized that it was only the second bow I'd seen in the game this far. Definitely gonna go hunting for bows tonight

Not sure it's been covered in all these comments, but the Serpent Bow is literally in front of a Dead Iron Maiden where there are three Scarlet Rot Geysers, so tread carefully and quickly :)

I feel like the black bow is missing. Longbow range and damage profile but Barrage skill and can snapshot out of a roll like a short bow. Great option if like setting up status effects like poison, rot, frost, etc early in the fight or wanna be an archer at melee ranges

It's a great bow but any half decent boss just side steps your barrage all the time, i feel rain of arrows is an easier proc for blood loss etc

I like horn bow the best for my samurai looks cook and is nice bow because its one of the few that can be upgraded with ashes of war and regular smith stones

For the abandoned cave Quickstep or bloodhound step are your best friend. Rolling covers you in rot. Defeating the bosses gives you the golden scarab talisman. Enjoy Hell.

The surpeit bow will also add poison affect to regular arrows.

I don't think it actually does. It does, however, have arcane scaling, meaning that status arrows, such as bleed/frostbite/sleep/poison arrows, will have increased status application with higher levels of arcane. I think it also increases overall damage, but Im not 100% on that point.

I use the serpent bow, upgraded to +5 at the moment. I have to be honest, it's fairly underwhelming. You will only kill the very weakest enemies with 1 Mighty Show. Most need at least 2. The bow does proc poison very quickly, but poison is not that great except very early game. It takes a really long time for poison to kill anyone. Usually I am too impatient. It is the lightest bow though.
I still like using it to kill annoying enemies like hawks and bats, but realistically any bow can do that.

I like it as a standalone weapon, but it is even better for a full on poison build. Works great for building poison buildup from a distance.

yea, bows feel underwhelming but i am not sure if kindred of rot talisman pairs well with serpant bow or not since I think it can proc poison faster then other bows, I could be wrong. Otherwise black bow just seems superior with bleed arrows and lord of blood talisman and flame grant me strength.

The bow works best in an arcane build for status arrows. Higher arcane increases status buildup for that bow, which is not the case for other bows(since they don't have arcane scaling)

The no1 Erdree Bow isn’t the same we get when we destroy that chariot in that first dungeon. I don’t remember the name, “something hero”, you have to destroy the chariot by hitting a pot overhead and falling at the right timing

I'm fairly new to Elden ring, but in trying to understand, and as a Samurai, why would I want the erdtree bow (other than the look)? Faith? Wouldn't I need to then put precious points into faith to better it? From what I thought I understood, the horn bow would be better for the attributes a Samurai would be already building. To me, and if this is the right logic of having to have faith, it just seems a waste to put put points into something just for a bow. Either way, appreciate the video. Just more confused now than I was, haha.

Just looks. If you are doing a quality samurai build, the horn bow, or even the albinauric bow are better options. I've also heard good things about the Black Bow.

The albinauric bow is awesome. You can equip it with rain of arrows aow and melt dragons and the large bosses. Poison arrows work especially well on dragons. But it can be difficult to farm. I farm the two albies by the big tree @ consecrated snowfield.

No, likely not. It does get a lot of its potential from faith specing, so if you want to avoid that, then it would be whichever bow scales the best with your prefered attribute loadout.
