What our, "Play-Action" style QB was able to do behind a very young O-line that was playing musical chairs and hadn't developed any chemistry yet, and ZERO running attack, was EXTREMELY impressive! Now Baker has some chemistry with his targets; an improved O-line, (which equates to a better running game); and more options at the line-of-scrimmage. THIS IS GONNA BE FUUUUUUN!!!

Finally someone that actually did some research on the team. These national media "experts" have no clue. This is a good team that has the ability to be really good, maybe even great! Talent everywhere, brought back all the key players, addressed the weak areas, and added depth. We are going to surprise most people that don't follow the team or know football..... LFG #GOBUCS

Welcome aboard. Let's makes teams walk the plank this year . Baker threw for over 4200 yards last years with 28 TDS with not just the worst running game in the NFL but one of the worst in NFL history. Pass protection wasn't very good either . Trey palmer is the fastest receiver in the NFL . He passed Tyreek during a game and was clocked at over 24 mph . His 40 time was better too .

You hit it right on the head when you spoke about the complete lack of a run game last year. Baker balled out with the worst run attack in the league. Imagine what he could do if we could even break top 15ish? Scary.
With all that said.. how did you completely overlook Jalen Mcmillan? >> He likely will be WR3 ahead of Trey Palmer. He certainly deserves a mention at least!

@@user-nr5ux7gr2g no it's definitely mcmillian. The fact that we have palmer and shepard too is VERY nice. Palmer showed flashes last year and is our speedster. If Shepard doesn't ever return to form (I doubt unlikely tbh) the guy is only going to see their #3-5 cb at most. Even if he hasn't gotten healthy and can never return to form, he's still going to capitalize on that given his experience, his natural ability and had played with Baker at one time.
I'm going to go ahead and say this. Our 1 through 5 are the best top 5 in the league hands down. This is not being a homer, if I was being a homer, I'd say in the history of football.

Nice job of breaking down the Bucs this season. The 3rd round pick Jalen McMillan from Washington is likely to be the number 3 receiver from how he's looked in minicamp and OTA's, though the Bucs like Trey Palmer a lot and he will get plenty of snaps with the new scheme.

It's not just Barton that is a big upgrade . Bredson is a huge upgrade . Only reason he wasn't starting in Philly is because the guy in front of him is top 3 in the NFL . Bredson could start on over half the teams in the NFL . Absolute brilliant move by Licht to go to the team with the best O-line in the NFL to grab one of their back ups .

The narrative that "Baker cannot win a superbowl" is pretty funny when you actually look at playoff stats. Excluding QB's with 2 or fewer games played in the playoffs (since the sample size is a bit too small) then Baker has the 4th highest rating of any QB since 2015 with the only QB's above him being Matt Ryan, Patrick Mahomes and Matt Stafford and if you go off passing TD's per game then he has the highest number of all QB's since the year 2000 with 2.5TD's per game!!!
Baker is an entirely different beast in the playoffs, he is by no means perfect but the rhetoric that you cannot win a superbowl with him just falls apart when you look at what hes done so far in the playoffs, if 2.5 passing TD's per game isn't enough to win you the superbowl then the issue isn't the QB.
Bucs won a super bowl in 2003 with just Brad Johnson, so I believe it. Many other teams have won the big game without an elite QB if you have a great team.
You realize the playoff stats were buffed by an Eagles team that had already lost 7 straight... And the. Baker threw an INT to lose the game vs the Lions. He has to take a big step forward this year, couldn't even score over 21 points per game last year despite having a top 5 pass protection via PFF and loaded WR talent

The Bucs are going to be a force to be reckoned with for the forseeable future. Too many young, aggressive and talented players who play like a family of brothers together. The Todd Bowles approach to leading an NFL team is an extension of Bruce Arians approach/legacy. No nonsense, high expectations, every one is accountable to each other and most of all tough love. These guys are going to be a blast to watch. The "no respect" thing has followed the Buc's since the 70's. It's a motivator for this team.

I'm waiting to see how McCollum play at the CB1 position. I'm still not sold on it yet, but i hope he proves me VERY wrong! Other than that, i think that the defense will play at a higher level than last season! Offense is in good shape! GO BUCS!!!

Can't forget to mention a couple of things. First, the defense will be lead once again and potentially for the last time by future HOFer Levonte David. Guy has always been so criminally underrated, and his not being mentioned is part of why, so I want to make sure he gets his recognition. And finally, the Bucs also added Sterling Sheppard to the WR room, which adds veteran depth, and Baker and Sheppard were teammates in college, so they already have some cohesion. The Buccaneers should be the favorites to win the division, but despite winning it the last three years, I don't think they have been the favorites for many of them. So, people keep sleeping on this team, that's fine. Maybe that's just how the Bucs like it.

I think it'll be more of a 3a and 3b situation. Depending on the offensive package. On 3rd and 5, Jalen is probably going to be in the mix because between him, Godwin, Rachaad White/Bucky Irving,and Otton/Culp/Durnham, someone will be open to catch the ball and secure the 1st down, I can practically guarantee it.
Trey Palmer probably becomes a Scotty Miller type speed deep threat as well as a motion type trick play runner, basically a discount Tyreek Hill. Between him and Evans deep, you won't be able to cover them both.
We had no run game at all and Baker still broke 4k yards and 28 TD's, people really underestimate how significant that actually is when you had the least rushing yards of any team with the lowest YPC.
In Comparison another really bad run team (5th worst), the Seattle Seahawks. Geno Smith only threw for 3.6k yards and 20 TD's. Another bad run team last year (8th worst) was the Chargers, Justin Herbert only ended up with 3.1K passing yards and 20 TD's. Both these teams had inversely fairly high quality WR talent similar to the Bucs. Seahawks have Tyler Locket, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Metcalf. While the Chargers had Mike Williams, Quentin Johnston, and Keenan Allen. Both comparable WR sets to the Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Trey Palmer trio in Tampa.
With a revitalized O-line to actually support the run game, that will open up the pass game that added two weapons, one in Jalen and the other in Shepperd. in 2024 Baker may break, dare I say, 5k yards with 35-40 TD's? With 3-4 TD's in each playoff game? Bold predictions I know, but I'm quite confident in this team's metamorphosis and the new OC Liam Cohen who has a real track record of success with the Rams and the University of Kentucky and not a mythos of being a "QB whisperer" like Canales did.
Palmer definitely #3.
White could have easily had a 1,000 yards if he didn't take a knee in two different games to run out the clock
He had an easy breakaway TD, but yielded 12 yards short. Good to have players with situational awareness and play for the team.

I think its going to depend on what happens week 1 with the lions. They're playing the Rams, if they lose to Stafford and the rams i can see the week 2 match being a Bucs win, if the lions beat the Rams week 1 then i think that momentum gives them the edge against the Bucs in week 2.

TBH Baker got carried by Mike like Manziel got carried by Mike... Also pass protection was top 5 last year according to PFF. Baker was absolutely not the reason for the Bucs success. The Bucs went to the playoffs 3 Straight years before Baker. Baker got carried by the defense vs Carolina, 9-0 to barely make playoffs, then we beat an Eagles team in the playoffs that lost 7 Straight games. Way off with your assessment, the Baker narrative is way off base, Baker was lucky to play on this playoff caliber roster, he wasn't the reason we made the playoffs by any means
my only issue with Baker is that he can be errant at times. If he could only make his accurracy better, he'd be elite. As of right now, i think he's just above average
