In my opinion, nothing beats Sub Zero’s base design from MK: Deception. It is, and will always be, my favorite design for Sub Zero

The eternal klash pack left the premium shop a long time ago. only way to get it now is finding someone that has it on ebay or the other method which worked for one guy, which is buying the aftermath or ultimate edition key although that’s not a solid guaranteed way
Fun fact: the revenant sub zero can be only obtain from “test your night„ tower challenge.
It was a nightmare to unlock, but worth it in the end.

I honestly love the kui lang design I dont care if he may look as if he's past his prime but it shows his mastery over time and I believe it's badass to see Oldman strength portrayed even if it's just a skin

Hot take: sub-zero’s deception alt is dope as hell, black and blue against his pale skin looks great, and the costume makes him look like an Edenian/ outworld version of himself because it’s based on the lore of his cryomancer lineage.

The shredder outfit from Mortal Kombat Deception is also my favorite Sub-Zero outfit and it's also one of the best outfit of all time
Personally I really like revenant Sub-Zeros hair. Something about it just kinda makes it work for me. I have heard some people bring up the hood and how he could've used one which is fine and all, but I just can't really see the appeal for it in this case. RSZ is in my top 5 favorite Sub-Zero outfits

My favorite has to be MK X Bi-Han Sub-Zero, or the Cryomancer skin. I love it because the puffy vest lends itself to the whole "Master of Ice and Cold" in the way it looks like a parka jacket. It looks intimidating and cool at the same time

If I were to factor in Injustice 2 Sub-Zero, I would cover not just his initial appearance with his default gear, but also his Epic Gear Sets. They’re kind of like the DLC cosmetics from MK11, as it not only came with a costume, but also corespondent gear pieces that fit the aesthetic that goes with wearing the full set.

i personally loved the cold war sub zero, cause to me it was like an alt history where he was a Russian soldier. like to me having it be something that with a possible cool story is fun. he wouldn't want his colors to pop if he was fighting in a war

The MKX outfit gets a lot of hate, I actually think the MKX ninja designs are the best especially Scorpion's. However my favorite Sub-Zero look is his MK11 story mode look, that headband look goes hard

The base design belongs to Bi Han In the animated film Mortal Kombat scorpions revenge so for me this is one of Bi Hans suits (in my opinion) the base suit reminds me of Bi Han and looks a lot like a suit that Bi Han would wear. It makes it look like Bi Han because of the face expression mainly
His outfit from MK 2, and his default from MK X look dope. I liked the one Kuai Liang wore from MK 9 too. And, yes - I would love to forget the whole Dimitri Vegas skin too...
I like the Injustice Sub Zero, he just really reminds me of Doctor Doom, the hood, the full armor over the face and the arms, the hood, the cape, it's cool and fits the game perfect

I actually like darker blue color on his Cold War skin, I think the skin would be worse if the blue was more bright because the soviet army uniforms aren't the known for being bright

I honestly love the Deception alt skin, it just had some execution issues, I think the shade of blue is too dark. The mask is a big issue & think the pony tail could’ve worked with some edits, I’ve seen people redesign & draw & make it look very dope. I also love the MK9 alt & MKX skins like Kold War, Kuai Liang Grandmaster & base skin & Injustice design. I think his MK11 skins look way too overdesigned or just weird shapes. I hate the base design, I don’t like the weird hanging cloth & the winged crown cap, I like the edited version more. But at least Shredder-Zero was acknowledged as the best.
I’m fluent in Chinese, and the reason I like the maskless vest look from DA and X is the 冰龙的. It’s in traditional and what I typed is simplified of course, but it means Ice Dragon. Sick asf

to be honest i would love to see the alternative Costume from Deception with normal looking hair. if we would only include the clothing into mk11 i think sub zero would look decent :)
For a warrior so cold, your decision to place his MK X design so low was such a hot take lol... Although most of your reasoning is fair and it's why I can never say it's my favorite look. It is awfully busy and he does not look like a GM in such clothing, but the colors work for the more realistic direction they wanted and overall he looks like an absolute badass who can cut down an army. Just the cool factor alone puts it as a favorite for me even if it's not the top of the top.
Also I cannot agree with ya putting unmasked MK3 higher than his standard DA and the MKX Kuai Liang costumes.. I gotta give credit to the later renditions for attempt at trying to paint a turd gold. MK3 is just a lousy spandex costume versus the other two being attempts at making the concept more warrior like.
Disagreements aside, from one Sub-Zero fan to another, I commend the effort you put into piecing this video together.
The first time I saw his revenant skin in the story of mkx, I seriously thought for a second that it was Smoke instead of our favourite cryomancer.
I have to admit I actually did like the Sub-Zero's alternate from Deception. Granted, I'm talking about the actual outfit. Liked the mask, liked the attire, it's the hair that throws this look for me. I don't mind the ponytail, it's just the rest of is head being bald that just doesn't work. If they ever brought this look back, I genuinely wouldn't mind IF they fixed the hair. By either adding more hair, or taking the ponytail off.

For those who are wondering how to play as Cyber Sub-Zero, since he is seemingly not there, you have to select Triborg, then press up twice, then finally press Y on X Box or Triangle on Playstation. Also you can see his design in the Extras Menu when looking at the costumes for Triborg. Hope this helps for those who think it's a mod.

How's Mk4 unmasked sub is higher than the mkX🗿he's litterly the same just without mask. For mkx, The vest make sense for the cold ice theme, plus it also reminds us of the older costumes that also have the vests. Mkx unmasked have all the Chinese symbols on it which is definitely cooler and represent his clan. Plus, you keeps saying "this could be better" to mkx but mk4.

He's a secret variation of Triborg, not a mod.
You have to input a code while highlighting Triborg on the character select screen for MK 10 to get Cyber Sub-Zero.

Can't wait for the X-rays ranking. But I think it would be done per game since I think only Mk9 Mkx and Mk11 have this mechanic (Mk11 has a fatal blow but it has similar properties to a X-ray so.) I like a lot of Sub-Zero's skins but some just....suck.

MY opinon on the Cold War skin: I'm a huge fan of history, and I thought that the "gas mask" was a nice touch and the soviet star on his ushanka/helmet. I think the skin was perfect.

The Blizzard King skin is tied with Deception skin Imo. Its just enough that you know its still Sub Zero, but its really unique in a good way
My ideal costume for subzero would be: mkx unbreakable variation skin i love this skin with the iced up mask 🥶, with a hood similar to scorpions in mkx.I love the puffy vest it makes sense as he’s all about the cold and winter. Same with the hood, dont know why they never give him a hood, a hood makes so much sense for him being in the snow and blizzardy environment!!!
I know Cyber Sub Zero and Smoke switch places in cyberization but MKX Triborg aren’t part of the cyber initiative they’re 4 100% robots that were made completely on the 4 main Lin Keui members; Sektor; Cyrax, Smoke, and Sub Zero. So I think NRS making Sub Zero a “secret 4 *triborg* that is a blue tinted Smoke was to pay homage to the Klassic games with Smoke. But then Smoke did have a light blue tint to him in the klassic games and they manipulated that perfectly in MK9 with cyber Sub

I am too lazy to watch it the whole way through again but did you the include the Sub Zero from Armageddon? I think that’s the best of all time. It’s really similar to MKvsDc. It’s actually the alternate in MK Deadly Alliance as well.

Mk9 primary sub-zero design is top 3 you don’t need a lot of design on a character to make it good. It’s a clean n cool fit

Suggestion: all black dragon fatalities ranked (tremor,Kira,kobra,etc)
Favorite sub-zero costume: original, deception, main mkx. Mk9 (Honorable mentions) his ice mask in mkx "but I wish it wasn't so glowy." Icy arms or icy veiny arms. clear White or blue eyes. Injustice 2's icy ribcage & ice shoulders. Mk4 ice legs.
Favorite sub-zero special: ice ball. ice slide (especially mk11 enhanced.) Mkx cold blooded. mkx unbreakable. mkx's barrier of Frost or any ice parry. Mkx Standing over head hammer. Mk4 Bone breaker. cyber sub-zero dive kick. ice clone (when done right.) Gotta be a better method then having no ice clone come out because your opponent is too close, and now you get punished for making the right move.
Favorite sub-zero weapon: mkx ice daggers (cold blooded.) mkx ice hammer.
Favorite sub-zero round lose animation: mk11 coughing ice.
Favorite sub-zero fight intro: mk9. both angles of mkx's. mk11 winter storm. Injustice 2.
Favorite sub-zero round win animation: mk9 ice slide, mk9 cyber sub-zero ice hover. both of mkx's. Every mk 11 one, except the jumping axe one & teleporting ice clone.
Favorite sub-zero normal throws: mk11 forward throw, mk9 (has same forward and backwards throw.) Mk4 one arm throw, mk deception. mk deadly alliance. Mk Armageddon.
Favorite sub-zero idle stance: mk 1& 2. mk9-cyber sub-zero. mk deception & deadly alliance shotokan stance. mk shaolin monks.
Favorite sub-zero character select animation: mkx.
Favorite sub-zero win pose: injustice 2, mkx, all of mk11. mk9. mk1 & 2.
Favorite sub-zero fatality: mk 1, both mk2's, mk3 ice breath, mk trilogy ice spike, both mk deception, mk shaolin monks ice slide, mk vs DC ice kick, mk9 (ice) spine rip, mk9 cyber sub-zero shiriken, all mkx, mk11 ice slide.
Favorite sub-zero x-ray: none but love his start-up for mkx & 9. Hate that it has armour, tho. It doesn't make sense, when you can hold it, as a counter. If you opponent hits the armor then he/she doesn't get frozen from the parry.
What I would like to see from whatever version of cryomancer we'll be seeing from what looks like will be another soft reboot is:
Looks: a look that incorporates OG ninja attire, with sub-zero's mk deception/mkx/mk9 look, also Something similar to scorpion's mk deception and mkx look (for sub-zero.) All white or all blue eyes. ice arms/shoulders/ribcage/legs (Mk4) or noticably icy veins. Ice aura. More sleek looking mask. If we get a female sub-zero, ice hair like Frost. Ice mask that looks like actual ice, instead of a bright blue, ice tray.
Moves: a command grab. two ice weapons moves total, in his combo list for stance 1. A weapon Stance change for more use of weapons, Preferably just his hammer & dual daggers. Parry/counter. More settle x-ray (sometimes less is more.) A grab where he holds you down and hits you repeatedly with an ice rock, that gets bigger with each hit (3 hits.)
Visually pleasing gameplay aesthetics: something like his mkx's select screen character pick. For his losing animation, he deeply exhales cold air, forming ice on the ground, then breaks it with a hammer fist before getting up. For a win animation, If he's a safe distance away, makes and sits on an ice throne ( maybe even saying, it's not that cold.)
we all know the 31st place skin would be higher if it was the subzero face that we already have, and the voice stayed the same
my top 5 sub zero's designs / costumes (MK) of all time:
#5: MKX revenant costume
#4: MK deadly alliance alt. costume
#3: MK11 tundra costume
#2: shaolin monks default costume
#1: MK deception default costume (shredder from TMNT references)
for me, his costume in mortal kombat 1 (2023) is the best attire ever, i think is really amazing, it might be an umpopular opinion, but i think is the number one
