    I have been in at least 30 camps all of Australia. This is one of the best I have seen.

    Far out, that camp is luxurious compared to all the camps I stay in. Lucky to have phone reception let alone an internet plug.

    Thanks for the upload. I want to start a job in the mines but was worried I would fry in a small room. Now I see there's aircon :)

    Nice donga set up mate! Little bit of effort and it's much more homely / enjoyable to come back to after shift.

    another good vid jase,
    i have always wondered about the camp rooms and my god they resemble prison cells. sometimes I think I would like to go out the "mines" however I really don't think id have what it takes.
    how is the internet connection out there? wouldn't be so bad if u could take a gaming laptop.

      Glad you Enjoyed it Jesse, yeah they’re a pretty dull place to spend so much time for most camps, though everyone is different. I’ve been to some pretty upmarket camps, though they’re rare in construction. Operation and maintenance camps are usually much better, as they are more of a long term setup
      Internet is also very hit and miss, sometimes it’s super fast and stable, and other times your lucky if you can load an email. Also you generally only have one network provider at the job. Most of the time it’s Telstra, though sometimes it’s Optus. Always pays to ask all these questions before you arrive 😉🤙🏻

      So basically what to expect working as a Fifo chef.
      Survival tips.
      And even better if you have a chef couple as my husband and I are both chefs and want to do Fifo so we would like to know how to get in as a couple at the same sight.

    Difference between this so called prison comparison is approximately $2000pw the individual is paid to stay in this one...with the relative comforts to make it bearable, food and beverage choice without scrutiny, I'm quite impressed with the accom units

      Ressy6 depends on the camp you’re in. A fifo camp for a construction project can be quite bad, though some are also good. Generally camps for operations and maintenance are really good

    How do you pack that up everytime you go on R&R

    • @fit4fifoaustralia872
      @fit4fifoaustralia872  Před 5 lety +3

      G’day Darral, I’ve always found the more tidy you keep your room, the quicker it is to pack up and set-up. I could usually get it done in an hour. Most camps or companies I’ve worked for offer a place to store a bag or two while you’re on RnR, so first swing I’d bring the essentials in a large bag that I could leave at camp or the company storage, then use a smaller bag on-going.
      As for the photos on the walls, they’re just laminated pictures with blue tack on the back they took about 5mins to put up/pull down. Hope that answers your question mate😎

    Hey! What’s the name of the airport express wifi extender called?

    • @fit4fifoaustralia872
      @fit4fifoaustralia872  Před 3 lety +1

      This one is only useful if you don't have wifi and only internet via plugging into the wall. It's called an apple airport express. If you have wifi in camp already however the signal is weak, you need something different which is known as a wifi extender like you've asked. I'd recommend spending more than $100 as the cheaper ones aren't too effective in my experience, though a quick google search should be able to help.
