Winds me up that so many fans these days don't know how great Donald was. Had it not been for injuries and being unable to play test cricket until he was 25, he'd have taken over 500 wickets at 21/22 apiece. Astonishing bowler.

Look at the crowds back then watching two great cricket nations, both with some great cricketers. Sad that now we see small crowds in South Africa and in Asia, the T20 revolution has taken that away which is very disappointing. Allan Donald made me sit up and take notice of the South African Cricket Team, he was a Rolls Royce in a sea of Toyotas. His bowling action rivals Lillee for the greatest in cricket and his pace was electric. A great, great fast bowler who took on some great players in their prime (Waugh's, Tendulkar, etc.) and never backed down. Shame we missed a few years of his career due to the ban.

I would not say he is under rated , all the legends rank him up there , one of his best duels was against Atherton and that was something special , I was lucky enough to se him when he toured the West indies , I had never ever see fast bowlers like that , he could get this love out swing , I think he bowled a lot of in swingers to right handers but I remember he bowled out Keith Arthurton and the stumps went flying . I agree , SA had a lot of great players and I am sure he would have gotten 450 wickets , I think he was a lot more terrifying than Styen.

Mayur Jadhav hehe same here bro. Whenever I copied his action, I got outswing whereas for inswing, I used to copy Jason Gillespie. For no swing, McGrath. :') incredible days they were!
