- Box 2336 was transmitted at 12:01 for a report of a house fire at 854 N. 8th Street. It was dispatched with possible entrapment.
Engine 4, 9, 6, Truck 2 and Car 43 (Wehr) responded. Companies arrived to heavy smoke and fire showing from a 3-story M/O/R.
Engine 4 stretched in and immediately began an interior attack. Crews darkened down the fire on the first and second floors. The rear porch roof ignited as the fire vented out of the rear of the dwelling.
The 2nd alarm was transmitted immediately sending Engines 10, 13 and 14. The 3rd alarm was transmitted by Chief 40 (Scheirer) bringing in Engine 11.
The fire extended to the Delta exposure and Delta 1 via the cockloft and walls. The bravo exposure also sustained fire damage.
Crews stretched multiple hand lines. Engine 11 positioned on Greenleaf and stretched a feeder line into the alley in the rear. A hand line was used to hit the fire on the exterior of 854 and 856. The line was then stretched into the rear second floor of exposure Delta 1. Members in this exposure were pulling ceilings in an attempt to stop the fire from spreading to the next exposure.
Command transmitted a 10-69 (evacuation) of the fire buildings as the fire intensified in the exposures.
The 4th alarm was transmitted sending reserve engines 5, 8 and reserve truck 1 to the scene plus all off-duty firefighters.
Trucks 2 and 1 were set up on 8th Street with their elevated master streams as the fire blew through the roof of the exposures. Engine 11's ladder was set up on Greenleaf.
The fire burned out of control for more than 3 hours and were still operating 5 hours later.
5 firefighters were injured during the blaze. An air-conditioned tent was set up to rehabilitate the firefighters.
The fire appears to have started in the kitchen.
A total of 7 homes were damaged.

I do not know how great of a team everyone else's PD and FD work, but its great to see the PD helping like this
All fire videos should be of this quality. Nice to see the pros at work, both police and fire. Thanks for being there for us guys.
I'm concerned for the inside guys, when I can hear the airpack bells in the radio comms. Those guys do need to come out and get bottles replaced. Hope no one got hurt.
Nice team work between police and fire fighter so good to see this. THANKS GUYS
It's hard to see what's going on with the extreme zooming.
The videos of these fire incidents are really outstanding.
I don't understand why there's so many negative comments on this video. The fire crews and the officers did a great job fighting this blaze.
The way those buildings are built so close together, that had to be a nightmare to fight. Good job guys!
Great writeup! Lots of good info. Thanks
Fantastic teamwork and what an equipment. Great to see !!
Great coverage --- Debbie
Atta' boy to the policemen for dragging hose! What a superbly coordinated command team. Great communications.
It's sad to see the people lose everything in a fire.
Guys you must be careful. We all love you. Careful on roofs like this.
Great video!!! Made me feel like I was there!
Great communication on this fire ground. Fire looks to have gotten away a bit but I'm arm-chairing it here. Nice work regardless.
Nice building up front, what happened to the rest during construction.
Excellent video....thanks ! It's as if I am there with ya.
Great shots from the photographer!
Around 8.25 its not your alarm its on the video. I know I'm not the only one to grab my pager at that time frame. Huge "atta boy" goes out to the police dept for helping out. Police and Fire should always work to help each other out as we are both doing a selfless job were total strangers lives are put before our own . Great job guys to the stations involved . I am proud to say I'm a firefighter and a part of a brotherhood that goes way deeper then turnout gear and a fire engine. GOD bless FF's
What??? No pager sounds like that. Proofread your comment before you post it. 1st sentence makes no sense at a
Great video!
i remember hearing about this. was West End on Scene?
Everything is made out of matchbox wood!
Just a dissaster waiting to happen
unfortunately you are right, years ago the used better stuff for buildings
I agree! That was the best transmission of the day! Awesome! Would have loved it if Chief 40 had stuck to those guns when he was interviewed by the press, though.
That wasn't a ordinary house fire.. It was the start to the bbq season of the local fire department
Big job coordination looks good
That reminded me of a famous General's response to the Germans, who demanded that he Surrender in a French town to the Germans. And his response was "NUTS!"
Great work to AllenTown FD, and PD who helped you work that fire. You all represent what is happening across this nation in the name of Politics over Common Sense.
In NOVEMBER....Be sure to vote.
Good job!
Police officers and Fire Fighters working together. Like this.
TEAM WORK YOU GOT IT
Epic.
GOOD JOB GUYS WITH WHAT LIMITED MANPOWER YOU HAVE
Holy..
Hi! I see it right, it's a wood house? Why they infom then not more first fire fighter for the first firefighing with water? Why I see in the first minutes of this Video no firefighter how use water and foam to cool the fire? Why go the fire to the other house - is no fire save wall between them?
You cut the best part of the radio transmission out. Right when you switched from the back to the front. Comm center to command : the mayor would like a call at your convenince. Command to Comm: I'll call the Mayor when I get enough men to fight this fire.
The mayor wants a call? Tell him to get his ass down here, I'm busy
very good.
I heard someone say "Marijuana". did someone fall asleep high?

they can save that house if they spray water on it.
Regina Bundy they can't just do that you need to air the house out too
Funnily enough houses don't just burn on one side.
@@Biffo1262 can I give that one ten thumbs up?
I don’t see an aerial, I don’t see a deck gun. I don’t see knocking the fire down from the bottom up. Fire goes up, any fire on the top put out, will promptly be replaced by fire on the bottom. I’d love to know what crews are doing with their air bells going off in the midst of a fire sandwich, without proper suppression set up first.
3:24 shows police officers fulfilling their childhood dream...lol
I don't understand venting unless you can get water down the vented area. It also seems in these video's they fight the wrong fire.If the building is destroyed any way why not save the remaining structures!
The NON thought out Idea is that if you cut a hole in the roof, heat rises and you create a "Chimney" that will let the heat from lower floors go out the top and make the lower floors safer for fire fighters. If they were to actually THINK or had any idea how a chimney functions, they would know you Can NOT turn a structure into a chimney. Therefore, it's a dangerous and useless risk to fire fighters and Helps to burn the roof off.
LOL! JB, I just knew you'd chime in with something stupid. True to form, well done.
@@JB91710 verticle vemtialtion retardds horizontal spread.. Not a good idea in lighteeight construction but essential in attached occupancies that are not lightweight joints. Nothjng about ecposure protection ?

@@JB91710 not always the case. If you have a top floor fire. In an attic, an attic of attachef occupancied or cockloft or a balloon frame joint you better get the roof. Of it's lightwright construction, then that's a limiting factor. If your faced with cimtents only, horizontal usually eill suffice.
Anyone the bunch of cops trying to steal the motorcycle at 2:05?
"Another body". Eep!
why arn't those trucks read to spray when they leave the station, go there and set up while its burning, like a bunch of kids
from what i have heard only the engines have water.which is a shame spend alot of money on trucks but cant carry water.not a good start is it.get water on the fire ASAP then work out what next to do.the 2nd house could have been saved but nope we wait see what happens
I'm sure all the firefighters doing the job will be extremely grateful for your extremely professional input but, there are practical limits to what a vehicle can carry and a gallon of water weighs ten pounds. It is totally impractical to fit water tanks to special appliances like aerial ladder platforms that weigh close on 20 tons and more and, besides, just how long do you think a four hundred gallon water tank lasts using an aerial monitor. Less than one minute! Water tanks are basically for hose-reel or 38mm 'first aid' attack such as a one room fire order fire. You just cannot send in firefighters without establishing a constant and reliable water supply. Not only is it bad practice, it is tantamount to a death sentence. I suggest you leave the firefighting and appliance design to those trained to do it.
@@mitymo1968 Most career (and somd volunteer)fire departments in this country devide labor / tasks o n the fireground. Specific tasks are assigned to particular units assigned. Engine ckmlany primary mission is to get a effective
Line appropriate for the confitions encountered and establish a patent water supply. Later due engine company (ies ) ensure initial line is operating and effective, ensure patent wayer supply and stretch additional lines. Truck companies are tasked eith evey thing else. Assigning specific tasks, to members (riding assignments) assigned to apparatus designed and equiped to perform those tasks provide for a "safer" incidentre and diminishes "freelanciing ' Far more effective use of your prople. There are aerial
apparatus that have pumps and small booster tanks. Though popular in dome areas of the country, they're usually not wrll thought out and best have far more shortcomings than advantages. They are "bean coumter machines" (I'm certain I'll be getting a shitload of comments) these machines can't carry enough equipment. (hosr, water, appliance or portable ladders, tools, etc) unit mission is "schizophrenic"and freelancing" much more difficult to manage. The most important aspect is proper staffing ! Without enough members assignef to a sufficient nimbet of companies. Fires must be fougjt consecutively not concurently. This is the case in virtually every incident you view on line.
Did he say car 7 ?
He said 47.
This is nothing about the fire: the words "NUTS" were spoken in the BELGIAN town of Bastonge. "The battle of the bulge."
A vented roof is not required. Unnecessary risk and will help the fire accelerate UHM, which it did. Water on the fire? You think? If the fire didn't totally destroy the house, the excessive use of aerial water did. "Put the fire out as fast as you can using the least amount of water". This will make you have to think.
What does UM stand for?
@@ronginzler6600 The expression, "Umm!" Sarcasm.
@@ronginzler6600 Don't worry, I can see why there might be confusion with his poorly written post. Our friend Jack is pretty old and kind of dumb.
omg wheres the water?
They don't use water to fight fires until the end when they realize that all the other tactics they believe in Don't Have Any Affect On STOPPING FIRE! The worst part is they will do the same things on the next house and Will NOT THINK OR LEARN! All this is at the Homeowner's/Taxpayer's expense.
Water is visible falling through the field of view at 0:17.
better buy ins. cause these guys aren't gonna save anythig! LOL
I hate to hear these interphones all the time !
Walkie Talkies working great. Very good job. Bring some water next time.
4th alarm? I've could have pissed that out! :-))
Yeah, right! Sober up and watch the video again.
@@brianfarley4496 Yep, those who don't agree with me must be drunk! Whahahahaaa.
@@taunteratwill1787 So next time there is a fire, in your area, go piss on it. The video shows multiple buildings in close proximity to each other. More than one building is on fire, but apparently you can't see that, so you are either drunk, blind, stupid or all three. So fuck off! with you phony statements and bullshit.
