Depending where you search, the collective noun for jellyfish is bloom, flutter or smack. I think a sting of jellyfish would be more appropriate

I just spent a few days at Lulworth Cove and aside from thinking “yes, it’s all quite lovely”, also thinking “I’ll bet Cadoha has been here”. It certainly looks like an anchorage that would be included on your website.

The answer everyone is waiting for is ...
A grouping of jellyfish is called a bloom if they are wall to wall in say a marina or cove, a swarm or smack if grouped like Bees, or less commonly a fluther if grouped "line astern" to move through currents.

I'll be down on that beach next week. So far I've been there by speedboat, dinghy, canoe, on foot and by car. Maybe one day I'll add sailboat to the list. I spent what seems like half my childhood down there and much preferred the Roseland Peninsular before all the posh people moved in. I don't really fit in anymore with my 19 year old Pleugeot. I learnt to sail with a local (I want so say fisherman, but that may be my imagination) from St Mawes, who lived right by the Harbour, back in the 80's on one of the local designed and built boats.

St Mawes is dead posh. Last time I anchored off there was in 1998. From memory the Co-op store was a SPAR back then. Most convenience stores carry basic wine selections. Not St Mawes... alongside the cans of Special Brew and bottles of Blue Nun were bottles of Krug and Louis Roederer champagne. 🙂

I did not know the English word for a herd, stampede, flock or school of jellyfish. Logical, as English is my second language. However, I adopted the new word for clear water. Fed up with "crystalclear". "Ginclear" it will be for me from now on. And.....Hank is a Vizsla. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Beautiful footage as usual! Why did you change your channel name? Also - are you guys heading back to a marina for the winter and do you have any recommendations in the Southampton area? We have just bought a 36-ft sailboat and would like to move her there in April! (She's currently in Kent for the winter)... can't wait to start exploring all the anchorages you have documented!!! Thanks so much!!!

    • @CadohaAdventures

We really like ocean quay in Southampton. Reasonable prices and beautiful facilities also not far to walk into town.
As for the channel name we spend more time hiking and diving than we do actually sailing plus we have some adventures to the mountains planned soon and so we just felt that ‘adventures’ encompassed more of what we do, rather than putting mountain climbing videos on a sailing channel.
As for this winter we’re coming out of the water next week and into a shed for a whole host of jobs. It’s going to be a super busy winter indeed.
