- Today I have an old 2004 Gaming I'm going to refurbish and try some games on.
Although it was a pre-built, the GPU in it was pretty high end for the time.

you actually put lots of effort and time into making these videos, I cant believe youre not more known!
Thank you!
Looks like an ATI 9800 pro
I agree! :)
where yo fame at?? your so underrated, and just gained a sub
tysm
Those 6800s on AGP are actually pretty pricey even today on the second hand market. It was the RTX 4070 of 2006
Yeah, I noticed that when researching this gpu on ebay, do you have any clue why?
@@ScuffedPCs AGP cards are well known for failure so cards that HAVENT failed yet are very sought after.
@@qtlunacyy Doesn't have anything to do with AGP. These run hot and they need new paste and thermal pads. AGP systems usually have 0 airflow cases so probably that's why "agp fails".
@@ScuffedPCs it's expensive because it's a great card for retro collectors and retro gaming systems. It's one of the best cards you can get on AGP. That thing can run almost any game from 2000 to 2008 if the rest of the system is up to it
@@laur6405 eh, sounds about right 🤷♂️
i wish we kept all the computers and stuff i had as a kid i had to go out and buy it all again in my mid 30's
Newer Nvidia drivers aren't optimized for AGP cards. Try the Forceware drivers. Either 92.91, 93.71, or 175.19. You could always just swap the working PSU into the other system so you could "test" it too. Cool Video! Good Luck!!!
Thank you so much, I definately will try both, especially the drivers, i really appreciate that.
@@ScuffedPCs instead of replacing whole PSU you can just swap this GPU in working one, it's just easier this way
@@rem_0I definitely could and was actually going to be the idea for my next video.
Try reinstalling drivers and repasting gpu as well as making sure the agp slot is clean. If you still have problems after that your gpu might be damaged unfortunately. Best of luck!
I had an HP a200n a back in the day, same case as yours. Love the case design and that machine. Mine didnt have an AGP slot through just PCI and a Intel Celeron
🙂 neat, open up a GOG account and start building up a library full of older compatible games. Just wishlist everything and pick them up when they hit Historical Low.
Install video drivers from about the date of the games you want to run for better results. The latest on these AGP cards are... not great.
If that doesn't help it's possible the card is faulty. Maybe swap it with the ATI one?
we also used molex to power dvd/cd rom drives/ide hard drives
Maybe the Nvidia gpu had to low memory and it couldn't load textures n models?
Swap 6800 with the AMD card and try that
🙂 if u dont have alcohol on hand u can use paint thinner, gasoline, diesel, and a few other things that u have around the house. And of course u can always use a tub with hot soap and a good dish washing soap like dawn or palmolive. And stock up on detailing brushes, the round types are useful for everything around the house.
please dont use gasoline or paint thinner . paint thinner eats the layers on motherboards
@@amdintelxsniperxI was about to say, Christ's sake don't do what this guy is saying, do NOT use gasoline, acetone, or paint thinner on motherboards and delicate electronics! Not all solvents are the same!
It should be a driver issues
i had a q6600cpu and 2x8800gt sli in 2008 to play counter strike. starcraft would run great on the pc you found but not css. ut was more popular back then
ok, i have a system with no gpu, 1 gb ddr2 ram, and a pentium 4, and gta3 has no issues and runs like a dream, and the pc a a stock dell optiplezz gx280
'Promo sm' 🎉
that GPU is just shit thats why ur getting graphics errors, i bet integrated graphics would be better tbh lol
yeah the gpu is bad, but I'm running games that for its time, the gpu was considered to be high end in comparison to said games.
@@ScuffedPCs yea agp cards break quite often
Yeah for modern stuff obviously but it was high end for its day.
@@9852323 Yes, definitely.
Yes it is not an RTX 4090, it is an older high end card from back in the day which was the point of this video..
