For the sunflower, aim for the head. It takes a significant amount of extra damage from it. The best time to do this is when it attempts its grab attack since it will keep its head low for a while. Consort Radahn does have a vulnerability in his 2nd phase moveset; using Lord's Divine Fortification drastically reduces the damage of all beams of light. It's even more reduced with Golden Braid and Pearldrake Talisman +3.
You can parry Radahn’s aggressive combos in both phases. Or you can use either Fingerprint or Verdigris greatshield and poke him with a thrusting sword with bleed on it and you’ll just out-tank him.
Rot breath & fingerprint shield carried me through most of the DLC tbh. Just because I love using it to fuck around in PvP, and it seemed like every boss I fought was weak to rot with the exception of a couple
Getting Spear of the Impaler lets you go on a fucking rampage for a section of the game, specifically from Scadutree Avatar to Romina. Legit felt like the grim reaper using that weapon skill my playthrough.
It's also worth mentioning Metyr's arena is in water, so lightning can also do the job well. Was running an Ancient Dragon spell build against her, did quite well!
He failed to mention this about Radahn (as well as many of the other bosses of the DLC), but he's pretty susceptible to holy damage and bleed as well. Frost works on just about everything in the DLC, so that will also be a really good thing to use.
For Metyr her arena is also covered in water so lightning damage is also a good option. The new lightning spear incantation especially does a number on her
Fun fact, in canon Radahn is being healed of Rot and other conditions by Miquella. If you manage to get a frost status, the condition also fades much more quickly. Likely due to Mohg's burning blood shtick. So Bleed is the best bet. Though, thematically, I wish phase 2 Radahn would have been succeptible to sleep. Would have been poetic
Flame of Redmane can melting sunflower. Make some distance so the flame could spread to get multiple hits and aim to the flower. With proper fire damage buff, you will need 3-4 hit. (If not hitting stem or branch)
Scarlet Aeonia triggers rot immediately on him in both phases if you're able to trigger it without him canceling it out. I use it immediately after rolling when he does his gravity spin attack. I usually get hit twice afterwards, but it's worth it if you can heal somehow.
Radahns greatest weakness is the fact that he's extremely susceptible to being parried in his first phase, Major telegraph attacks, If you can Parry him into his second phase this boss becomes almost trivial that's exactly how I beat him
Another strategy I found is Metyr is standing in a pool of water. Hitting her with any form of lightning procks multiple hits. So Dragon Knight Lightning Spears is my best choice since it staggered her plenty.
God I loved that when I couldn’t beat radahn I was wondering what he could be weak to and then it hit me it’s gotta be rot and it was like actually the attention to detail is amazing
i found that blackflame is pretty good for radahn since it does % max health damage. this means his MASSIVE health pool (if you choose to summon thiollier and pureblood knight ansbach) isn’t a problem. still gotta deal with even HITTING him though in his second phase
Pro tip for Radahn: If you're really struggling and just want it over, I had an extremely easy time by respeccing into a shield-poke tank. 49-50 Strength 60 Endurance 27 Faith Greatshield Talisman Pearlshield Talisman or Golden Braid Old Lord's Talisman Two-Headed Turtle Talisman Verdigris Shield/Fingerprint Shield ANY spear, great spear, thrusting sword, or large thrusting sword (Note: Pearlshield Talisman is not Pearldrake Talisman) 27 Faith is for Golden Vow and Lord's Divine Fortification. Become immune to holy damage. You're now tanky enough that you probably don't even need 60 Vigor, but you should probably have no less than 40 Vigor. If you got spare levels for Arcane, bleed and poison on your poking stick of choice is a good idea. Hells, actually, bleed and poison infusion is still good even if you don't have high Arcane.
Some bosses can be shredded by using the ice projectile ash of war or just a cold infused weapon and then throwing a fireball/hitting them with a flame weapon when the effect procs so it resets instantly. I beat Messmer, Metyr and Midra relatively easy with them. They're all weak to frost damage, especially messmer. Same goes for holy slash one enemies that are weak to holy like putrescent knight, death rite bird, ghostflame dragon. It's a mid range option and when you hit them with the blade and the projectile at the same time it can do absolutely crazy damage. If you're struggling with radahn, I found out his first phase is somehow weak to holy too, so the golden wave ash of war on the sword that is made out of his dads spine does A TON of damage to him, 2-5K HP per cast. It's still making his second phase take so much damage that the HP bar gets yellow, but it's only half as effective and the boss is way too fast, also it has high FP cost. So I'll probably have to either perfect his moves or try something else, and I've tried everything at this point. I wish he wasn't that hard because I really like the presentation, design and music of prime radahn, he just feels so unreasonably overpowered compared to the rest of bosses. But hey we got the only two demigods in their prime at once.
what worked for me when fighting radahn was a str/arc bleed build using bloodfiends arm with bleed affinity. at 99 strength and arcane you can proc bleed in only 3 ish hits, which is quite quick when youre fighting radahn
2nd phase radahn is more resistant to rot than 1st phase because he (and any boss) becomes more resistant after the first rot and this resistance carries to the 2nd phase. You could avoid rotting him on 1st phase since that one is the easy part of the fight and keep it for the 2nd half. In addition to that: Commander Gaius is also very weak to fire and the tree avatar is resistant to black flame.
Love that fromsoft basically said: “But what if the boss just broke the laws of physics? We’re on the Z axis now! You like teleports? You like FLASHBANGS? You like 20 hit combo chains? How about an instakill grab? Oh you Love the Meteor AGAIN! Don’t forget the almost full screen magical nuke!
can confirm he's vulnerable to rot, i beat him first time with a blood antspur rapier with blood tax cause he has a few openings large enough to work in the ash of war. second time i beat him easily with a blood twinblade also i figured out scadutree was weak to strike by accident lol, i was trying to kill him with eleonora's poleblade and decided to swap to dryleaf arts and the damage difference was night and day(went from no yellow to some yellow :D)
Trick to Rahdahn: put on your heaviest armor, level up either verdigris or fingerprint shield to max as well as either the bloodfiend great fork or regular fork with blood affinity. And poke while standing behind the shield. Never drop guard except to rebuild stamina. Talismans: golden braid, lord of blood (or greatshiel talisman for extra d), pearl shield, double turtle. Edit: do not worry about weight and fat rolling or damage boost etc. Just keep locked on and keep the shield up no matter what. You're welcome.
Radahan is still pretty weak to both rot and poison in second phase as well. I am cooping and have an Antspur rapier with poison damage on it as well. I proc both statuses continuosuly on him and helped quite a few people overcome this final hurdle if the host is skilled enough to survive his comet attack.
Gave my mimic a repeating crossbow with Black Key Bolts in one slot and burred bolts in the other. Whole time Ansbach, Thiollier and I was facing Radahn head on, Mimic was riddling him with rot and bleed. Only reason I beat him was because mimic inflicted him with rot during phase 2… At 25% health the other three were dead and it was just me. It totally saved me.
For Radahn just get a chunky armor set, get the best great shield u got and some shield grease and use the Antspur rapier with bleed on it and you can just sit there and tank his attacks taking little to no chip damage from the holy in phase 2.
Using fingerprint shield and godskin stitcher on Radahn paired with the verdigris armor set is a very effective strategy. If you just mind the stamina and don't stop blocking his attacks do very little damage even in 2nd phase.
Personal Tip : Radahn is Parriable, so he's weak to parry, basically all attacks are parriable (that isn't the gravity ones) This includes: - all the first attacks - the Bloodflame Slash - some of the follow ups from first attacks This can make second phase easier as it cancels out the light beams
Romina also has very low poise. So hitting her with 3 or 4 well placed power attacks (hold R2 on PS5) will stagger her, allowing for easier critical hits. Blasphemous Blade works wonders on her. Stagger her, critical strike and when she's open or far enough way, use Taker's flame for or an easy 3k damage.
Scarlet aeonia works pretty well on him, 1 cast is more than enough to rot him. You can also use the dragon communion breaths, but they might not be better for cost.
radahn being most vunlerable to scarlet rot is quite amusing
LMAO i didn't even realize xD
Don't know why he didn't say it but he's also very weak to bleed, same as mogh who he shares body's with now.

Blasphemous Blades goes bonk.
2nd phase radahn is more resistant to rot than 1st phase because he (and any boss) becomes more resistant after the first rot and this resistance carries to the 2nd phase. You could avoid rotting him on 1st phase since that one is the easy part of the fight and keep it for the 2nd half.
In addition to that: Commander Gaius is also very weak to fire and the tree avatar is resistant to black flame.
those black knights from rellana castle get easily staggered by lightning
Miquella came in at the second phase and was like: "Nope, not how my sister did it! He's not going crazy again!"
Radahn consort of miquella have one weakness that keep in the second phase: trusting damage
So you can pick up the Antspur rapier for him
Radahn would’ve been so awesome if i could just see what he’s doing his light beams are just to much
REAL and miquellas dumbass hair
can confirm he's vulnerable to rot, i beat him first time with a blood antspur rapier with blood tax cause he has a few openings large enough to work in the ash of war.
second time i beat him easily with a blood twinblade
also i figured out scadutree was weak to strike by accident lol, i was trying to kill him with eleonora's poleblade and decided to swap to dryleaf arts and the damage difference was night and day(went from no yellow to some yellow :D)
They'll all fall to my colossal great sword
Such complicated explanation for what uninevitably leads to Verdigris Shield + Bleed Thrusting Sword
Rahdan is also suseptible to bleed.
He's also has resistances to everything except holy.
"Very dramatic ending" shield and sprint with Quiet 🤣
Trick to Rahdahn: put on your heaviest armor, level up either verdigris or fingerprint shield to max as well as either the bloodfiend great fork or regular fork with blood affinity. And poke while standing behind the shield. Never drop guard except to rebuild stamina. Talismans: golden braid, lord of blood (or greatshiel talisman for extra d), pearl shield, double turtle.
Edit: do not worry about weight and fat rolling or damage boost etc. Just keep locked on and keep the shield up no matter what. You're welcome.
Using Rykard's Rancor against Scadutree avatar was DISGUSTINGLY effective ngl
Greatest weakness: Mimic Tear summons and Impenetrable Thorns. Goes for all the base game bosses as well LOL
This game is well thought out forsure
Impenetrable Thorns go BURRRRRRR!!!!
Radahan is still pretty weak to both rot and poison in second phase as well. I am cooping and have an Antspur rapier with poison damage on it as well. I proc both statuses continuosuly on him and helped quite a few people overcome this final hurdle if the host is skilled enough to survive his comet attack.
Thank you Ragone for helping with that POS
After finishing the dlc, I can confirm all enemies are weak to stone
bayle: IGON THE TRUE DRAKE NIGHT
Holy damage, this is news to me thank you
U can stun him with blood fiends arm and poise breaking tears and it deals bleed so combo it with blood flame blade
yeah bloodfiend arm is kinda nasty fr
Personal Tip : Radahn is Parriable, so he's weak to parry, basically all attacks are parriable (that isn't the gravity ones)
This includes:
- all the first attacks
- the Bloodflame Slash
- some of the follow ups from first attacks
This can make second phase easier as it cancels out the light beams
Fun fact the Lord of frenzy has a weakness to frost too. Making it easy to build
Me using the black knife at every start of the fight:👀👀
Midra is melted by holy and frost damage. Holy damage deals the greatest amount of damage on him
Thx currently at him and his damage is crazy
From what I’ve noticed: radahn is literally weak only to bleed. Everything else he resists.
Radahn is also weak to bleed in his first phase. If you time it, you can take a good chunk of his health bar away from the second phase!
Metyr is also technically weak to lightning because the entire arena floor is water, same as the hippos.
Scarlet aeonia works pretty well on him, 1 cast is more than enough to rot him. You can also use the dragon communion breaths, but they might not be better for cost.
For Radahn I buffed Cross Cut naginata with Blood Flame blade and that worked really well.
Another way of looking at it is if Radahn is resist to pretty much everything that just mean everything is viable against him.
I was having a hell of a time against Bayle until I used ancient dragons lightning strike. It absolutely shreds him.
blackflame is the way to go with its percentile based tick damage.
There is no resistance of the magnetic skills and spells that so purple electrify power is insane
That does magical and physical damage.
If it’s rocks, it’s a physical damage.
If it’s purple magic stuff it’s… well, magic.
