Great video Aman. I really enjoyed followed along. Thanks for sharing all the info. I live in PA so I'm not too far from Shenandoah and I may just come down and do this trail. I just subscribed. I am always looking for inspiration. I just started my channel recently. Let’s stay connected!

Thank you for this video! We are planning to hike this trail next month during the fall season. We are very excited! What is the summit's overall elevation gain? Your video says 3291 ft and alltrails says 2600 ft. Is the elevation from a different viewpoint?

I have to be honest, I did this hike over a year ago so I don't remember off the top my head. I think I went off the sign at the top, but every source gives a different number.

The top of the mountain is 3291 feet above sea level, but where you start in the parking lot the elevation is is around 700 - 800 ft. So both numbers are correct. You're hiking upwards around 2600 feet.

How early in the morning is early enough?

I would aim for the crack of dawn if possible.

If you are not in good shape, if you are not motivated, do not attempt this hike. Seems every time I go, some one who should not be there is holding everybody else up. Physically unable to do an obstacle or scramble, scared of heights, or just gassed out looking like they're about to have a heart attack. If you're not sure, take the fire road up, not the ridge trail.
