He was friend with Einstein, Disney and Ghandi. What a LEGEND!
TZalexandru exciting times indeed
I know and I think it's cool😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
No Doubt!
pffff... legend... I heard the Pope is friends with god.
Was also a friend of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India.
But didn’t mention facts like-
1. He shot all of his movie without a complete script until “The Great Dictator”.
2. He was a king of retakes, sometimes he took 300+ takes only for a 3 min sequence.
3. He was left handed, but was trained to write with his right hand.
And also, he once return an award saying, you are not qualified enough to judge my work.
HE WAS GREAT, THE TRAINED TO WRITE RIGHT HANDED, WAS COMMON. BACK IN THE DAY, THERE WAS RIGHT HANDED, AND WRONG HANDED.
And his last words where, "Why not?" After someone asked him " May your soul be with you. "
yup!
He was great at luring teenage girls into his perverted and fucked up sexual predator ways also.
Looks like you are a hardcore fan
I do agree that Charlie Chaplin was undoubtedly the most impeccable silent film actor. Still to this day he and his incredible inspiration and work is not forgotten. He is my favorite silent film actor of all time and his legend will still remain with all of us. We just need to keep it alive. Great video. ♥️
Indeed.
What about Buster Keaton?
Ty
@@HardKore5250 Chaplin, Keaton, lloyd, laurel, hardy, and most of those early funny guys are amazing, they didn't have thousands of predecessor's to study, copy, they were all pioneers of their art .
@@kevwhufc8640ALSO RUDY VALENTINO!😂😅😊😊❤
he is legend its not that easy to deliver a message without voice
Very true
But he do talk they remove the voices (because with the voice some people died of laughing i think lol)
His final speech in the movie the greàt dictator is where he spoke one of the greatest speeches in human history.
@@julianwaugh8221THAT'S ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT CHARLIE CHAPLIN IN "THE GREAT DICTATOR"!😮
I'm 18 and i'm a big fan of Charles Chaplin and I still watch all of his film. He was a legend
contribution of Charlie Chaplin is unbeatable✌🏻✌🏻👍🏻😇
He also did a show in Mexico
Ty bro
He still is
Same. You’re 20 now, right? I’m 19. I feel like those old movies have so much to offer. People need to see them again. I know lots of people who don’t want to watch because it’s “boring” but I’ve never seen a single person who actually did watch a full movie and said that he was bored.
The man is a Legend, wrote, directed & acted. With 97 percent of the work with out speaking ! ! ! Pure Genius !
Charlie Chaplin was a remarkable actor and a true legend in his time. God rest his soul. May he always remain in our hearts.
YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT CHARLIE CHAPLIN IS REALLY A TRUE LEGEND IN HIS TIME ⌚!😊
Chaplin is a legend
old movies Get people bored because they don't match the audience and life style of the day but Charle Chaplin may be the only actor from 1920s whom people still love watching
As outstanding as he is there are others.
@CommandonerBob 1 You have the digits in Chaplin's birth year transposed, as he was born in 1889.
Rhe Marx Brothers knew him too and in my opinion the Marx Brothers Were the Best.
@@piontropechetrini5640 Different realms of comedy; Chaplin was a master in his realm and the Marxes were masters in *theirs*. But I'm not arguing against your preference for the Marx Brothers over Chaplin.
@@vincentsartain3061 I agree. My personal favorite is Buster Keaton. But I still like the others. It's not that one is better than the others, it's that they all had their own styles, and it's a matter of opinion.
he was a legend... he made the world livable by bringing laughter to us...even until now by watching his old flicks....
He is iconic. I fell in love with his story and persona. 🥰
He also travelled in the Olympic, sister ship of the titanic
charlie chaplin was among the first comedy show i saw as a kid!
love him!
Ty!
Charles Chaplin - Einstein of comedy....
You are the einstein of nice words
do you mean chaplin was a plagiarist?
Whole world should be thankful for him and people will always remember his services.he was a gift for all mankind from our maker.
God bless him he’s greatest. And no body coming like him never again.i wish I was alive on that time to see him and if possible hand shaking with him god bless him.
then you would be gone today, is time for everything enjoy your life
A true legend he was and will stay forever ! And this quote is one of the best quotes I ever heard: " More than machinery we need humanity, more than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness, without these qualities life will be violent and all will be lost, the way of life can be free and beautiful."
Omg the fact that they were friends with Einstein is just blew my mind.
He also met Gandhi.
Chaplin was not a Jew.
They all liked young women...That's maybe why...🤔😅
They had a famous conversation about one not speaking and everyone understanding him while the other spoke and no one understood him
@@darrenjones3784THAT'S ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT CHARLIE CHAPLIN WASN'T JEWISH! BUT ALBERT EINSTEIN WAS JEWISH!
Modern times and City Lights are great works I highly recommend them
And the great dictator too
*Buster Keaton* deserves a spot for his *_incredible_* work...
I don't think there would ever be a comedian as good as he. He really was a great man..... RIP charlie!!!
Excellent video ! I have a HUGE collection of Chaplain’s movies, for me he is the BEST !!!
Correction: The Great Dictator (1940) was not his only sound film. His other sound films were Monsieur Verdoux (1947), Limelight (1952), A King in New York (1957), and his only color film A Countess from Hong Kong (1967). He only had a cameo in his last film though. All are great films, in my honest opinion. As long as people watch them with an open mind and not expect the little tramp to waddle by at any moment, they will appreciate them much more. He does dress as a tramp in Limelight, but not exactly the one you're used to seeing. He was such a talented man. He sings in Limelight in addition to dancing, some comedy, and drama. An additional interesting note on Limelight is Buster Keaton also appears in this film. It makes me wish that Chaplin had done more sound films. Despite bad reviews at the time of its release, his 1967 film is a really cute and enjoyable film to watch. However, I agree with most people that Marlon Brando wasn't the best choice for the male lead. I think it would have been a much better film with a more comedic type of actor. Sofia Loren was perfect for the part, though. It was a screen play he had written back in the 1930s for himself and Paulette Goddard. It definitely would have been a much better film if he had been young enough to play the male lead himself.
And modern times too when I sang the nonsense song
Charlie Chaplin has always been my childhood hero!!
Adam Koval my family hated him, when I, as a child asked my step grandmother, who's Charlie Chaplin,? I woke up 4 hours later, in a hospital bed
Randy Hutchinson 😕😑😐
Same.
Ty bro
His brother Sydney managed Charlie’s business affairs and should be given credit for the wealth amassed.
Buster Keaton, Mary Pickford. Douglas Fairbanks, Roudolph Valentino, Harold Loyd, Stan Laurel, and Oliver Hardy, I think that is a fair list of Silent Film Era stars. ( forgive the autocorrect when it changes the names)
Don't forget Lon Chaney.
Clara Bow and Lillian Gish, too :)
I love Bean:)
@@mohammadzeeshanali3683HE WASN'T BORN DURING THAT TIME ⌚!
@@rackinfrackinYOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!😂😅😊😢😮❤
Any actor that can Change the way you are thinking and feeling of the movie is a great actor Chaplin was one of the first to do it .
A tramp, a gentleman, a poet, a dreamer, a lonely fellow, always hopeful of romance and adventure,
I am a citizen of the world - Charlie Chaplin.
Am still watching his movies at 2018 here in Kenya
dodo Motionz very funny
Charlie Chaplin vacationed in Kenya with his family.
David Bacon wow we are so proud
True
Jambo! Habare yako? Is Chaplin popular in Kenya these days?
Really Chaplin sir was a legendary actor. Charlie Cgaplin sir was is and will be the legendary and greatest actor of world cinema. Chaplin sir's struggle in his early life span also taught us lot of things. Chaplin sir had also proved that one can laugh even without speaking single world. Really hats off to the great Chaplin sir and we and entire world cinema will never forget you. We will always remember you Sir.
It wasnt an actor, it was a director, actor, compositor, he is GOD
Charlie Chaplin is a pure talent and geniality with great feelings and deep humanity. A would say Toto' one of the best ever with Chaplin.
Knowing how much he liked diddling little girls, how horribly he treated his first two wives and that he praised Stalin's purges should make you reconsider his alleged "deep humanity".
LOVE Charlie Chaplin!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!
Saw my first Charlie Chaplin film yesterday and have been fascinated with this legend’s work since.
Dude was a kind genius. He is a big hero to me.
This proves Chaplin is a great man and very smart. If he could connect and stimulate Einstein"s mind. This guy did it all amazing.
As someone who has taken classes (and has a general interest) in both ASL and film history, I think that it's important to note that there were Deaf actors in the silent film era. Chaplin noticed that they had different reactions to things happening than hearing people. So, noticing this, Chaplin copied the expressive nature of the Deaf community to enhance his comedy, and also learned ASL and befriended Deaf actors he worked with.
I’d love to have seen the judges faces when they realised the real Charlie Chaplin was there and they gave him 3 rd place. 😂😂
His film delivers a heart and a soul
Tysm
TCM recently had a Marathon of his films. I recorded them all, then had my own Marathon! I just Love him. Gone but NOT forgotten! ♥️
He was greatest and most talented actor world ever seen.
He was greatest comedian on earth. I enjoyed my 70 years seeing his films though I didn't not see any others movie.
Whenever am too bored, I watch my late brother Chaplin, laughs, and "calls it a day"
No words, like he said in his honnorary speech. And like he made his movies.
It's great to know about some of the most successful people in the world...
but can you please make a video about which are the BEST PLACES/AREAS FOR CHARITY AROUND THE WORLD...
Kudos to the entire Alux team for putting out such phenomenal videos... keep up the awesome work! 😊
As time goes on, I get less and less amused by movies. I just came back from watching his "The Great Dictator" movie, and I was blown away!
Very informative , love the content..
Im always awed by him. Everything I see about him shows me he was a truly a great man in many ways. So special.❤
You might want to do a little bit more of research about him. He liked to seduce underage girls and treated his first two wives (whom he had to marry not to be convicted for rape) horribly.
Happy Birthday Sir Charles Chaplin! April 16, 1889-December 25, 1977
bought the whole collection of his work. Truly enjoyable. I prefer his shorts at Keystone. Being a fan, I did an improvised London Chaplin tour early 2019.
Stan Laurel also wasn't part of the clog dance group. He met Stan Laurel when Charlie joined a gig with Fred Karno Repertoire Company.
Fantastic video. Chaplin is a true inspiration. Just visited his museum in Vevey called Charlie's World..most amazing Museum i have ever seen!! Hands on..magical. What a legend ahead of his time. True genius in all his art form.
Charlie Chaplin was a great entertainer indeed !
thank you so much for the information
Nice review! Some details wrong. Chaplin introduced sound in sync with the sound movie era, and those films centered on sound effects. Modern Times (1936/37) introduced voices only coming from radios and such. The Great Dictator was all talkie, and all movies from thence forth were talkies.
What a performer really very mesmerised with that legendary actor.... And also thanks for the channel for sharing such a legendary character so that we could know who's that legendary personality was who ruled the era of 19 s 😍🙏🙏
He was a creative genius and a gentleman who knew what he wanted, knew what he liked and what he didn't like and he always carried on full steam!
He makes durable impression on mind. A wonderful man of silent era. God bless him
I know most of these but still thank you for sharing haha
Nice bro
Great video
Charly Chaplin it's more than Oscar
Harold Lloyd was another great comic genius.
Can't stop laughing🤣🤣🤣
greatest actor. you can never find today. I love you Charlie
He won the oscar for his great work
There will never be another Charlie in 1000 years! One of a kind
Greather than liffe! An incredible inmortal genius!!!
Hey Alux would you like to make a video 15 things about Alux.com
I always happy to see your daily dose of informative clip. i hope your chanel will be publish each day of my life.#######
Since l was a baby till date of age 52. I love watching charlie s movies without blinking my eyes. No other greatest legend like Charlie will be born again on earth
Correction: United Artists was founded in 1919 by D. W. Griffith, Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, and Douglas Fairbanks, not just Charlie Chaplin.
Laura - Yes, you are correct. He did not "own" United Artists, just a partner with the others.
mrsbrown andhercat Well partner/founder they all had an equal stake.
That seems fairly obvious seeing as the name is "United Artists".
Such a beautiful wonderful actor . Like shock to hear about his wife's being so young . And really didn't know how the US government treated him at the time . godbless him just wish he was around today to help out my father who is a writer they could have made a beautiful project together ♥️🙏
I just watched THE KID. a film from 1920/21 watching it 100 years later after it was made. Chaplin best actor of all time.
That's a f*cking story man.
Charlie Chaplin entered a Charlie Chaplin look a like contest and came in 3rd. Now that's a story. No this...this is something else.
Sakman Du similar thing happened to Dolly Parton as well.
"The Great Dictator wss the first and only full sound picture Chaplin ever produced."
Except for Monsieur Verdoux, Limelight, A King in New York, and A Countess from Hong Kong...
Thank you. I was about to post the same thing.
Correction...Chaplin worked with Stan Laurel, or Stanley Jefferson as he was known at the time, during his time working for Fred Karno in the British music halls, not when he was clogging with The Eight Lancashire Lads.
You are correct, this "information" is wrong. Stan joined Levy and Cardwell's Juveniles, but Chaplin never did, and they were both adults when they joined Karno.
Wow that's pretty cool Charlie Chaplin knew Walt Disney! 😲🙈🙉🙊
people will be falling in love with Charlie, for ever
Great man great artist
All times the best
He will always be a film legend
Things you didn’t know about Laurel & Hardy
Things you didnt know about Trump/
Legend or not, it was not what people liked in his play, he was a cheerful, an amazing and an extraordinary figure on the screen and could delight everyone, everytime and everywhere..... even the morons who ignores his wisdom now. That was he, Charlie Chaplin forever.
True that often great celebrities have a pretty messed up personal life, but Charlie Chaplin was a truly genius talent. Especially in charm, empathy, and lots of crazy comedy.(!)🎯💯🎯
Buster Keaton!!!!! Chaplin was fantastic, and I think his style of comedy was unique, but so was Buster Keaton, and Buster is under recognized.
I discovered him on youtube and since them i count him as the greatest silent clown above chaplin, harold and stan-ollie.
Harpo Marxs idol and friend.
Was he not a Chaplin discover?
Wow the first to be on times magazine....amazing
True Legend
Nah YOU are the true legend
Alux you amaze me🙌🙌🙌
Great to hear that Marie :)
The Great Dictator is the Chaplin's only full-sound movie? What about Monsieur Verdoux, Limelight, A King in New York, and A Countess from Hong Kong? Really, you should try doing some research.
True, and "Monsieur Verdoux" being an absolute off the beat film.
@@FranciscoSmirsley Monsieur Verdoux holds up incredibly well and seems like something that would be made today.
@@JimmyDaKoik Couldn't agree more.
He also wrote the song from the movie the countess from Hong Kong, beautiful song ❤❤
@@user-rz8bu6vl8x Chaplin wrote the music for most all of his movies. Remember the song 'Smile" from Modern Times? Although you did not hear the lyrics.
I like Lurel & Hardy too. Anybody watching in 2020?
Charlie's legacy will live forever man
He composed for his films, and edited much of his own films. He knew how to play 20 instruments.
'The Great Dictator' was the first full sound movie Charles Chaplin directed/produced but not the only - 'Monsieur Verdoux', 'Limelight', 'A King in New York' and 'A Countess from Hong Kong' were all sound movies.
Grande Carlitos Chaplin !!!!!!! saludos desde Uruguay 💟❤🙋🌼🌹🙋❤💜🌹
Of course....
He is the Greatest....
I still have some vhs tapes with some of his films and every year I watch at least 5 of them.
I am such a fan Had a smooth complexion even in his 80s. He was one of the most handsome men ever.
You are one of the most handsome humans ever
He did more fully sound pictures after "The Great Dictator". Look up "Limelight" (1952) and "Monsieur Verdoux" (1947). He was going to the the London premiere of "Limelight" with his family when the US government informed him he couldn't return to the country. Ugh! "Monsieur Verdoux" is a dark comedy sort of like "Arsenic and Old Lace". However, he is a bank clerk who loses his job in the 1930 stock market crash. He is unable to get another job after that. Therefore, to support his wife who is in a wheel chair and his son, he lives a life of crime as a bigamist and murderer by marrying widows with fortunes and then killing them for their money. They don't actually show him killing them. It's implied. However, there is one very boisterous and loud wife who is hard to kill. This is where the comedy comes in. It didn't do well at the time because audiences weren't ready to see him in that context. However, it's currently on Amazon Video and has 4 stars. William Farley best known for the character Fred Mertz from "I Love Lucy" also makes an appearance in this film. If you can get passed the fact that he's Charlie Chaplin and not The Tramp in this film, it's actually very good. "Limelight" is about an aging stage comedian so it's more of a drama with comedy thrown in here and there. Buster Keaton also makes an appearance in this film. There is a scene where Charlie does become a tramp like character, but he sings and dances on stage in a dream sequence. His experience in definitely vaudeville comes out here and you're left scratching your head as to why he didn't think he could have added sound to his Tramp pictures after talkies became the norm. He was actually an awesome singer and at 62 years of age still could dance around the stage with ease. There were a couple of other sound films made while in his exile. However, I have not seen them so I can't comment. But both "Monsieur Verdoux" and "Limelight", though, are very underrated films. I highly recommend both of them.
JulianFan55a thankyou, I didn't know
JulianFan55a Nice info. Thanks
Limelight is such a superb film
awesome
Buster Keaton for me, hands down! Love the guy! Makes me laugh so hard I cry! Love all of his movies, especially Our Hospitality, Sherlock Jr., One Week, The General, and The Navigator 👨✈️!
The academy bunch of haters, Chaplin deserves many Oscars he is a legend and pioneer. They just banned him due to his political views. He was not communist at all, he was a liberal or a social democrat.
so ironic that everyone in Hollywood today IS a COMUNIST !!!! ...LOL...GO BERNY lmao
He was an amazing man!🥰
Been a huge fan of Charlie for as long as I can remember ...
I'm a huge fan of you
Thanks... :)
