appreciate the video and your perspective. Was wondering - would you be able to do a short demonstration of Palantir software in action? its interface and perhaps how it is used to overcome a particular problem?
I did a series called Foundry in Action where I demoed it. I also did Foundry for Gaming where I built a simple analytics app.
When you asserted Foundry will "train AI" it blew my mind.....this is truly a big deal. Thanks
Don't let your mind be too blown.. "training AI" is a normal/standard part of machine learning; it's just how it works and is not at all new or unique to PLTR. Took a machine learning class once that explained this stuff.
@@evanpowers1537 The mind blown part, is that foundry is going to become THE OS for the AI revolution, and this is just one of the many things their software offers. It just reinforced something I already inferred, that I don't truly understand the magnitude of what Palantir has built, I know its disruptive, I just don't know how disruptive yet. There will be a large disparity between those using Palantir and those not using Palantir and that will become apparent over time. Yes, as you have said there will be other 'options', but would you rather have the local at the gym be on your team or Michael Jordan?....

Curious what's the text-davinci-002 model you're using. This might mean that that video snippet is quite an older one, right? Also, what's the ML model you said you're using here 7:36? Is it SHAP?
The version in the playground in GPT 3. I plan to use SHAP in Foundry Code Workbooks to understand the magnitude of effect of the GPT parameters like temperature. It can even be used to understand the effect on the language in the prompts themselves.

Hey Codestrap. With AIP release from palantir i rembered this video and man you literary predict this to the perfection.
I have some questions:
1. PLTR or NVIDIA where would you see the higest upside(stock wise)in 5 years.
2. Do you own PLTR stock?
3. When next video?
4. I have been using GPT 3.5 and 4 for scientific literature review (biomedical science papers).
As someone that cant what can I do to have a more efficient outcome when using these tools for scientific literature review?

I may not have seen in your channel a video on this topic, but it's been a while since i have seen in general on the internet or youtube a video on the type of artificial intelligence that palantir is using and developing. To what extent is palantir's artificial intelligence unique or is it rather the application of existing models that makes palantir ai unique. Many thanks for your video.
They have some models used in AI targeting on the military side. But there major value is providing the data grid to plug in and customize models from companies like OpenAI. I've always felt models will be the commodity.
I am not a technical person. However, I believe AI is the future and Palantir is number 1 in AI. It is just a question of time before the free world realizes the importance of what Palantir is capable of doing. I dont know what your personal plans are for the future. In my opinion Palantir could realy benefit from having a Code Strap on their team should that ever occur. Thank you for everything. Best wishes for 2023.

It certainly does. Meta has its own large language model. Google has deep ming which is by all accounts the most advanced AI on earth.
I foresee Palantir as an eco system in all our homes within 20 years.. 🤔

Apart from the amazing potential AI has, it strikes me as being dangerous in macro security applications, Running models you don't understand with inputs you don't understand and basing automated or human decisions on it is problematic. People in control of the AI could cause significant harm if its users are kept "dumb" enough under the pretense that the AI has got your back and/or knows better.
Is there a meaning to the term Codestrap?
Yes. I started my channel to advance software apprenticeships but somehow wound up talking only about Palantir. Its a play on the word bootstrap. Softwae apprenticeships are an alternative to the college track and are accessible to anyone with the willingness and talents to pursue.

Curious that something so powerful and game changing has so much difficulty generating profits. It's not as if Palantir is a start up, I remember being told it was game changing in 2008. We all get AI is the future, but it's a seasoning on enterprise software, etc. Not a niche company platform IMHO.
I agree with the vision. I’m just not sure Palantir will be the leading company to realize it. At least not with the current leadership.
I dont doubt the leadership but I share tje same concerns regarding execution, especially the GTM and sales strategy. I see signs though they are course correcting.

Tell them, if they continue diluting, SBC is not going to be worth anything anyway (like they don't already know that.. or do they?). The title of the video says AI at the edge but what you’re saying is that Palantir Centralizes AI and pushes humans to the edge. So why is it called AI at the edge? What am I wrong about?
The edge refers to edge networks and devices. For example content delivery networks, cellular networks, sattlaites, sensors, drones, phones, etc. The edge allows AI/ML to run as close to where the data is generated as possible. This reduces the time it takes for the AI/ML to analyze the data and produce a signal.

Do you think stuff like GPT and AI should shift the focus of someone learning CS? Did you change your recommendations for the best learning path considering those changes?
Its going to change software engineering for sure. CS degrees with the letters p, h and d in them will still be valuable. But certifications that involve prompt engineering should replace BS degrees, and thats a good thing.
No it will not, it will require more CS skills. AI is software. Yes , curriculums will change.
