kids (direct children or nieces / nephews) are a bottomless pit where you throw thousands of dollars into for a measly hug once in a blue moon. lol
Cooking steaks in a cast iron pan, IMO, is the best way. On a grill, your cooking surface is minimized to the metal grates that the steak is cooking on and will tend to be dryer because the juices will fall through the grill. Where as in a pan, you have a solid cooking surface of the whole steak. When seasoning, just use salt, anything else just sits on the outside of the steak, whereas salt will be absorbed into the steak.
sous vide is better

I've cooked 2 A5 NY strips and I really believe simple is better with this type of meat. I did only salt and pan seared. Usually I like to do a butter bath on steaks, but for A5 wagyu, the meat can stand on it's own. One cool result of the pan sear method is that the steak has so much fat that it renders during the cook and essentially fries the outside. So the inside of the steak is juicy and fairly rare, but there's almost a crunch on the outside from frying in it's own fat.
If you ever get a chance to try this cut of meat, go for it. I'm sure any way you cook it, you will enjoy it.
Any way huh... okay what's the most cursed way to cook steak and will that still taste good? Yanno, like boiling it in water or microwaving it

Shout out to Emilio for making this video possible. The man is a legend!!!
Like 6 years ago i graduated from university and went out celebrating with my now wife and parents. Due to the occasion we shared some Japanese Kobe Wagyu A5 prime cut (4 people sharing 75-100g). It's the first and only time I've ever tasted meat like that.
The meat was good yes, but at the same time, in my humble opinion, also a bit too much. Almost 'cloying' (I think that's the word). As he says at 6:30 "It's like jello". The meat is so tender and fat that it almost feels like eating pure fat or something like jello. In my memory it actually lacks structure. I remember it as being too tender believe it or not. I don't think I would be able to finish a whole steak from meat like that.
Do I regret doing it? No, I didn't pay the bill :-P Would I try it again in the future at a special occasion if I had to pay myself? Probably yes. Is it worth the money? No, not as I remember it. With that being said, it is also a special experience to taste meat like that and have the feeling of "I just had the creme de la creme of meat. It cannot get any better than this". Is it really the creme de la creme of meat though? If the Kobe A5 was just presented to me as any other meat, I think, that from a blind tasting test, I would pick something else (and I'm a guy that prefers tender, fatty cuts like ribeye). Kobe A5 is just a bit too much in my opinion. If you love to eat big bites of *only* the fat at the edge of your steak, without any meat, then Kobe A5 would probably blow your mind.
That looked so Good, Guga. I had to get my enjoyment watching you eat that and just imagine what it tastes like because there is no way I could ever afford a steak like that, maybe not even a wagyu a5 lol
As exuberant as guga normally is when he just goes "wow" at 7:55 made me terrified of the idea of eating that. If it made a man who regularly is excitable and eats wagyu regularly have that reaction I would probably have a stroke.

@@pneumonoultramicroscopicsi1142 you are probably right!
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis I’d say that’s pretty obvious haha but a5 IS a measure of marbling, the cows are all vigorously assessed before they can be classified A5, hence the certificate. So i found it weird that they were both approved as A5
@@lukedfluke well they both definitely qualify for A5, but I guess it’s a little weird they are considered to be in the same marbling score category in the 1-12 rating, I guess the one with less marbling qualifies for like the bare minimum marbling to be the same score as the other, businesses will always have their skeems.

@Jaxon Mummy why?
@@WeightlessFlex it washes all the blood(juices) out of the meat
That steak turned out so good that this is the first time I hear guga trying to end a video so fast to enjoy that steak 🤣🤣
Didn't know Guga was Brazillian...
Makes sense since he knows picanha wich is a meat cut very popular in Brazil
Just tried one today. I gotta say, I’m impressed. Very few foods can be 12 bucks an ounce and be worth the money at the same time.
I really wish to eat anything Guga makes. I hope one day some how I can eat with him
