- Plague Inc is a game that allows you to mutate viruses and bacteria to take over the world, and I decided to use this to give you a warning of the biggest threat to human existence since crossroads were invented... Is this humanity's biggest threat?

RCE is the type of guy to end a 10 year friendship when he finds out his friend has a distant cousin who met a architect once long ago
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes
XD
So you wouldn't do that, is what you're saying? That's what an architect would say
if you're an architect why're you watching an engineering video
Proof that engineers are better???
@@polygontower because architects cannot implement their fantasies without engineering, and engineering becomes monotonous and boring work without architects constantly setting the impossible tasks.
It's like yin and yang, good and evil, jedi and sith, two sides of the same medal. Evil architects constantly developing most crazy designs and glorious engineers constantly developing ways to implement those designs in concrete and steel. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
RCE: *loses game*
Also RCE: "I won!"
Because the architects got eradicated
" i see this as an absolute win"
@@francescozanzottera3381 true
@@LoneTuber. yeah lol
it was all cakculated to show us that even by an engineer's help architects can't win
RCE : " Is this Humanity's biggest threat?"
Me : " Yes.. An Architect of course.. "
Lol
LOL indeed
My grandson just called me absolutely going crazy and demanding I watch this video. I am a retired electrical engineer and he was about hysterical with why I should watch this. This is very funny and I do indeed have architects as old friends. Although if left unchecked I am positive everyone would die from pretty things that look great on paper but are absolutely impossible in this dimension... Maybe if physics work differently...
I wish you all the very best of health, happiness and all the best wishes to you and your families!
Same to you Mr Townsend, same to you! :)
👍
@@TarekNicoMaxim Thank You! I appreciate it!
i wish nothing but happiness and health for you and your family. this is so sweet 🥹
Seeing Greenland, Madagascar and New Zealand get infected
Plauge Inc player: That impossible.
Architecture is truly is dangerous for mankind
It was always some African country like Angola for me.
@@saxamusprime Angola is underrated when it comes to hard-to-infect countries.
I always start in Greenland. Lol
@@Etrius_Fysik its not a good starting point but its worth one for sure.
@@Etrius_Fysik yep. but then either madagascar or papua new guniea ruins you
I think it should have been an alternate universe where Earth was dominated by architecture and you were sent to infiltrate the world with Engineering through viral mutualistic symbiosis.
So... Neurax Worm? ;-)
5:46
I coughed literally as that popped up, but I think I'm fine.
Though I do have an odd craving to make a skyscraper that looks like a screw with chrome linings on each bend and varied coloured windows all with their own unique flower decorations.
Quick put this man in quarantine !
Oh no this person has gone insane
@@lordwalrus8615 We're losing him!
In future play throughs, once you reach 100% global infection you can go back into the menu and sell your transmission stuff to get some points back ✌️
No. Doesn’t work without the Gene.
I’m poor I have no ma nei
What do you mean?
You just scroll to whatever you bought, tap it, hit “devolve”, and get a small amount of points back.
You shouldn’t have to pay anything, I know I haven’t.
@@ZealousWZephyr You need to unlock the Gene for that. You certainly can devolve it, but it costs DNA wirhour Ionised Helix
@@aidtim1350 thats only on viruses though
Architects, the classic blight of mankind.
Surprised it's not listed as an option by default.
someone made a custom scenario called "Tiny desk engineer" which would be perfect for you to play
+
+
I second this.
That sounds super
@@SumitRaj-tk6iw You actually fourthed it :3 + is originally a nerdfighter thing where we leave that as a quick comment so as to say "This deserves attention"/"I agree with this"
It works for the algorithm boost of a comment and thus pushes the comment that we +d further up the top comments, increasin the likelihood the channel owner will see the comment and interact with it.
Love this game and the channel, sidenote make a plague that effects only architects.
Agreed. That could be a custom scenary, don't you think so?
Just use the "UH-OH" combination of coughing with diarrhea
14:05 The fact that you selected Japan at the end with 69mil deaths makes the ending even more spectacular!
The fatal, or should I say vital- flaw in your disease engineering was spending points on the reshuffle too soon. When you buy the genetic reshuffle it slightly lowers existing cure progress as well as slows future progress.
And also really low lethality
it was spending all his points on infectivity, so by the time he needed lethality he had no money for it.
you have to start gaining points from deaths to keep up with the cure, or go from full infectivity to total organ failure instantly.
That is not how reshuffle works, reshuffle doesn't actually lower the existing progress, it raises the points needed for a cure.
So it lowers the % you see, but it does not matter when you take the perk because it raises the needed points with the same points.
You can see this effect when you look at the "cure graph", you will see that it does not influence the research points done. Only the total amount needed.
Today, it is raining. Drenched, my friends and I saw a small sheltered area, so naturally we rushed there. Above the large wooden beams was not a roof, but criss-crossed smaller wooden beams. Damn architects and their non-functional treachery!
“Now birds are really starting to spread architecture.”
Damned architects trying to mimic bird nests.
Definitely need a scenario play through for this game with either architecture or engineering as the disease.
Love when plague inc comes back. A classic
Cruelest thing i have ever seen in this game, a deadly virus AND more architecture. Can it even get any worse?
RCE should have played this as the nurax worm. because he could have gotten the win condition of "the whole world worships architecture."
You can devolve any new mutations. I always devolve symptoms to keep it under the radar. When the whole world is infected I go straight to the bad stuff
A Doctor in the UK: "Oi, why are all these buildings all twisty? Must be some Architecture going around..."
You get more from red bubbles if you have severity. that's why the first thing i usually upgrade is to skin lesions.
and lesions go up to necrosis, one of the most useful symptoms since it allows dead people to keep spreading.
Actually, it makes a great deal of sense that un-engineered architecture would be a highly contagious and lethal illness, considering what falling buildings can do. I played a LOT of Plague Inc. in its development days, but I haven't played in a few years... this video is making me want to get back into it.
I remember the flash games. Ages ago.
I would think that architecture would be more of a fungus in the way that it plagues the world with its eyesores and silly designs.
As a mechanical engineer, I applaud your attitude toward architects and their wicked "craft".
I love the fun music over the scary in-game music
Man this brings back some memories. I remember playing this game during boring lectures in university. Good times.
I love crazy buildings, but also your channel! ;)
Raise infectivity before lethality, that is what I did in PlagueInc to beat all modes on hardest so good call.
I played it years ago like 2014 ish and always started my illnesses in China.
Great video 👍 but you can devolve symptoms so there's a lower chance a cure gets started. This means you can spread more easily and sometimes even infect everyone on the world before they have even found you disease
11:35 Oh my god, I know that building - it's the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. Even got the nickname "Fortress of Solitude" back when it was first revealed since it looks like Superman's HQ in the old movies with Christopher Reeves.
Him "It's a bit warmer in the south."
Me "Sooooometimes. But it barely stops raining."
Me: *Casually yawning*
RCE : This is what an architect look like.
Me: *Choking on yawning*
10 months after this video, and i want to create an upside down pyramid with glass vines covering it. Pretty little flowers as well, and no support beams because that degrades the beauty. *cough*
between this and "P.E.N.I.S. is how you stop tsunamis" there is so much entertainment to have.
Fun drinking game: Take a shot every time he says "Nice."
Nice
Awesome video, love watching plague Inc come back
Just a few tips for the game itself
The air filters notification means that the disease has to upgrade the air transmission to cancel it out, there's also a similar notification for boats.
In bacteria difficulty you can unevolve some symptoms and gain DNA points, in higher difficulties, this is backwards, and you spend them to keep the mutations at bay.
On transmission; stick to the similar trees (eg, animals; transport) so you can get the center one and its absurd how strong the transmission rate becomes.
The first sign of someone who looks itchy at the site of a weird shaped glass skyscraper, and I'm buying supplies and locking myself inside.
I want more of this
Eah, that's the R.O.M. 11:35
As a ex-furniture mover, I've helped install a large heavy ass antenna on the roof of this building...
Hoisted up I-beams onto the roof with a small crane.
I always name my plague "Happiness"...."Happiness has been erradicated"
Matt literally plays every single game available.
Should hold a poll for your viewers:
Engineers;
Engineering students;
Other STEM;
Non STEM;
Architect.
Wow, this game has come a long way over the years.
It looks so much better now
and it was updated with the covopox update
Finally someone is playing this great game again
Game is super easy to cheese.... play as normal (I usually start in Egypt) rush for insects/water/air, pop bubbles, also get heat/cold resistance etc as you go - pause when ever there is a random mutation, and refund(de-evolve) the trait, get some points back - keep doing this until 100% are infected... (should have ZERO mutations) then pause the game, and go from the bottom left up to 'total organ failure'.... no time to detect, and everyone dies in about 2 minutes! :)
2:10 "Justin Bibble trampled by fans"🤣
0:28 buildings would regularly break all know laws of physics
Someone build this guys a custom scenario
RCE gives me the same vibes as Josh from Let’s Game It Out…
Meaning I love the videos keep up the good work mate! Also wish me luck I’m on the route to become a Electrical Engineer!
4 people infected with Architecture. xD 2022, Ground Zero: "Wow... you know what.. I never noticed how NICE that building looks." 13:09 :O With all this ARCHITECTURE just imagine what the Olympic village would look like!
Peace, love and architecture??? WHAT?
11:03 "give myself a genetic reshuffle" RCE is Architecture.
i kinda have architecture as my backup plan for after my zoology so your channel has been really funny for me i do want to know though do you just hat architecture or some of the people in it?
Me upon starting the video: I am an architect but I love your videos so I will still watch it!
A bacterial bird FLU? I've though I'd seen horrible architecture but that brings it to a whole other level
Little "Hack" i used when i played that game:
If it mutates any symptoms, but you want the disease to remain unnoticed, you can directly pause the game (normally it pauses by it self) and "re-evolve" the symptom.
It normally gives you free points and it massively reduces the risk that it gets spottet.
:)
Done the same myself.
There'll be counter levered swimming pools sticking out of tornado skyscrapers everywhere!
Tip 1: Devolve any symptoms before all people have been infected, then mutate symptoms
Tip 2: Save DNA throughout the game until all people are infected, then mutate symptoms such as total organ failure that increases lethality.
Tip 3: After all people have been infected, use DNA points to get the mutation that allows for more mutations without using DNA points (Max level 3)
Tip 4: Start in populated countries, such as China and India, especially China.
This is why I want to become an Aerospace Engineer
I can’t believe Matt oversaw the nice amount of dead people (69‘000‘000)
Hey RCE,
in germany it's illegal to draw / show the swastika but people with educational purposes like teachers are allowed to show the swastika. This is like your situation, for this video, and this video only, you're allowed to be on the 'Architects' side, to show us the danger of 'Architecture'.
OH NOOO! NOT ARCHITECTURE!!!
I think Big Bang Theory's continuous mocking of their engineer friend has traumatized RCE into hating the next person in line to be mocked, the architect.
0:09 that kind of reminds me of Wall-E
14:07 You should've noticed the nice number of deaths.
architects do all the important work; engineers just swing a hammer and even that's almost to mentally taxing
Angola seemed to be the most resilient. Love ur vids Rce
Loved the shout out to the ROM in Toronto, Canada
there is a game ("kinda" a sequel to this) called the cure! you should check it out, its exactly the same to be honest but instead of playing as a virus you're play as the cure to stop whatever plague that is going on. you should play it and be the engineer who saved the world from architects
You know, reshuffle is best used when the cure is almost finished to set it back a notch. When you use it early, you're wasting it. :)
Lmao, the architect joooookes kill me all the time!
Tip for this game: don’t start in England except for some brutal ones. Start in Saudi Arabia, China, or another densely populated region with lots of land borders and less medicine. So great job Matt for displaying what an architect would do, starting in one of the worst countries to start in.
One day the joke of architecture being the plague upon humanity is going to run out. But that day is not today!
you were the chosen one! it was said you would destroy the architect’s not join them. Bring balance to engineering, not leave it in darkness.
Obi wan kenobi 2005
Love your channel keep up the great work❤️❤️❤️
when civil engineer becomes a Doctor be like:
An Engineer... engineering architecture?!
I realized how lazy the devs where to not add Canada’s islands
I had nightmares from this game
Rce two things :
- when you have infected all the people , you can sell all transmission symptoms.
- invest less at the start
If you're planning to play again, you can sell any upgrade to remove it and get some dna. The better play would have been to sell the random mutation symptoms until the world was fully infected, then sell all transmission upgrades, and then buy symptoms upgrades working towards the middle where total organ failure is :)
Thank you for raising awareness
The most insidious thing about architecture is that it is good at showing off the hard work of the engineers that had to somehow make their impossible designs work! It sneaks in by using feats of engineering!
But if brutalism is a type of architecture, is there a civil engineering project that doesn't involve architecture? Wouldn't that mean that it is impossible for a civil engineer to do their jobs without an architect's help?
This is the prequel to that eggplant planet game
Not sure if you know this, but you can de-evolve to get a few of your points back this comes in handy for random mutations you do not want
Anyhow, great video as usual, keep up the game engeneering, I have truss in you
you can also buy back simptoms that mutate naturally so they don't raise suspicious too soon
Should have started a little more subtle. I usually just start with coughing and sneezing amd sell the rest. And should have gotten the airborne going as well
This game is too real!! Bring back all sorts of bad memories! 😂
This and infection i think it was called, something like that anyway. (App Store like 07/2010) *chefs kiss*
Ok, as a physicist I need to know: what is the difference between architectures and engineers?
RcE is going to Barbra Streisand effect architecture. His battle against it is just bringing more attention to it.
RCE mentions curved glass walls and all I can think is Vdara death ray
I knew matt was going to say it was architecture
RCE engineering architecture.
You know you can de-evolve to get points back right? Once the world is infected you should de-evolve transmission stuff and get the points back to increase lethality.
I'm surprised he's playing as architecture. He could totally work towards curing architecture instead.
Nooo! He didn't devolve the rash!
This was on Casual wasn't it?
He got into Greenland too easily and they reacted too slow.
Most pathogens in the game can be beat on the hardest difficulties if you keep symptoms suppressed until you infect (almost) everyone. Don't hesitate to Devolve spicy symptoms.
Also save Genetic Reshuffles for when the Cure progress starts.
RCE: Discovers there is a mode where you fight the disease and immediatly starts fighting architecture 🗿🗿🗿🗿
