Lemoine bringing back O.G. 2000’s Crankworx creativity! Love it!
I remember when Timo Pritzel did these huge gaps! Good times!
Yes!
Shoulda been Double Gold
I was there yesterday. When Lemoine tried the gap while on practice, everyone went wild. When he did that 2nd and third time, that was the loudest I’ve heard whistler. When we looked back at that gap, doing it on that kind of bike, honestly should have scored more. After his second run, everyone was so stoked and didn’t even stayed for emil.
what you talking about everyone stayed to see Emil
Tomas really made history after that jump
ye
On par with Kelly mcgarys backflip of the 70ft gap at rampage I reckon. Bonkers!
my i know what fork they use??? thanks i cant see in the vieeo
That would've been a huge hit for an Enduro or DH bike, the fact that he did it on a 26" dirt jumper is just so insane
@@jasonpatrickdeleon4701 just google the riders name and bike check
I dont question Emils first place at all, he totally deserves it due high technical difficulty level. That being said, the most exciting run from my point of view (I dare to say from many spectators point view as well) was Tomas run. Starting with manual of the deck and ending with the huge air, it made me laugh with joy.
Agree. Something punk rock like that should be rewarded more.
On the contrary I completely question his first place call, completely undeserving when you examine the two riders prior. This is why I stopped watching rampage.
That gap won it for me. Most people wouldn’t hit that on a DH bike
BMX bikers be like xDDD
@@Przemo_dobity_damper some time ago the consensus was that bmx riders are much more technical than mtbers, but right now i dont know if thats true
Most people wouldn't clear that on motorcross bike
@@fpsgenerator it's still true for a rare few. Once they start doing triple and quad whips it starts to look more like a day at the gym rather than something cool or gnarly.
I like to think that semenuk and rheeder are sitting watching and enjoying the path that they paved for slopestyle be continued
Facts like are rivals now looking at wht we did
I think, even though it does deserve a first place based on tricks, that Emil should start adding triple whips and different rotations (double back, front flips and cash rolls etc) to his bag of tricks. Nicholi started to see his combos rated lower because he used the same tricks all the time. And seeing a rider taking risk doing smth crazy and unusual (like Lemoine) should be rated higher. Only my opinion. What do you think?
True Emils run was technical but not as enjoyable as thomas‘
Absolutely, Emil run is only based of 360 combo. Missing some kind of variety
kind of agree, his strength is really his oppo-tricks which he was one of the first to start doing really well with more technical combinations
Tomas made history, no matter the ranking... but yeah, I'm with you on this.
Rogatkin wasn't scored higher due to lack of oppo tricks, emil on the other hand makes all tricks in all directions. Problem with emil is that he makes everything look too easy and we can't even process level of difficulty on his runs. But of course for us viewers this sport is subjective ✌️
Lemoine deserved the win. His run is what freeride is all about. He had spinny flips like everyone else, but NOBODY else made the crowd go that nuts with that send at the bottom.
This isn’t freeride. This is slope style
Lemoine is getting better and better every year. His progression is insane
I literally just got cold chills when Lemoine hit the last gap!
It's tough, because by the 'letter or the law' in terms of slopestyle the sport, Emil ticks all the boxes for judges. But even knowing this, as a fan I really enjoyed Lemoine's run the most. Despite that gap being the most rad thing I've ever seen in a slopestyle competition, it was technically a straight air. I would give Lemoine #1 but understand why Emil got first place. Must have been a tough one for the judges. Sick event tho in the big picture it was just awesome riding on an awesome course, can't complain about a free show this good. Big props to all the riders, Whistler, RedBull and all the others who make this happen.
I think I've watched this 57 times now 🤟✨
Thomas won in the worlds eyes…. Doesn’t matter if he has a redbull helmet or not. He won!!!!!
The best moment in slope style history! 1:08
my i know what fork they use??? thanks i cant see in the vieeo
Shame they had dogshit angles of it, hopefully some crowd footage comes out
its a freeride moment, in a slopestyle course.
@@jasonpatrickdeleon4701 Tomas Lemoine, who did the gap rides a RockShox Pike DJ
If he threw a trick on that jump, I don't see how he doesn't win. Even then, that jump was crazy. Almost Darkfest like. Probably feels that way on a dirt jumper.
By far the most exciting moment in years for Crankworx doesn't get rewarded with Gold :( It was a goose bumps holy sh*t moment for everyone watching! Don't care what anyone else did and nor does anyone else. Insanely awesome!
My mind is fully BLOWN! 🤯
Man, this was such an awesome slopestyle! Props to Redbull and the athletes!
lemoine is my favorite. soooo much style.
Whistler Black comb ride of my life!
Let’s see more of this !!!!!
Freaking excellent love the trick stuff 👍
I’m so sorry for Dawid, his run was absolutely buzzing. I think he would have been able to take the win without crashing
Yes i think the same.
That's been the situation with Dawid for a few years now. He is going so big there's little room for error. But if / when he puts everything together it will probably be a #1 or atleast a podium like RedBull Roof Ride (not an official Crankworx event).
@@24MPZ go big or go home 😉. This is sport with high risk. And bar is high. Also there is another factor. You must wow judges to win. If you will be the same as their favourite rider you will got second place. This is the same in UFC in title shot fights. When scores are even current champion will win.
Every major trick Johansson did was some kind of perfectly executed 360 combo. I don't understand how the judges give scores like that for just 360s.
Because they’re not just 360s.
Didn't he do an oppo 3 oppo tailwhip or something similar? I wanted Tomas to win as much as the next guy, but the fact is, Emil gives all the other riders a masterclass in what to do to impress the judges. Brett Rheeder is a great previous example of this. Guys like Tomas Lemoine, Nicholai Rogatkin and Sam Pilgrim are there to win, but IMO are more interested in impressing the fans. Neither is wrong. Crankworx is the world stage for Freestyle MTB.
Tomas is the People’s champ
It went off once again, been three yrs coming... epic
Wow. if Joyride is about bringing joy on the mountain bike, Tomas Lemoine did that this year. 1st place.
Wow it's been 40 years since my first table top jumps and x-ups. This just blows me away.
Double backflips and And 360 and he did nice tricks in the alien thing im giving im first place in heart
Lets get some 4k videos Red Bull!!!
Amazing!!!
I was there such a sick event
emil, 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Emilka zawsze wygrywa ech
What a freaky jump!
Beautiful 💯
It's an incredible game It's so cool
Emil is good but Lemoine deserved 1st. Sick tricks, sick style, and huge gap. I saw Emils run and was pretty bored, shocked when he took over 1st place in heat 1. Cool run but zero wow factor
360 triple bar drop beats the long gap by lemoine
The hap is absolut insane!
LEMOINE SHOULDVE WON!
De otro planeta …
Tomas with that gap should at least be 2nd
I think everyone but Emil need to get 3 runs
Being there was insane while lemoine was riding. The moment he got to the last feature and started pedalling everyone was on their feet going insane.
So sick 🤢🤟🏽
Lemoine is the MVP!
gap'ing that step up should have won ,just having the balls to jump that big deserves a gold medal
Things sure have changed since the first Kranked...damn..😲
GAH DAYM
Idk why more people aren't commenting about Tim? That ride was INSANE! Well deserving of #2 (with Lemoine #1 in my book!).
Wizard of cycling world
Emil just casualy playing Riders Republic on that run
no fear :D just tomas lemoine
Emil's style is just on another level 🔥🤘
I love how Bringer came in nodding, Lemoine came in shaking his head and Johannson just rolled through with a raised fist cuz he wanted to take his hand off ASAp
😍😍😍
emil making me laugh like he said something funny that kids unreal lmao
Cam mccaul the hype man, wouldn't be the same without him in the booth!
Lemoine got robbed!!
Tomas run was incredible but anyone saying Emil didnt deserve it is because he made it look so easy
Wow this is so fckin awesome 🔥🔥🔥
Would love to see Matt ride a comp again😂😂think he’s already past them now, sticking to YT
SOO MUCH BETTER than the BS online X-Games
🇲🇫🇲🇫🇲🇫🔥🔥
Lemoine should have got 2nd.
Emil is the Mayweather of slopestyle. Very technical, low-risk, high-reward, mostly unexciting, but knows how to game the system and has the money behind him. Sure, most guys can't pull some of the moves he does, but can he do a cash roll or a twister? Bet not.
Where semenuk at?
Fedko really got boned on this one, his run was easily a podium run, Bringer should have been bumped.
Tough call. Bringer had some massive tricks. Fedko definitely more steezy and technical with those down whips. Flip of the coin I'd say
No começo arrebenta no final não faz nada uiii
Imagine if he would have tricked that massive gap
I feel like Tomas Lemoine's run was better than Tim Bringer. Maybe I am wrong?
It was subjectively better. The judging has become too calculated. Points for this points for that. Amplitude doesn't seem to be as much of a factor in this compared to , say, a snowboard half pipe comp.
As long as Emils around its just a competition for second haha
If David would not crash i think he would win
Emil is a great rider and all but his bag of tricks is getting stale and I really didn't like his attitude in the interviews leading up to the event. Lemoine on the other hand went full YEET! I was wondering if someone was going to jump the whale as soon as I saw it in the preview. Lemoine does not disappoint! And Bringer had a killer run along with some other fantastic riders!
I’ve never really found Emil that good to watch, while I appreciate he’s the best technically. I prefer watching someone like Rogatkin or Lemione in this one who just go for it and do mad tricks.
Crazy Emily won without a single flip I thought they’d knock his score for only spinning
Man what's going on with Nicholi??
1:10 that's massive just wish I could see a side view.
my i know what fork they use??? thanks i cant see in the vieeo
all of them run a Rockshox Pike DJ I think
@@sapharts thanks i see RS pike
check out PinkBike on yourtube they do bike checks!
Lemoine first no three
idk bro the mega huge last jump from 3rd place deserved 1st place imo
Lemoine probably got quite some points from amplitude and originality but not tricking is not good for your score at all, imo he deserved 3rd...
It's not a a best trick contest. All he's other stuff was scored lower than the two infrint of him for good reason. Gap was insane though.
LEMOINE GOT ROBBED
Look Descenders got realistic Graphics :D
When the Lemoine Booter sends the fruit bowl to dirt.
Lemoine got robbed
Should've won. The creative and huge jump plus the double backflip and all the other good stuff... I agree.
@@PlaySA Shouldn't have won wasn't nearly as good as emil. kudos for the gap tho
Did Lemoine make the gap the first try?
Not sure how Lemoine didn't win this........
Cyborg! But that monster yuck will put more kids in the air than anything in the last 5 years!
1:11
Ware was this
Red bull joyride whistler
What about Godziek’?
first run got a flat 360 whip the second feature, second run slipped a pedal on an oppowhip onto the last feature, went back tried it again then crashed doing a cashroll off
Of he didn't crash i think he would win
Why do they keep calling a turn down an invert? Have I missed something
i don't think emile should've won that, the other two runs were a lot better to watch
still, Lemoine brought the crowds..
Thomas for the win for me...
Emil is amazing but....
@@julianmbruntEmil was boring and way too safe
Tricks are cool, but I'm sorry, Lemoine should have scored far more for hucking that gap!
The bowl feature just stalled runs and didn't add anything IMO
Bad camera angle ruined the huge gap 😂
Imagine if Lemoine had thrown a cashroll on that gap.
buddy a double blind cashroll????? I would have been happy with a fat tuck no, something in the realm of possibility... crashing on that gap is a straight trip to the hospital.
@@nyaheh5878 i reckon he couldve taken 1 hand off the second run, that mightve given him just a few more points for the gap
I feel like Emil's family of tricks is getting old. Maybe he has spoiled us for all these years but seeing him get first place left me so meh.
Yea but you know that the judges are always going to feel pressured and obligated to give him gold. Semenuk should come back just to spice things up like he did at rampage.
Same as Rogatkin, although he doesn't even podium anymore, Lemoine is my champ on this one.
@@erickcano23 well, if he'd land a run once in comp again. But nobody hast such a go big or go home mentality as him so even if he isn't as consistent as in the past he'll probably be on the podium again if he land all.
Emil is super talented, but I’ve never enjoyed watching his runs as much as others.
Slopestyle to me is so much more than technical difficulty, and I feel that novelty, variety, and amplitude don’t get scored high enough.
It’s boring to watch Emil do 10 barspin/ whip variants in a row to win every time.
I didn't even have to watch it to know the trek rider won 🤣
I dont get lemoines last trick. Can someone explain? He just jumped... No?
Usually you hit the small ramp, land on the wooden platform and trick off of it. He hit the small ramp, cleared the entire platform and hit the dirt landing on the other side. It was rad
Evil Knievel vibes bro
It's a double blind jump, typically you spot the landing the moment you take off, a blind jump is when there's an obstruction to your view of the landing increasing the difficulty of landing significantly. In this case there's 2 blind humps that you need to clear before you even spot the landing, that's a BIG leap of faith during a slopestyle run and should have been scored way higher.
It's kinda like skating from the eighties into the nineties, when the style of Alva, Peters, and Hosoi started losing to the tech of Hawk et al. It lost a lot of the artfulness.
Thomas won for me
