- The only European stop on the Crankworx World Tour, Crankworx Innsbruck brought the best-of-the-best to the foot of the Tyrolean Alps to kick off the season’s contests. With a beautiful day and no wind, the world's top Slopestyle riders threw down some wild runs to maximise their scores and conquer this iconic Slopestyle course. With 6 wins to his name, the unbeaten Swede, Emil Johansson was the man to beat. But after 1 flawless run, he scored a record breaking 98, a first for the sport! The battle for 2nd place began as Erik Fedko and Timother Bringer racked up the points for a podium finish in Austria.

Left hip: Truck to double downside tailwhip

The 360 at the start was opposite and also a couple of the tailwhips ;)
@@crinaboitor1475 The default way of doing a fastplant 360 is to do an oppo 360. Otherwise you would have to plant your rear foot or plant your foot on the outside, which would be harder.
Of course the downside whips in regular spins are going to be opposite.

@@martinjohansson8612 yes but emil spins to the left and he does his with his left foot like most people do. He did it switch so he did it with his front foot (right) and then did a regular x-up which was topside. the judges also said that it was a switch fastplant 360. It might be regular in theroy but not for Emil

I just watched this after just learning a t-bog and got blown away
so many crazy crashes. some of the jumps were borked.. like that first step-up. glad nobody got seriously hurt.
they talk about Emil bringing the windshield wiper, i believe thats pilgrims trick back in the day. he was known for it
you know that emils run was good just based on the fact that there is not enough time for the commentators to say the tricks he just did.
The huckery was ridiculous!
I like way more Erik's run and would put him on 1st. Emil's tricks are maybe more technical but too many tailwhip here and there. I just like Erik run much more.
That's how park came to be what it is in BMX, riders know what's going to impress the judges so those tricks get favoured so much that younger riders don't even bother learning the old stuff, there's still lots of variety in the tricks if you know what you're looking for but to the average viewer it all looks too similar with the spins + whips + barspins.
Got to say it was nice to see Erik's run including the old MX tricks with that huge flip superman seatgrab and tweaked out indian 360.
Eriks run might look good but emils run is super calculated which means it will 100% be a 1st place run
It’s more visually appealing to some but undoubtedly Emil is doing the most difficult tricks in the history of slopestyle and not letting any features be left out. He’s working really hard and clearly is the most talented so not giving it to him wouldn’t be fair honestly.
I felt the same way about Jaxson's run at rampage last year, I love that moto flair, it's too bad that tech dominates style in comps like these but tech is less subjective so I fully understand why. Let's be real though, both runs were absolutely INSANE!

I definitely would have seen Bringer before Fedko, but sometimes the judges... yeah you have to live with that.

Bringer had the best run. Not sure why the judges give so much for tail whip variations. Bringer had more variety and more gnarly consequential tricks.

Definitely seen smoother piloting before.
Not that I'm in the position to criticise; my mate took the controls off me within mere moments as I was struggling to do even the basic movements with his precious drone!
...Reminds me of way back in the 90s when a group of us had spent all activities week in high school building this RC plane, only for me to nose dive it onto the school field from great height! I'd somehow managed to skewer a poor little birdy with the detached propeller too.

A 100 will most likely never be scored atleast not first run it just dosent make sense then no one else is even able to beat that score second run

never thought I would see the day when I would get tired of seeing barspins..tailwhips and flips.....hell i learned them 25 years ago......they are some of the most basic tricks

Emil's runs are getting too similar. For those who can't tell each trick apart, his tricks look same. all those variations only matter to judges, the aucience doesn't really care. sometimes I even think that Emil is afraid of rotations, so that he only does tailwhips and barspins :D
