The only cool thing I see about this streamlined update is that maybe this is a chance for mid season racers to be leveled up since their shards are more difficult to obtain.
@Effortastic that is true, you got a point there.
You still need the shards to level them up though. It’s just a little “better” to level them one at a time instead of being locked at levels 15,25,35 etc based on the star level.
maybe I will finally get the 5 shards i need to unlock Figment
The fact that they refuse to tell anyone the conversion for each tier of item to Upgrade Coin when they have to know it to program it tells me all I need to know about how bad they will screw everyone in the conversion. But i agree that long term it might be beneficial since I think the previous overhaul to Pro Parts after ditching Flags, Cones, etc. was a net good.
That's a right step for this game
I think gameloft just got annoyed at having to create a whole lot of new upgrade items for every new character they introduce in the future, so I'm hoping it works but I know I'm ultimately gonna be disappointed at the start
For upgrade racers to level up, by using upgrade parts to use it, maybe is not useless at all, im always needs to upgrade more characters at anytime, is pretty usefull
I remember suggesting that they add a system that can turn upgrade parts into others.
So my 3K red cans can be turned into parts I need or extra epic racer parts into a bunch of weaker parts like triple cans.
I think I MIGHT try to get as MANY upgrade parts as possible. Considering how I play this game almost everyday. Also, thank you for explaining this update. I was VERY confused at what they meant when they announced it for season seven.
Thankyou for this vid man❤
To me it's not a positive change in the long or short run. As a FTP player when I would get a new character I could directly get them to lvl 15 or more now not really cause the shards needed double after lvl 10, triple after lvl 20 etc.
The boxes are not cheaper so this also means more expenses in the long run for those of you who put money in the game. To get a character to lvl 50 costs 8 time more then previously.
Basically the game is telling you we need your money 💵
Mostly worried about LTEs. You need so many more shards to hit the old level caps.
I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. Still have characters I need to grind for the current season tour like Belle and Lilo, so doesn't look like I'll be able to grind for higher level gear.
So will they get rid of the concept of different characters items being an upgrade thing and the upgrade coins will replace that concept? I actually like this new idea of using coins so extra parts aren't useless but I also like how they have character/movie specific upgrade bits
Thanks for breaking it down in these vids. I think like you said long term…it’ll work out better. This game I love it but it is a grind game, you either pay or you grind and I think with this it allows less grinding for specific parts ect.
Listening as we speak but you mention no progression lost at all...Lvl 35- 5 star Ariel wonders if she will keep her 4 crew slots or will she lose 2 of them as 35 is 3 star and only allotted 2? Did AJ mention this aspect?
That aspect was not mentioned. AJ said no star levels or shards would be lost, but I would assume the worst and imagine you need to upgrade ariel to 50 to get those crew slots back. You will still have all of her shards though
@@skyliner_productions Yea, that's what I was figuring as well. Glad no shard loss though.
I could see them changing the crew slots to being stars 2-4 due to this change, but I wouldn't count on it.
@@skyliner_productionsSaid this in my original comment, but yes shards are said to not disappear. However it was never confirmed that the current levels of characters we have will stay the same or what will they be doing to adjust them if you do not have a character maxed out at 50. Which is what scares me. I don’t want to spend all of my materials only for the game to then take away those levels and then get nothing in return when materials are converted because I had already spent them. If that makes sense?
I assume from answers to my questions on Discord that the characters will have their star levels decreased to ones calculated from the new level-based system and thus lose those crew member slots until leveled up.
I hope this works because I've been struggling to upgrade my characters in season 5 of course I haven't played it in a while it's because I'm stuck on the old gen console, at the trying so hard to get a next-gen console 🤔
A more streamlined upgrading system will probably be better in the long run, which is quite nice.
But I have no faith in Gameloft doing a fair conversion - I'm 100% expecting them to shaft us, so I'm just gonna level up all the racers I can before the change.
I won't try to grind ranked just to get more upgrade parts either because of it, I would imagine we'll get less upgrade coins for the materials from ranked than from the upgrade coins you can earn in ranked after the fact. You can only get those rewards once after all (unless they reset that with next season, highly doubt that though)
I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but it's better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best :p
I have most of the racers from Speedstorm in my roster. The only ones I don't have are Steamboat Pete, Stitch, Genie, Gaston, Ortensia, Wall-E, and Eve.
I have a lot of upgrade parts saved up, thanks in part to doing the Daily Boost Challenge every day. That has helped out immensely with getting many of my racers upgraded to two-star and even three-star statuses. Some of them are nearly ready for their next upgrade.
I'll just have to wait and see whether or not Season 7's new system is an improvement over the previous season's.
Ok finished the video a couple quick questions if you have a moment.
Your strat is farming non level 50s ya? But won't the level 50s give you the most of the highest level upgrade mats? Thus the highest converted rates for coins? Shards aren't changing too much and you'll be able to farm them after this update in the new racer boost(which will have coins instead of parts). So wouldn't it be best to stockpile the most sources of those highest mats now for best conversion?
Also, I've heard it a few times to get all the upgrade parts we can now...but didn't the ranked changes show us the new ranked changes will possibly be higher than what we already have? So would it not be possible that leaving those upgrade parts there, to pick up once they are converted to coins very likely be a better value? This one is purely speculation but you've seen the game over many more seasons and iterations than I(started with Aladdin). What are your thoughts?
Yes, you might have a point with ranked. And in my opinion, shards are going to be a lot more valuable after the update as you need them a lot more to level up. So I would combine our strategies and pick the racer that is the highest level, that you also still need shards for
This is a pay to Win ... Win!
Honestly we should wait for after the change. Unless you have a butt-ton of resources.
1 major update they need is in multiplayer to stop super high levels being in races with lv15 and lv 20 characters - happens ALL THE TIME - can't get my characters upto platinum mvp18 for the shards due to my lv 15 and lv25 characters racing levels 35+ all the time and even lv40+ with at least 5 in each race I enter and only top 4 get pts - how to progress?
As far as I’ve seen in discord, they only confirmed that shards will carry over to the new update (as in if you have max shards for a five star Jasmine, you will have all 200 shards needed to take her to level 50 if you spend the necessary material coins). However they haven’t confirmed that your current level will stay the same/be locked in once the update does go live. Which really concerns me because I don’t want to be spending materials to level up a character (say level up my five star Sulley to level 48) only for the new update to drop and suddenly I have a level 40
Sulley who is now technically 4 stars and will require a ton of materials to get back to 48 (and since I spent materials this season, I have less converted materials into these new coins)?
I got a reply that all racers will keep their current levels but you'll have to pay back the difference when you'll want to upgrade them.
Of all the games I have and have played since I was a kid. This is the only game that has really stressed me out and makes me angry that I shout at the game.
"You are not going to lose any progression whatsoever" is possibly not correct. I just unlocked Hades by finally getting 10 shards, and I leveled him up to lvl15. In the new system, my 10 shards are not enough for lvl15, so how is this going to be addressed by Gameloft? Either my Hades will go back to lvl10 (so I DO lose progression), or will remain lvl15 with a deficit (negative balance) of shards, which is unfair to other players (I shouldn't be able to have a lvl15 Hades with only 10 shards). Either way, it's bad.
Both of your scenarios are untrue, you’ll stay level 15. They’re essentially giving you the shards you would’ve used to get hades from 10 to 15 for free
@@skyliner_productionsno, I got confirmation that the racer will become locked at higher level and you'll need to essentially pay back the shards and coins due from the level at which you would be supposed to be when the new system is out.
Should we be min lvling characters to 10 or 20 if the conversion update will make it so star grades are based on specific level thresholds. what will happen to say a lv.1 character with 2~5 stars on them? this sounds like a needed update but the conversion sounds muddled.
Lvl 1 character will essentially be locked until upgraded to lvl 10, whey they'll get their first star.
Im sure its not gonna be that bad.....
What is the theme of the new season
We dont know at the moment but its rumored that its the nightmare before chirstmas or wreck it ralph
Thanks those are both dope
I'm done with this game..might as well call it disney 2k speedstorm, all they care about is money and not the community✌🏽
I don’t think that the conversion rate is very important, at this stage. If the conversion rate turns out to be awful and it’s not how they planned it to be, I bet they will update the rewards we will get on the season as well. It’s not as hard to fix, if they really intend to fix it. It’s just a matter of balancing it out.
Hi my jasmin 49 level
1st place pls pin😍
The old system rules!
Folks should focus on character SHARDS more than anything else as of now.
