At first I was bummed that Baam didn’t join Wolhaiksong, but I eventually realized and appreciated that SIU probably did it to purposely go against the trope of the good protag joining the equally good organization to take down an evil organization. Instead, SIU had Baam join FUG to remind us that not everything is clear-cut good and evil.
I didn't even noticed that-
But isn't "the bright cheery smiles protagonist goes emo and becomes super strong and edgy" another extremely overdone trope? I guess SIU had to do an eye for an eye. God early season 2 Bam was so edgy.

@@cameroncastaneda5506 FUG overall is a much darker organization than Wolhaiksong. Many FUG members do some shady shit on a daily basis. I wouldn’t be surprised if Black Airforces were a part of their uniform. I know not all FUG members are corrupt beyond saving (Jinsung Ha and maybe even Karaka being some examples of FUG slayers who have some noticeable moral boundaries), but FUG is just shady af.
I wonder will there will be a 10 great family arcs, hopefully the 10 families are also explained in their nuance. I suspect we are already in 'lo bo pia' arc.
Hi, just a Korean webtoon reader here. Really love this channel. Reading in both Korean and English makes the story quite...different in a way as if looking from different perspectives. Just want to bring a couple Korean comments and ideas in here from Naver (where originals are).
Ever since season 2, we knew the floor limit of the tower; 134 floors. We also know how to get beyond; gather the 13 months and the rings to create the key. We even have Arlene's prophecy of the 'god from the outside, kill the greedy king, and leading the people up to greater heights...probably quite literally.' Judging from all of this, I think we have a general idea of what FUG is and wants to do.
FUG came to existence after Jahad and the 10 Families took solid form in the tower as the rulers which is after the death of V and Arlene's departure. Many of us think that FUG is an extension or a legacy of the two, or more specifically Arlene's as per her prophecy and desire to continue the adventure onwards.
We believe that FUG (the head honcho at least) wants to fulfill that wish of Arlene Grace...thus our most popular and speculated full-name of F.U.G.
For Unforgettable Grace
To remember her will for eternity and see it carried out. Their 'god' being Baam who has recieved the 'god' from the outside as Arlene Grace has foretold.

Wolhaiksong's goal is not to Kill Jahard, I don't recall them ever having a specific goal. Although I think it may have been said once that their goal is to find a way to leave the the tower. Also peace keeping here and there.

@CK Lim Technically, the one holding half of the key is Zahard and the other half is split into the 13 months series, so anyone that unites the 13 months and the half in Zahard's possession can move on to the next floor, rumored to be the last floor of the tower. The Ten Family Leaders don't really have anything to do with the Key.
@CK Lim Zahard is still alive definitely, since he has just recently become active again in the Tower. However, I do not remember hearing anything about the rings making the other half of the key. I think it's still in the possession of Zahard. Or at least part of it is.
@CK Lim That is not a reason to believe him dead. There has been no need for him to appear in person yet and the princesses received orders from Zahard directly. So I believe he is alive.
@CK Lim Thanks for the info on the rings. But still the Ten Family Leaders are not really involved. We now have to wait and see the "princes" of Zahard, other than the "princesses". This is really exciting!

I used to think that Fug was just some sort of gang (which they kinda were I guess). But turns out they were some super powerful secret organization that has the most “impossible” goal. At least they’re useful

I started ToG manwha 4 days ago, today I’ve completed the 3 seasons currently available.

F.U.G stands for "For Unforgettable Grace" as explained in the floor of death arc, during when we first come to know about the Real story behind Bam and about Arlene Grace, and that's when Garam Jahad quotes that in Bam's of Name Jue Viole Grace, the Viole part comes from his father, V and the grace part is from his mother, Arlene.
We don’t know what the “FU” stands for yet, but that would be cool!

crazy how much of a impact and presence fug has had while still having so much of the members and info in the dark, hopefully he reveals more in this season.
It's always difficult to track down ToG lore, because SIU himself has a weird kind of worldbuilding. And a very good way to show us his world, unveiling things on the way. There are inconsistencies here and there, but I'm sure SIU is keeping some thins unexplored to fill the void with future events (I'm not saying he's improvising, but with a decade-long series the story will have to take some direction, so not everything will be coherent, but it will not matter. Kind of like in the Harry Potter franchise, where they explain very little of the world building)
elders are more like individuals who've lived incredibly long and hold ancient knowledge of many things. for example, they'd know about the thorn while baam wouldn't. so they act as the management group and develop plans and making slayers acquire powers which can potentially kill zahard.
My theory is that V (bam's dad) created FUG to go against Jahad and made Luslec cofounder (Kinda like a Mazino/Baek Ryun type situation). After V died Luslec becomes leader of FUG and made the whole organization's goal to kill Jahad.

I hope Viole (Bam) keeps his ties with FUG, he already told Kallavan that he would take down Jahad, and he can't do that alone. Also, it's not like all of FUG that don't care about Viole (Bam)
You should have highlighted how F.U.G’s perspective and overall impression towards Baam changed over the course of his journey up the Tower, since during the first couple of Seasons, they played an antagonistic role, trying to sabotage everything for him and his friends, like how some of the Elders & Slayers were against the whole idea of them putting their entire faith in him and were trying to melt him along with the Thorn instead of entrusting it to him.
Now I could be wrong here but what I got from what Graham tells bam on the floor of death was that after the split between Arlene and V from the other great families they went on to form FUG. It may have not been called FUG at first, but there rebellion is what would become FUG. The Grace family would be the heads then which is why you see luslec leading it now after there Arlene and V were gone.
These lore videos are some nice refreshers on the important things.
If it is not already planned, I would love to see you talk about every major faction (Jahad empire, Wolhaiksong, Workshop).
Especially the Workshop, because for me they seem even more mysterious than FUG. Most of the technology comes from them, they work with FUG, but also produce things for Jahads empire and I'm sure they have their own plans for the future of the tower.

My theory about Luslec is that he's from some kind of demon/devil race within the Tower. He's called the "God of Devils or the King of Demons", however, this could possibly be just metaphorical, he's a demon, or has a demon inside of him. I also think that Luslec was adopted by Arlene and V and that's why his last name is Grace. In a weird way this would make Luslec Bam's adopted brother.....Or i'm completely wrong. SIU has kept us in the dark for too long and this hiatus is taking my mind to extreme places. Hopefully the release date drops soon! I think there's a strong possibility we'll see him sooner than we think but thats just wishful thinking.
As far as we know for what we see in the webtoon, is that Luslec was a friend of V, so, He's not a adopted brother of Baam.

You got a thing wrong, the first 2 irregulars in FUG were its founders, Bam´s Parents...
and with that we also kinda know the motive, because bams perents were two of the first irregulars, who went up with Jahard, but they were betrayed/ the whole thing with Jahard loving bams mother, but bams mother taking Vi as her husband, etc

this is my theory but i think that the followers of FUG want to kill jahad because of personal business but i think the original goal of FUG was to reach the 135th floor but because of personal vendetta it became more focused on killing the 10 great family heads and jahad my guess is that Luslec probably wants to kill jahad because of what he did to his master and arlen grace
No. V and Arlene didnt create FUG. They were nameless resistance group.... However, V and Arlene is indeed the root of the tree which is known in the future as FUG
The remains of V and Arlene's army followers after the great war era then formed FUG. Thats why FUG was lead by Grace Mirchea Luslec (V's servant)
That's why the "G" letter stands for "Grace". It's an organization dedicated for Arlene. Continue the fight, Arlene's unfinished business.

I was very underwhelmed by the slayers I really thought that even if they couldn’t kill a member of the ten great families because of the immortally contract I at least thought they could fight on par with them but Yama keeps getting his ass kicked and Kakra (I can't spell lol) keeps losing to normal high rankers

FUG was the most confusing part of Tower of God in my first read, cause it was like they were bam's enemies, but bam's allies, and individual members felt differently and it kept switching back and forth. That made it more interesting and gave the characters and the overall story more depth, but it was hard to process
FUG's slayers and elders are kinda like this in nutshell:
"WE HAVE TO HELP THIS BOY"
"NO DAMMIT WE NEED TO TURN HIM INTO A THORN"

Honestly I’m a bit confused, if there are 7 slayers and 4 empty seats then why is Karaka called the 11th slayer and White the 10th if there are only seven right now? unless the other four are inactive.

I think there used to be 4 other slayers and then went inactive.
And they kept the title places.
It's probably because Karaka is the 11th to become a slayer and White is the 10th to become a slayer which means that there are 9 slayers before them so even though 4 of them is inactive they're still considered to be one of those 11 slayers and that's probably a title given to them. Also the purpose Bam being a slayer candidate was because he has the "power" to Kill Jahad being an irregular and everything(and also being Arlene and V's son) and as I remember even though FUG is a big organization, they're still the weakest out of the 4 big organizations like Jahad's army, Wolhaiksong, and the Workshop so they really need all the help and power they can get to be able to reached their goal of Killing Jahad's army and Jahad himself because I mean if they could then they would've started a war a long time ago but they clearly can't even atm.

Wolhaiksong's goal isn't to kill Jahad. They couldn't care less about the politics of the Tower. They just want to leave the Tower. That's their main and only goal.
And only Jahad cannot be killed by someone from the Tower. He made a contract the others didn't. So, technically, if you're strong enough, you can kill the heads of the ten great families, but only an irregular can kill Jahad.
Thats not really true if you look it up they are all immortal only one person didn't receive it but struck a horrible deal to get it in the end

When bam was being told about Arlene Grace didn't they say that jahad came with 13 companions. If the G means grace maybe the F&U are the names of the other two companions that were left out of the families.

For some reason I thought I read a blog post a long time ago saying FUG stood for Fugitives Under Grace.
I have a theory I just came up with! So I'm pretty sure, although Luslec was serving under V, they never said they were on good terms (from what I remember) - so what if Luslec actually was the one who killed V so he could take power
And another theory - now before I explain this one, I want to say, I don't really look to much into extended lore, so if this doesn't match up, please tell me - anyway - we know Dowon and her team were with FUG, and were fighting a war against Jahad, and we know that V and Arlene were fighting a war against Jahad, and both times we know FUG was loosing against Jahad. So was Dowon and everyone fighting the war of V and Arlene vs Jahad and the great families?! This might have already been confirmed, or the dates are different, or something, but as I said, I don't really look into the extended lore.
Actually something you said is false and that’s the contracts with the family heads, Jahad and the family heads did make a contact for immortality however the family heads contract is the same that every ranker gets and keeps them from dieing of old age, Jahad is the only one who another special contact that makes it so no one who was born in the tower can kill him

The founder of fug is the father of bum which is also they had the same name jue viole , grace is the name of the 13th family now 10 family who revolt against jahad .
The Elder Crest is made of 6 eyes, so I think there are 6 elders. My question is: Do you think all the 6 elders are like co-founders of FUG - Puting them in a superior position compared to slayers, but no necessarily stronger (probably because they have a more tactical and administrative job than the Slayers) - so Grace Mirchea Luslec could be at the same time a Slayer and an Elder? If that's the case, do you think other Slayers could also be Elders? Thanks for the video! ^^
Oh and btw Augusgus is the most baddass character in TOG - only falling behind MA BOI RED TOWER ENRYU - which gives me an even better look of FUG. Just another thing ( a curiosity): Gado is the brazilian portuguese word for Cattle and here in BR we call Simps-> Gado, so it was very funny to read the Baylord Yama's Arc.

I think Bam is their most important character because he has the power to break spells super easily! Which I assume immortality is also a spell! Bam hasn't really accepted to be in FUG, and he's just using their power for his own benefit as was shown in Name Station. Because if he's working with FUG officially, then none of the princesses can help him anymore.

I'm pretty sure that the 10 family heads can technically be killed since they just have immortality contracts which gives them eternal life. Jahad is the exception because he has an additional contract that stops inhabitants of the tower from killing him which is why they need bam.

I assume the lifespan of those at the top floors is longer because of better lifestyle and healthcare, as most of those who die of old age in the tower usually die of contracting diseases or developing allergic reactions to shinsu as they get older. @@easyfinance8833 I think you indeed stop aging. Personally I think being ranked does grant immortality to a certain extent like perhaps not being affected by serious disease's wich makes you live thousands of years.

I think FUG stands for Free Us Grace. Like free them from the shackles of the tower/jahad.
Why does Wolhaiksung care about Jihad if their goal is to exit the tower? It would be interesting if Jihad was a target for the sole fact that he may be blocking a potential path out of the tower, i.e. going further up the tower. If they were 100% committed to that goal then they would have to consider that possibility and be just as committed to eliminating any obstacles.

Wolhaiksong doesnt realy want to get rid of Zahad and co, they seek a way outside the tower, and Urek also wants to finde Rank 1 (idk how to spell him)

The main difference between Wolkhaiksong and FUG is FUG want to kill Jahad and 10 great family heads whereas Walkhaiksong just wants to get out of the tower, they don’t necessarily to want to get rid of the king. I may be wrong though....
