What do you mean you can't protest? You can coordinate your event, slogans, presence or absence of sound amplification equipment. One day, one vlogger coordinated a walk to buy a loaf of bread and he was given a police guard along the route. It’s just that the protest crowd has the belief that they should have the right to do whatever they want and where they want. Even near at the maternity hospital, at least the fire station or the only bridge. I was stuck in all of this myself. Just a coordinated rally will be a fart in the pudl, and clashes with the police will cause loud headlines and raise the degree.
I used to sympathize with left-wing radical views. At one time, one Aeroflot employee tried to defend his working rights, and by a unanimous decision of the board of directors they got rid of him. Navalny was a member of the board of directors then. Navalny? Whatever. We read what he writes, but we didn’t give a damn about him.

If Navalny by the chance became the President of Russia, well, let's just assume that - you wouldn't want to come to such a Russia, if Russia even existed after that.

Спасибо вам за освещение этой темы! Действительно, в российских медиа официальными лицами даже фамилию оппонента не произносили, обходясь различными эвфемизмами по типу "этот гражданин" и т.п. И то, как пытались замять в новостях все возможные обсуждения по поводу того, что действительно случилось в Харпе и что после, говорит о том, что тема эта под запретом. Однако, представить это как похороны какого-то неизвестного и никому не нужного политика не получилось. Резонанс получился широкий: тысячи пришли проститься, учитывая, что была возможность получить от милиции, автозаки уже стояли неподалёку. Словом, в России уже давно есть два параллельных мира: тот, что на Первом канале и все остальное.
Он был проплаченным агентом, которого спонсировали западные спецслужбы и его задача была устроить переворот в нашей стране. Он был предателем и позором, имя которого даже произносить не стоит. Весь этот ажиотаж вокруг него иностранных СМИ, а также послы которые приехали на похороны говорят сами за себя - их проект не удался и провалился со свистом.
Тысячи людей... это офигеть, конечно, какой широкий резонанс. И, кстати, надо быть немного недалёким, чтобы не понимать, для какой цели ставят автозаки с нарядами. Это не для того, чтобы крутить сочувствующих, а для того, чтобы оперативно скручивать разжигателей протестов, которые в такой обстановке потенциально могут возникнуть. То есть, можете лить слёзы, бросать цветочки, но беспорядки устраивать нечего.

As a russian, it is really sad to see this happen to Navalny and the opporsition in Russia in generel. :(
This country is an open jail and ordinary people are so heavy caged or to say kept quite. I feel so disgusted seeing all this and do not like a bit about it. Though I also know that there are good and bad people everywhere yet I hate its leaders and the dead heavy atmosphere they have created in this country. All its literature, history, music and everything else reeks of gloom and doom and a deep sense of suffocation.
In my country its the upcoming elections in justva month and as so many leaders are rightly suggesting that if we don't use our vote judiciously our country, might turn into a Russian like system. This makes me so nervous but then it's never going to happen.
But thanks anyway brother for showing this to us from the lens of an ordinary person rather than all those fake media channels. You are so brave to live there. Stay safe and happy! 😐

А с выборами вообще интересная ситуация: несмотря на то, что мы никак не можем повлиять на выборы президента, большинство всё равно поддерживает ЕГО. Это значит, что, фактически, выборы являются демократическими, но можно не ходить на избирательный участок, а сидеть дома и не напрягаться :D

Calling other country a jail while staying in the info jail is quite ridiculous. Say it frankly, you don't know much about _that_ country, besides that western media speaking of.
