I am also not a very good cook and made your roasted pumpkin recipe and it was absolutely delicious! My dad loved it. Haven't put it in salad yet, will have to make pumpkin again to end up in salad 😁

I don't know what it is but most French people seem to be able to make most things taste delicious! A French friend of mine once cooked me a very simple, delicious dinner of roast chicken, salad and roast potatoes. The potatoes were amazing and apparently she had rubbed a clove of garlic around the roasting tin before she put the potatoes in. It would never have occurred to me. It's little tweaks like those that make all the difference!
Mashed cauliflower. Boil it for 20 minutes in chicken broth, not too much. Put the cauliflower and broth after 20 minutes and blend with olive oil salt and pepper until consistency of mashed potatoes. 70 calories a cup, holds an au jus gravy just fine, good with beef, roast chicken, pork ... anything!
My favorite salad is spinach, sliced strawberries with grilled chicken, crumbled bacon, and pecans with no dressing or a very light balsamic vinaigrette. It’s not quite as healthy as yours but still delicious.
Looks yummy! Yesterday I made a wheat berry salad with toasted walnuts, orange segments, chopped apple, green onions, kale, dried cranberries, and a honey vinaigrette dressing --- it was amazing!

It’s so cold here I can’t imagine doing salad. I tend to eat vegetable soups for my lunches ☺️. But my favourite summer salad is lettuce, rocket, tomatoes, goats cheese, pine nuts, grilled portobello mushrooms and walnuts. Just with the same vinaigrette you use except whole grain mustard not Dijon 🤤. Also love the hair cut 💇♀️

@@ms.frederique i forgot one more which is oranges, grapefruit, blood oranges if you can get them (they are super hard to find where I live) fennel and avocado with a champagne vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard and lemon dressing. Lovely in summers and I imagine in Australia you can get blood oranges ☺️
Chevre and beet root is amazing in summer salad and go well together. many people who dont like beet find they do with a bit of strong cheese like chevre

That salad looks amazing!! I LOVE a big salad full of tons of different stuff. In spring/summer I obsess over strawberries in salad - in fall/winter, I add winter squash, like you did, or even sweet potatoes. Also pears. I love to have beans in salad too - especially kidney and garbonzos. If I don’t feel like washing lettuce, I often do a chopped salad - cucumber, tomatoes, beets, avocado, scallions or red onion, and green beans. 😋 Thanks for sharing!!

Your hair looks terrific. We use the word vinaigrette in American English, too. I do love how Oscar lets us know he is there: your not-so-silent roommate. I love salads like the one you made. I like them, usually, to not be fussy but to use a dozen different colors, textures, flavors that all bring different vitamins and minerals to the party in my belly. I will eat a salad that is only 3 items plus dressing or is quite specific in its recipe, like a Waldorf salad. But I love a salade Nicoise that, though a particular recipe, has so many things to tantalize the palate. I like salads, soups, stews, casseroles because they allow you to use what you have on hand.
i just started watching you videos and i love them! thank you for encouraging us to eat in a more healthy way and i wanted a bowl of the wonderful salad you prepared! I will try to watch more often and look forward to your salad recipes and anything else you make and eat on a daily basis...diets are not for me but LOVE the idea of adoption your method of getting and staying healthy...Merci!

Looks delicious! My favorite salad is 2 cups of mixed greens like kale, spinach, mache, arugula..add one handful of fresh basil torn with parsley and mix up a simple balsamic vinegar and oil dressing...chop up a little avocado and have a handful of fresh raspberry
Toss your salad greens with a little fresh vinegar and olive oil and one grated garlic clove with a shake of pink salt
Add your sliced avocado, fresh raspberries and if you have a few strawberries it is very nice with the balsamic! It’s light and fresh and very good! Sometimes I add a few toasted pumpkin seeds for Omega 3
You can also throw a tablespoon of hemp seeds or quinoa for extra protein.
Your salad sounds SO refreshing...I’m going to try it!

I love doing a salad with arugula, chopped celery, toasted pine nuts, and grated fresh ginger. I usually do a basic vinaigrette with some dill weed to sweeten it a little. So yummy! Thanks for your video, as always!!

That salad looks delicious. Yum! I need to make that dressing. I think it would be good to use as a marinade for chicken, shrimp, salmon, or tofu, when grilling. Also on portobello mushrooms, would be nice. Thank you for sharing with us.

My favorite salad: spring mix/arugula topped with: sunflower seeds, blackberries, cumin/chili powder spiced roasted sweet potatoes, avocado (random other veggies can be added or substituted. I've used raspberries, pumpkin seeds, etc but the sweet potatoes and the dressing are a must). The only dressing I really LOVE is one I make. Take one zesty Italian seasoning packet and mix with balsamic vinegar, EVOO, and a dash of water to thin it out a bit. It's always a hit when I bring it to parties.

I think that looked great! Sometimes I like to mash up the avocado a little bit and mix it with the lettuce before adding their other stuff. It makes a nice “dressing”.

Hello ! you are absolutely right about garlic ! I'm French and I can't imagine cooking without olive oil and garlic ! I Love cooking ! I'm genuinely addict to cooking ! I even do my bread and my brioche bread with black or blond sesame seed ! I like to use different kid of lentils, pink lentils, blond lentils, green lentils, but also bulghur, chickpeas, black beans, red beans, I germinate mungo beans that I sprinkle on my salads... As i said addict !! bises de France .oh and a poached egg delicately placed on a slice of my brioche bread seasoned with salt and sweet pepper ... that’s it I’m hungry!

In one episode you talked about getting rid of designer paper shopping bags. I use the ones I have to sort out things and as a trash bag in the bathroom (with a plastic liner) that I hang on the door handle.
My salads are very similar!! One change I did to reduce calories is not to use any salad dressing. I use a blended orange juice..3-4 capsful on lettuce, sprinkle dulse seaweed, salad herbs( lemon tyme, tarragon, garlic, basil, dill) by Temecula Olive oil company, celtic salt small amount. I will ad 3-4 oz of check, fish or meat

I'm eating fruit during the day and usually vegetarian or vegan meal for dinner. I just love salads. My favourite one I used to make for all the guys in the gun club (Yes, I was a member for 10 years) was my famous green salad. And boy, was it a hit! So all things green! Then I'd add all my secret ingredients and special dressing. Can't say all the ingredients as I might do a cookbook or something one day. Who knows! Textures, flavours and crunch. Sweet and savoury. Looks delicious! I make similar salads--sometimes I add bleu cheese instead of feta--I love them both! I also add fresh tomato in summer when available and diced avacado.

Your salad looks wonderful. I like a broccoli salad. You blanch the broccoli for 1 to 2 mins put in ice water then I spin the water off. Mayo, raisins, red onion, sunflower seeds, s and p. Enjoy in summer as a cold side and last several days.

So hard to realize you are in the middle of summer now. That salad looks fantastic. Shared it with several people. We need something light and healthy in between the winter cheat days. Must be so much easier to not gain weight during the holidays with the warm weather

My favourite dressing i got from my favourite bistro in paris. Chop shallot, red wine vinagar, dijon and oil. i add various herb depending on what available. I love it. I will try with balsamic tomorrow.

Just seeing this but I’d like to add that for my tuna salad, I use almost the same ingredients. My mother, however, always added one chipped hard boiled egg to the tuna. She spoke Cajun French before English. Merci!
