- Hi everyone! Thank you for joining us in Milani's first time eating solid food! This little girl is very particular and has been strictly breastfed since she was born and not by choice! She is definitely smart and knows she'll get the good stuff and refuses the bottle. She took it for about a week and then turned right around and will not take it...from ANYONE! We have tried every bottle, different kinds of nipples, different people feeding her etc. etc. and nothing!
I became very desperate and tried to convince her pediatrician and her nurses that she was ready for solids at three months because she was holding her head up really well. However, because their digestive system is still developing, they were very adamant that I wait until she was exactly 4 months old.
This was 3 days after she turned 4 months old and I went out to buy her some Gerber Rice Cereal to try as her first solid. She did very well the first time and ate every last bite. We are still giving her this along with banana here and there which we will share at a later time.
She is currently 5 months exactly and she still refuses the bottle. I don't think she will ever take it so I am trying to transition her to a sippy cup nipple. Do any of you have any suggestions? Also, am I the only one that loves Puppy Dog Pals or do we have other fans out there? lol

Good job hun! My daughter was in the hospital for the first month after her birth, i had such a hard time getting her to breastfeed cause the nurses were always sticking bottles in her mouth. I was fortunate that they let me mix some baby food with her milk very early on. Boy did she grow fast after that! Good luck on the feedings and just do you mama!!!

My daughter was way hungry at 4 months so fed her the small baby food jar and there was no stopping lol... if they seem hungry feed them.
my mom says the same-my son is almost 4 month and she is already asking if hes had cereal and told me told me to let him try my spaghetti sauce. she saw him going in with his eyes lol

My baby was teething at 2.5 months, he’s been almost sitting up on his own and holding his head on his own 1.5 months. He’s 4 months and a couple and a week roughly. I didn’t rush this even though he’s been showing food envy and putting everything in his mouth bc they can choke.
My 7 month daughter doesn’t want to eat with a spoon as I’m feeding her but do you think it’s the same thing if I just mixed the rice cereal and formula in her bottle ? And just have her suck it from the bottle instead?
No it's the same !!! Keep trying she will eventually take the spoon to her mouth make sure your baby has some flavor in her cereal for instance mix a little applesauce in it or sweet potatoes all babies are different and this is what worked for me!!!🤔♥️♥️🧸🍼🥣
No, it’s not the same. This is why you ask your pediatrician these questions and not some random advice on CZcams because you get advice from people who “think” they know about things they don’t. I’m a RN and have worked in pediatrics for my entire 20 year career, and you should NEVER put rice cereal in a bottle. It’s dangerous! There are a lot of people who do it anyway and think that because their child did okay that it’s okay for everyone else to do it as well, and it’s not. It’s like letting a 13 year old drive a car. Not every single one will wreck the car, but enough will that makes it dangerous to let someone that young drive. If your child won’t eat off a spoon, you have to be more persistent and try it multiple times every day. They will eventually take to it. I haven’t encountered any kids who still wouldn’t eat from a spoon if the parents were persistent like that.
@@judystanko3470 that’s great that it worked for you, but it’s not the same at all. You should never add anything into a bottle other then formula or breast milk. There’s a reason that there’s no directions on the container about how to make it to put it in a bottle. No pediatrician would ever recommend doing so either because it’s dangerous. This is the reason that people shouldn’t ask for advice about things like this on CZcams and should talk to the child’s doctor about it instead. As a RN who’s worked in pediatrics for 20 years, I wish more people asked us about things beforehand, instead of listening to other people and then coming to us after things go horribly wrong.

Girl, I am literally breastfeeding right now lol. She got full, but it depended on if she was going to do down right after. She is 15 months old and never took to the bottle. It is hard! I work part time and I only nurse 2-3 times during the day.... BUT when she doesn’t sleep through the night which is often she will not sleep unless she’s attached. Try a sippy cup... my daughter learned how to use a straw really early also and that’s the only way she would drink out of anything. Good luck!

Hi, I have the same problem. My baby doesn't like bottle at all, neither pacifiers. And I started giving him baby cereal but the taste is awful, he doesn't like I mix my milk and cereal.
Milani will drink from a straw. We bought sippy cups with straws from walmart. Try those out and see if he likes them. Other than that, I am out of ideas for Milani also lol
Try the oatmeal! Its the same consistency but taste way better lol

I gave my sons baby cereal, just a few very thin bites when they was a few weeks old. It was more like soup. Gave it to them at night. My Mom told me to and it worked out. Used a tiny spoon and a coffee cup. Did not put it in a bottle. Did not hurt them.

It’s not “metal” it’s iron and it’s really good for your baby.

So my baby is 6 months and he taller than average but just learned with his pediatrician he is lower weight :( ...I didn't start the cereal till now, but he completely hates it!! He cries so much even hold the spoon and pushes away...it's a battle to make hin eat 4 spoons (we are also trying applesauce at Lunch) but it's just traumatic at this point...and I'm nervous because we need to fix his weight ASAP.....I'll continue trying my best but now , now I just wanted to vent at 3 am 😞...your little lady is SO cute I love how serious she eats and how easy
I can tell you that this good eater you see in the video is almost 5 now and is the pickiest eater on the face of the planet lol. My 1 year old now eats everything we put in front of him. Honestly this was so long ago, if I could do things differently I would. With my son I skipped the rice cereal and went straight to purees :) Always ask your pediatrician though.

@@SayeshaJ It is a loooong road when they don't take a bottle. The solids helped, but now she is 18 months old and sort of picky. We are dealing with some issues on low weight, but am working to bring her up.
Maybe try different bottles, it could be the nipple she does not like.
