Yep. I know exactly how he feels. It's the worst feeling to think you've let-down your little ones, even if it isn't really your fault.
I was travelling in an RV and when I stopped I found out that one of my kitties was missing. I was convinced that he had gotten out somewhere along the way and I was just about to retrace my 300 mile trip. Meanwhile, I wanted to check the whole inside of the RV so I started taking it apart. I was about to disassemble the couch so I opened a cabinet to get the maintenance book out, and there he was! I don't know how he got up into the cabinet.
I don't think I ever had such a bad feeling followed by such a good feeling. It's been two years and I'm still tearing up thinking about it.
I heard it as, "I'm so glad you're okay."

I also think from half a foot off the ground, all humans just look like big giants, but when she was close enough to get his scent, she immediately knew she was safe and going home
My friend's Norwegian Elkhound had gotten out and was missing for more than a month before the right person saw the flyer and called.
She had turned up three miles from home and when we went to get her, she almost crawled to her person who kept telling her, "You're not in trouble."
Of course, I had stopped and gotten a twelve-pack of chicken nuggets on the way to the recovery...
I want to thank Alliso, Eldad, and Hope for Paws for getting out baby girl back home to us. It is truly amazing what you guys do and I'm lost for words and can't tell you how much this means to us. We are forever thankful.

It is truly amazing what HFP does and never did I think my dog would end up in one of their vidoes. So thankful for what they do.

My mom works at the local SPCA, and we always return pups with microchips, you should always get your pet microchipped, it's really safe if you loose your pet you can find it

I love seeing how their personality completely changes when they are with their loving owners. In 2015 i rescued a white akita lost on my own street, he was scared, agressive and very shy, but when i finally found the owners and they came pick him up he immediatly lighted up, he was a very happy goofball in a split second, it was very moving.
I stole my neighbour's cat a few months ago. He "didn't fit in" with their house, so he was frequently shut outside and left to fend for himself. Particularly on cold winter nights, he would come over to our house, slip into the garage through our cat flap, and find somewhere not-entirely-freezing to curl up. We'd make sure he had food and water available whenever it was getting cold, and made sure there were plenty of snuggly spaces. A few months ago, when the plague was really starting up, we noticed that nobody seemed to be living in the neighbouring house, and the cat was coming around our place more often. We started feeding him daily. He was always very slow, cautious, sneaking around so we wouldn't notice him, staying in hiding spots until we were back inside. One day, we saw that he had a large infected wound on one leg: no fur, skin turning grey...it looked awful. So the next morning we yoinked him, put him in a carrier and took him off to the vet.
After two weeks he was vaccinated, chipped, and neutered, and registered to us. And he is the undisputed _King_ of the house. He doesn't hide any more, doesn't sneak around, doesn't stay hyper-aware of his surroundings - he sprawls. He sleeps flat on his back, belly in the air, without a care in the world. He's so happy to have humans.

She slipped out of her collar.
This is why when people post online that they’re looking for their lost dog and it’s not wearing a collar, you shouldn’t immediately berate them or shame them for it. Sh*t happens, and it’s devastating. My cousin was putting her dog’s new collar on, inside, and at the moment her husband was opening the door to walk into the house, fireworks went off outside. Her dog panicked and ran out the front door, with no collar. She begged for help on Facebook dog groups and over half of the comments scolded her for not making her dog wear a collar, or told her that her doge was as good as dead. Don’t be that person.
My previous dog had a weirdly shaped head and could slide out of his collar no matter how tight it was. We were fortunate the closest he ever came to being 'lost' was when he took off after a squirrel at the dog park and panicked when he realized we were out of sight, but a couple of times when I was walking him on leash he backed up suddenly and slipped out of the collar. I got him back in it immediately, but it was pretty nerve-wracking.

I put a collar to a stride cat that like come to see us, it took 2 weeks and the collar was gone, the cat is with with sone gray and he looked beutiful with the black collar i put him, but it happens. Sometimes they dont like them, and sometimes people stole the collars.
@@justanorthernlight maybe an harnes would be better. My uncles last rescue is a galgo and fir them to take her to the bet we made something resembling an arnest since they live in the countriside and has fence on all parts the dogs dont go out the property ( 9 dogs and 3 cats)
The apology and the sniffles from the dad really got me, you can really tell how much love there is for Luna. I love this happy ending.

I love seeing reunions like this. That little tentative hope as if the dog is saying "Is that really you...?" then a sniff and gradual build up of excitement. She was so excited and happy that she can barely contain herself
It’s time for a pet microchip scanner built in to all smartphone so when Joe public find a stray pet they can scan the pet directly from any smart phone
Then it is also time for all smart phones to become about 3-4x's larger than they are now so one in every 100,000 (?) might use that feature. You can buy a scanner for about $40, a good one for $100, or the best for about $300. Now, add that cost and SIZE to a smart phone.

The guy is Eldad. And he's an angel. It's California, so putting that netting around the car is asking for a lawsuit if something happens and wants to be a douchebag. But Eldad doesn't care. He does the right thing and saves the dog. If you want validation that there are still many good human beings in this world, watch his other videos. He got me volunteering at my local pet shelter, which is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. Allowed me to feel again.

this reminds me of a time me and my family found a dog on the streets. we took her our house and put her online asking if anyone knew this dog. We decided to call her Melody. she had rough fur and was pretty tall with the most adorable face! the day after we found her we got a phone call from the owners and it turns out her name was Stormy! we called her name and she responded excitedly so we took her home. She was so excited she jumped out the window and into her owners arms! They explained Stormy had been missing for a month and [ironically] is terrified of storms, which we were having a lot of recently.. the owners told us that Stormy also had a seizure problem so they thought she had died after a few days. I felt so special for helping a doggy!

My two chihuahuas died recently at 14 & 16 so I miss them sooooo much. I never lost them once. I thought the owner abandoned Luna but her reaction tells me she loves her owner. That's the same reaction my chihuahuas always gave me whenever I would come home. Chihuahuas are the best companion dogs ever!!!!!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I have a chihuahua and she is 13 years old. She will turn 14 in June. I’ve had her since she was 8 weeks old. When I come back home she is so happy, jumps around and give me a lot of hugs and kisses. I love her so much. She is like one of my kids. I don’t have 2 kids I have 3. We are a Hurricane Harvey evacuee. We got flooded and lost everything but I saved my chihuahua and we survived the hurricane. She thinks of me as momma and my husband daddy. We were living in a hotel that FEMA paid for when my husband passed away on 2-2-2018. She moped around the hotel for a couple of days looking for her daddy. Our kids are grown and we have 2 grandkids. So it’s just me and my chihuahua now and waiting on an apartment to get available so we can try to have some normalcy in our life. She clings to me and follows me around every where I go and then she gets upset and cries when I leave to go anywhere. I try to take her every where with me if I can but there are some places I can’t take her. Hopefully we will get back to normal one day. I love watching the videos of Hope For Paws. I get so emotional when I watch them. I get emotional right now because I’m grieving over my husband. Thank you Eldad, Loreta, Lisa and all the staff for what y’all do for the animals!! Love you guys and keep up the good work that y’all do!!

My Benny,love of my life,had a brain tumor that came on so quick. In my heart I knew what it was but I honestly thought chemo and pain meds would let us keep him for a while longer. Vet said that day because it would only get worse as his motor skills were going fast. I was stricken and miss jim every day. He was also 16.Sweet little guy.
You could tell Luna was accustomed to a dad because of how much more willing she was to come to Eldad instead of the sweet lady who first tried to help and called HFP for help.

I love this video so much. When Luna realizes it's Dave, she is just overcome with joy. Dave doesn't seem to outwardly express how happy he is to see Luna, but if you watch him closely, his face looks very emotional, like he might cry. Lots of things can happen to a tiny dog in four days - Dave must have been incredibly happy to get his sweet Luna back. I wish all lost pet stories could end like this one.

My goodness what a beautiful reunion. At first I think Luna thought she was in trouble when she saw her dad but quickly realized she wasn't then showed how happy she was to see her dad. Beautiful ending. I was also very happy to hear her brother was ok from the accident. Can't ask for a better story.

There should be more people like him. He saved a dog for no money and even if he did get a reward he wouldn't have done it for the reward. Just think that that dog right now is loving her owner so much and without him that probably would never have happened.

Its what he dedicates himself to. Its the organization he works for. Its not like he just wanders around helping any animal in need. Not to dismiss his acts in any way shape or form. But its very hard for the average citizen to help. Like the woman who called them said, she didn't want to try getting him to come out of fear of the dog running into traffic. Operations like this NEED to be organized, so that kind of equipment can be at the ready.

For all of you wondering What a microchip is (in a dog) it's the owners choice to put one in for tracking or if the dog is found they can get it back to you easily. It does not effect or hurt the dog in any way..... only when it is put in, it gives a little sting but that is all.

I was crying with joy for little Luna! Dogs get so attached to their human families, and its double trauma to be adopted out again. Imagine a kid going through that! How wonderful that you found her!!! I'm so grateful and happy for Luna!

My daughter found what appeared to be a stray cat in a motorway lay-by in France. The cat didn't have a collar, but it reacted so unexpectedly for a feral cat (was friendly, and happy to be picked up) that she felt sure it must be simply lost, so she took it to a vet, and he identified it through its chip and it was reunited with its grateful owners about 200 miles away. While they had been in the lay-by, it had escaped from their caravan and they didn't realise till a couple of hours later. They back-tracked, but didn't find it. When my daughter called them, they traveled to a meeting point 140 miles from their home to retrieve it, and were elated to be reunited.
I lived in France, where I owned a dog. When I returned to England, the dog was faced with 6 months in quarantine because of the rabies scare. He had spent a week in kennels before, while we were on holiday, and he had not taken it well, so we thought it batter to give him away. Of course, he was in a new place, and not yet attached to his new owners, so a day later, he went AWOL. Within hours, I received a call from somebody who had taken him to a vet, got him identified, not through a chip, but through a tattooed number on the inside of his ear (a nationally recognised scheme in France), and the new owner went to pick him up. I don't know when all this happened, but as of today it is illegal not to identify your dog in France, tattooed numbers in the ear ar still recognised but less practiced if at all, it is highly encouraged to use microchip now, for exemple, you can't legally get out of France with your dog if it hasn't got a microchip.

The story about my dog was quite a long time ago. I have been back in the UK for 34 years.
The other one regarding the lost cat was only a couple of years ago, but that cat was chipped, as you suggest is more prevalent now. I don't know which is worse. I can see that unscrupulous people who steal an animal will dig the chip out.

I live in Italy and luckily here the microchip is mandatory by law for dogs.. Still working on "cats" side

I won't chip my dogs. But my dogs are well trained and wear martingale collars they can't slip out of..

In Spain all dogs, cats and ferrets must hace microchip. I have also been stopped twice by the police cheeking all dogs in the park to see if they had the chip.

I love Shepherds myself but right now my daughter is with me and she has a golden and a Doxie so I can't have what I want. I lost my last one about four years or so ago and haven't gotten over it yet, he was so smart, he knew what I was going to do before I did almost.
