Dentin Hypersensitivity- Treatment modalities

The hypersensitive dentin can be treated by 2 main mechanisms: first type is the one we just saw i.e. Occluding the open dentinal tubules and the second being Depolarization of the nerve fibres. The first group of products works by occluding the open tubules and decreasing pulpal fluid flow. This group includes: fluorides, fluoride varnishes, Fluoride iontophoresis, tissue fixatives, oxalates, remineralising agents, and Pro-Argin technology. The second group of products works by depolarizing the nerve so that it cannot transmit the pain response. The ingredient that produces this effect is potassium nitrate used in a concentration of 5%. Some newer agents used to aaleviate dental hypersensitivity are Laser, Pre-hybridized dentin and Bioglass (Novamin).

question please why when the Bone downturn or shrink the gum olso shrink why doesn't stay in it place ? why the gum follow the Bone recession ??

Gum is attached to the bone, that’s the main reason why gun follow the bone
