WATCH: FRANKEL - 2011 QATAR SUSSEX STAKES

The 2011 Sussex Stakes was billed as ‘The Duel On The Downs’ between Frankel and Canford Cliffs. The pair arrived into the race having won a string of consecutive Group 1 contests between them over 1-mile. However, this was a one-sided battle from a fair way out as Frankel used his remarkable turn of foot to force the Richard Hannon Snr-trained Canford Cliffs into submission as he went onto win by five-lengths.
